Children of Mana, Part Twenty-Eight

{Zura}

Zura lay sprawled out on the bed in the inn's bedroom, her mind drifting in the quiet solitude of the room. She hadn't had much of a chance to just relax like this lately.

The gentle hum of the bustling city outside seeped through the walls, along with the hearty laughs coming from downstairs, a comforting backdrop to her thoughts.

Suddenly, some quick knocking on the door jolted her from her reverie, causing her to sit up with a start.

With cautious steps, she made her way to the door, her senses alert for any sign of danger.

As she swung open the door, she was met with the sight of Vayn standing in the hallway, her expression stern yet faintly amused.

"Should know better than to answer the door without a weapon drawn, Zura," Vayn scolded her playfully, her lips twitching into a small smirk. "You never know what might be waiting on the other side."
