CHAPTER 1 Ένα

The night sky let out a gentle flow of wind the earth, and the moon creased a torch of dim light in the horizon. It was a peaceful night indeed, and the only thing I intended to do that night was to sharpen my Styx blade.

My name is Rerona Delaz Christopher, I am a child of no part of the world, and by earth's calculations, I've lived 17 years. My life has always been hooked up with the same schedule every single day, thanks to my mom, I get to attend the worst high school in Kuyo Town, Tyl'l High.

I am an only child, and the only family to my mom, so you can pretty much call us boring.

But what if I tell you that I have a Styx blade, forged directly from the pits of Tartarus in Hades, and best part is that, I summon the knife whenever I need it.

My dad gave me this knife the day I was turning 6, and you could tell that he sealed my soul into it. My dad and I don't really talk much, because we both live in two different worlds, and you could say he is a V.I.P, so that makes him a little bit more important than me.

But I'm cool with it, because the first and last time we spoke to each other was when I was turning 6, and I really did feel fulfilled-- because whether he was different or not, my mom didn't lie to me that I didn't have a father. Hades is my legitimate father-- and I'm never going to deny that.

Although I still wonder how he met my mom, all the way from the underworld.

I stretched my blade to the dim moonlight, but the light that refracted from it was stinging, just like me tonight, black plasma was not hungry.

There were other names I could've chosen for this blade, I even wrote down a list of suggestions.

Dragon eater

Assasin

Christopher

Three thongs

Stray killer.

But I decided to name it Black plasma, because it turned red blood to black whenever it cut flesh.

And when I say 'FLESH', I really mean 'FLESH'. I didn't know when certain things began happening in Kuyo, but I did grow up realizing that there were a minimum but yet an unending amount of werewolves in town, and they were usually disguising themselves as humans-- like I am. But I have the doubts that many of the Kuyons know that werewolves aren't the only thing lurking in these streets, matter-of-factly, I come across at least one monster every night, and werewolves are rarely a show up.

The tree leaves swayed beautifully as the breeze calmly touched their petals, but one of the trees shook gurgily like it was having a diarrhea, there was something behind that tree. Perhaps-- another monster, I laid flat on the floor and stared with a stone eye at the creasing moon, trying to imagine if the earth was big enough to contain my dreams.

I had always had a dream, and only Hades got to know about it.

"Hades,"

"Yes my son?" My dad replied me, still trying to observe the formalities. I looked over at the moon and thought of why I called him in the first place.

"Are you a hero or a villain?"I finally remembered.

"What makes the two different, Christoph?"

"Well, the hero fights for a good purpose, while the villain fights for bad." I wasn't taking note of how scary like he appeared, or how his whole body kept emitting black incense, I was just a curious little boy who had barely lived 5 years and 1 month, reading superhero fictional comics.

"But they both 'fight' right?" He remarked. "Everybody has a purpose for their habits, and you can only see people from your own perspectives, sometimes, the hero might not know whether he is the hero or not, and sometimes, the villain might not know whether he is the villain or not. Do you now understand son?"

"No, I don't." as unobservant as I was, my dad still chuckled.

"You'll do when you grow older."

Hades let out a comfortable sigh at the sky, at that moment, I knew I wasn't the only one cherishing this father-to-son moment.

"Christoph, do you have a life-focus?"

"Uh?" That question was too hard for me to expatiate, not because I didn't know who I wanted to be, but because I didn't understand the meaning of 'LIFE-FOCUS'.

"Oh, I mean your dream, your ambition." Hades was more explicit.

"Oh yes, I want to become a superhero!!" I yelled at the stars in excitement.

A son a death-- as a superhero? I told you, my dreams are way too big for the earth's containment. But maybe if I imagined I am a superhero, I would feel better.

With my fantasy dreams, I stood up and clenched harder to black plasma. If only tonight could be more crazier.

"My name is Lord Christopher of Kuyo Kingdom, and I am here to put things in their right place, show thyself you cowardly monster and feel my wrath, yah!!"

But maybe I should just have stayed low, because the monster that came out from the trees was way bigger than I expected.
