Chapter 2

After the hug Ayo watched as chopper dropped a teddy in his ward, it was a bunny. He was a bit shocked to see a teddy but that was not really on his mind now. "I dropped bunny here for you feel free to talk to him, I'll come back and check up on you" then chopper left the room to go take her medication.

Ayo was still speechless the sign he had been looking for was it Chopper? she had come at the very moment he tries to take his life and funny enough she looked like his daughter that died from the fire outbreak. His house got burnt by the flames of that fire outbreak, parts of his body including his left hand and his chest still had burnt marks on them.

Ayo noticed something in his pocket, when he removed it, he saw his wife necklace. It made him cry again but he realised that she had gave it to him to repair it two days ago, by just looking at it and remembering his family he also realised this was not what his family would have wanted, For him to take his own life, ñõ! they would have wanted him to live on.

Ayo made a vow that day as he hold his wife necklace to his chest, it was a will to live on for his family and repay Chopper in anyway he can for saving his life.

After a while Chopper came back with a cardboard box and she picked up her bunny as she entered the room. Ayo wondered what was in the box. "come Mr bunny I want to show you something" Chopper said as she left the room. As he followed Chopper he did not really think much, as he followed Chopper he noticed how she interact with staffs and other patients, like she was the owner of the Hospital. How could some kid talk like she owned the place Ayo said to himself.

"Charley don't forget your scan is by 3:00pm today" Chopper said as she waved Charley. "Yusuf you forgot to iron your lab coat again!" "there was a power outage again Chopper" Yusuf replied with a frown on his face. "Mrs Kemi you're always donating blood every month but you're still looking as beautiful and healthy as ever" Chopper winked at Kemi with a smile on her face "Thank you dear" Kemi replied while holding a big bottle of milk she was about to drink.

Chopper and Ayo arrived at the roof top of the Hospital as they sat down, they noticed the not so peaceful scene of the busy Lagos street. Hold ups,the loud voices of people murmuring to themselves as they past by, all the smoke coming from vehicles as they pass by.

"My bunny I come here once in a while its kinda like my quiet place, I know there's a lot of notice and disturbances here but when I think I hardly notice my surroundings, at that moment I truly feel at peace with myself" she said all this as she leaned back on her chair. Ayo was shocked yo see a kid who was this composed and well spokened like chopper. She was like an adult in a child's body.

" where are your friends kid?,you should be playing with them instead of coming here to think about life". "My friends are all working right now and I can't disturb the patients all the time, I only disturb you because you looked like you need company"Chopper answered his question only for Ayo to ask another one " so how long will you be staying here for, or till when will you be discharged ".

" Mr bunny I live here, this Hospital is my hone since when I was an infant. The nurses said my mom abandoned me Herr when I was just a baby, they took me to an orphanage home but I was to sick and weak to be in an orphanage home. Intact I can't stay more than three days away from a hospital. I have a weak body, am a sickler and Dr Chioma says that I have a weak heart too that needs to be checked on at least once a day. So the Hospital took me in, the staffs, managers, and long term patients are my family".

Ayo was heart broken by this, he realised that Chopper was a kif who had no idea who are her real parents , she hardly knew what the outside world was like she had little to no friends of her age. Ayo felt stupid for trying to take his life, if a child like Chopper was living in this kind of conditions and still saving life's, who was he to take his own life. Ayo had only one thing in mind that evening and it was to find a way to help Chopper out. He did not know how but he would find a way to make Chopper live a better life.
