70 Search and Rescue, Part Seven

As the Fiends noticed the newcomers, the situation turned desperate in an instant. 

To his credit, Gareth was quick on his feet, trying to think of a solution even as Fiends rushed to their positions. 

"Secure the artifact! Get it away from the explorers!" He called out.

Lianna could see where he was coming from. They'd come here to save them, after all. And, driving the Fiends' attention from them was probably the best way to do that. 

But, how would they save themselves? 

Xi tried to embody the answer to that question. 

In a flash, the lady dashed up to a nearby Fiend. Her right arm was suddenly coated in lightning. 

Using it like a sword, she began shredding that Fiend's body. The rest of the enemies, and the rest of the adventurers, began moving. 

A girl with a greatsword ran up, positioning herself between Lianna and an incoming Fiend. 

Lianna scanned her class and saw that she was a Paladin.
