Chapter 35: Really Exposed (1)

As we were on our way to the grounds, my mind now had something new to worry about… the results.

With each shaky step towards the grounds, the tension in my stomach kept growing, making me nervous and I kept rubbing my palms all over my jeans to rub off the sweat.

"Nervous huh? Don't be", he smiled and I put on a nervous smile.

"I'm not?" I said but I wasn't sure if myself.

I wanted to sound confident but it gave an adverse effect.

"You know my mother used to always tell me that there's always a reason behind a certain event happening and those reasons are always good".

He flashed me a grin that looked drunken, I think he was doing it on purpose? But then I stopped dead in my spot, the vision of the dream started reiterating in my mind and paused on the part where Alpha Carl was saying exactly the same lines to me.
