1 Awake

The first thing I realised is that I can talk. The second thing was that there was a massive red lightning bolt in the sky.

[Transmigration complete. Host has been placed in the location with the highest concentration of negative energy]

I found myself in a forest. The tree's tall as buildings and thick as doors. They looked like massive Pine trees, or something similar.

"DO YOU WANT TO START A WAR WITH TALEN, VALERON!!!".

"You touched my sister. Even if god himself tried, I would still kill him, let alone you Malakota."

A voice thundered in the sky. I looked back up to once again see massive red lightning bolts, as well as a massive skeletal dragon. The red lightning constantly struck the skeletal dragon, its bones charred and cracked. It looked ready to collapse at any moment.

"You can only blame yourself Malakota. I really wish I could see your expression upon your second death. Oh well.".

"VALERON, BECAUSE OF YOU TALEN AND CYRON WILL ONCE AGAIN GO TO WAR. I HOPE YOU DIE THE CRUELEST OF DEATHS!!".

The dragon finally broke apart, crumbling. One final bolt came down, and the bones turned to ash. After some time, the clouds separated and the sun shined down. There were actually 2 suns. At some point, a white fog enveloped the forest. It was cold, but I felt comfortable.

Ok system, explain. WHAT THE FUCK!? Why did you throw me into a world about to start a massive fucking war?

[Host, out of all 43,863,123 worlds within range of transmigration, this world was deemed to be the most suitable for the hosts growth. The amount of negative energy generated from Malakotas death made this area a paradise for the host's growth. The war will cause many deaths and lots of negative energy as well. This forest is also relatively safe. These conditions affected the systems decision.]

Ok so at least there's some logic behind it. So what now? Do I get a tutorial?

[Host, it is recommended that you check your status.]

Alright, Status.

Status:

Name: Theo Harrison

Race: Human

Level: 1

Experience: 0/100

Hp: 100/100

Mp: 45/45

Stats: Strength 7, Agility 5, Intelligence 3, Endurance 5

Skills: {T1 Negative Energy Absorption} {T1 Raise Lesser Undead}

Ok, not bad. I have 2 skills, my stats could be worse. But whats with my Intelligence? I'm not that fucking stupid am I?

[Intelligence relates to the quantification of you mana. It has no bearing on you mental ability.]

Then why the hell is it called Intelligence? Can I change the Status layout?

[The status screen is the hosts body and abilities quantified. If the host wishes to change it, it is naturally possible.]

Alright i'll change it up a little. Ok that should be good. Status

Name: Theo

Race: Human

Level: 1

XP: 0/100

Hp: 100/100. Mp 45/45

Stats: STR 7, AGI 5, WIS 3, END 5

Skills: {T1 NEA} {T1 Raise Lesser Undead}

Much better. Ok now lets see what these skills do.

{NEA}: [The host can absorb ambient Negative Energy to Gain 10 XP per hour to level up. The user can also use the negative energy to become an undead. It will cost 5 Mana per Hour]

{T1 Raise Lesser Undead}: [The host can raise various lesser undead. More are unlocked at higher levels. Currently the available summons are Skeletons for 5 MP, Zombies for 5 MP, and Ghosts for 5 MP. Currently the host can have 2 Summons at once]

Ok, So i'm a necromancer. Pretty cool. I have three summons out the gate. Although two at once isn't the best, it's better than one. As for becoming an undead, that's another story. System, can you give me the pros and cons of becoming undead?

[Of course Host! Remember, the netherworld system exists to help the host on your journey. The pros include immortality, even higher affinity with negative energy, No need for sleep, food or water, immunity to dark magic, and a stronger physical body. The cons include an immense weakness to holy magic, a slight aversion to sunlight, a suppression of your emotions, a much less appealing physical form, and an ingrained desire to kill living beings.]

Ok, so is an option. I don't like the sound of that right now, so i'm gonna pass on becoming undead. My luck is great. The systems in fiction are sarcastic, unhelpful and insulting in a lot of novels I used to read. I actually got the one helpful system. Maybe this won't be so bad.

[It would defeat the purpose of the system if it did not do its best to help. Those systems the host mentioned sound defective.]

Who knows. Good news is that I can just chill here for a few years and get a lot stronger with NEA. Perhaps that undead option may be more efficient than I thought. On any note, ill summon a puppet to protect me and gather some negative energy. I'll just summon a skeleton.

A portal opened in the ground, and a single skeleton crawled out. It had a rusty sword and that's it. Well, better than nothing I guess. I Could feel a connection with the skeleton. I knew I could order it through the connection. It was instinctive, as if i'd known it for all my life.

Alright, I got 40 MP left. That's 8 Hours and 80 XP. i'll be 20 off from Level 2. Oh well, its free of effort. I can be patient.

9 hours later, I was feeling drained, as if I was missing something. I'll get over it. I had done some inquiring in these 9 hours. It doesn't take MP to maintain a summon, just to call it. The skeleton is fairly quick, but it doesn't have very much in the strength department. Its sword is rusty as all all hell, but it can cut, somewhat. It does the job I guess.

The system isn't all helpful though. There are some restrictions. I can ask for some not important stuff, like the name of the forest im in, Yalen Forest, but it wont tell be about the skills I will unlock later or any secrets of the world, like who is the strongest. It's still better than nothing though.

My passive Mp regeneration is 10 per hour, or about 0.16 per minute. Could be much much worse. I unsummoned the skeleton, and summoned a zombie and ghost. *Sigh*, back to 0 mana. The zombie is on the slower side, but much stronger. It has a club, which at least makes its strength more useful. The ghost is slow as shit, weak as shit, and I can't see it. It is incorporeal though. As long as there is no magic barrier, it can go pretty much anywhere unseen. It has basically 0 combat ability. I can see through the eyes of my summons though, so it may well be the most useful of all my current summons.

Well, I see no need to leave the forest. I can basically passively gain strength here, and use my summons to find food and water, and get strong with no effort. Status!

I wonder what this will look like in 6 months. Guess i'll find out then. My first day in this new world wasn't that bad. I know more now, and I think I have a chance to pursue the peak. I never want to go back to that sea of nothing I was in when I died. So, time to start the grind.
