A Huge Storm

Year of 1971

Because of rain that kept pouring for a week already, the whole country was having a tremendous flood everywhere. Adding with windy storm that also made trees and house roofs dislodged from their original place, the people suffered a lot from the mishap.

The country suffered much loses, not only the lose from ruined buildings everywhere, but also lots of death every single minutes. It was so frightening to even imagine.

Only few places were safe in entire country but there were already full with crowds. Even some people had to sleep in their boats, with water of flood was under them...

Then in some place, a teenage boy who just lost his parents, in his boat alone looking at the rainy sky above. His tears already mixed with the rain but he could not forget about his parents who left him.

He was originally a boy who was born in rich family, living in a big house at foothill. Neither he nor his family thought the news of flood would come to them so they just lived in their house without preparing.

But then at one night, he heard his mother screamed and once he opened his eyes from sleep, he saw water already entered his house very fast. Both of his parents seem so flustered running in the water, grabbing anything and put them in a boat. He did not know where they got the boat, but the boy just followed his father's order to get into the boat which was outside the house.

His parents put everything; few collections of money, important documents, few clothes, and few food and water bottles. He wanted to help, but his mother stopped him and told him to stay in the boat.

But then, few minutes later after the both parents took their last thing and went to the boat, a very huge stream of water like a wave, came from east direction and hit the bodies of his parents, making they lost their stability and drowned to the water.

The boy wanted to help but then because of the stream, the rope of the boat to his house broken and the boat was being washed away from his house in a quick rate. The boy could not do anything and just like that, he could not see anymore the glimpse of his house and his parents too...

After few days, he was in the boat, just followed everywhere his boat going to by the flood. He did not know where did he go, but surely he could not see any nearby boat for these few days. He lost.

In the rain, the boy then sat on his boat and screamed out of blue. "PLEASE STOP THE RAIN. I BEG... I-I beg please return my parents too.." Then he cried again for how many times he did not count again.

Suddenly from afar, he heard roars. But weird, his surroundings were only water and few of leaves from tall trees, but where did the sounds came from...

And then he saw two shiny things moved to his boat under the water. Both of the things came nearer and nearer, and he could see one shiny thing actually gave the golden silhoutte and another one gave silver silhoutte. But he did not sure what actually they are except in his mind, he thought they were monsters.

The boy wanted to run away, making the boat swaying unsteadily, but he got not where else to go, so he just stayed at the corner of the boat.

Then he felt his bottom boat hit something in the water, but the boat did not sway anymore. But suddenly moved by itself. He was restless, seeing his boat move to somewhere by something.

With a wonder of what actually brought his boat right now, he wanted to look at it. He slowly moved his head to the surface of water and could see a very long scale neck like a snake and two huge golden horns at the end of the neck.

Also actually the water under his boat looked a bit darker than usual and gave a bit vibe of heat. The boy's body froze and he fainted with his head on the edge of the boat's wood.

In his unconscious, he then could feel two cold but delicate hands of human put his head back properly in the boat and the rain did not touch him anymore. "May Lord God hears your pray." A sweet voice of a woman whispered in his sleep.

Few hours then, the boy woke up from his faint but this time he saw crowds of people beside him. He's now at one of rescue places and these people're the victims of the flood.

Everyone was chaotic and beside him was a pair of parents with their five children. But the wife was actually looking very sad while rubbing her stomach. The husband kept comforting his wife.

While he kept staring, a boy in his age came to him and gave a bottle of drink and a pack of snack. "They lost their child. When they came, the wife was bleeding a lot and she had a miscarry." "Oh."

"I am sorry. I think I disturb you but hi I am Dennis. I helped bringing you from your boat yesterday night with the others." The other boy greeted him while shoved his hand.

"Hi I am Neil. Thank you for helping me. I must have burden you guys to bring me here in the heavy rain." Neil, the boy who lost his parents in the flood, shook Dennis' hand and invited him to sit beside him.

"Oh yes you were fainted at that time, but the rain has actually stopped before we found you."

"Stop? Really?" Neil was so shocked because he was sure the rain was still heavy cats and dogs before he was fainted. Wait, faint...

Neil then grabbed Dennis' collar in sudden. "Tell me. Could you guys see anything when you helped me?"

"Woah woah calm down. What's wrong? And no we did not find anything. Only you and your items in the boat." Neil realised his rudeness and put down his hands.

"Yesterday I found-" Neil looked at Dennis but then Neil's mind said to not tell anyone as surely no one believed him if he said he found monster. Especially he was still safe and sound though he encountered it.

"Found? Found what?"

"A-A woman?" Yes, though he wanted to say about the monster, but he did too heard a woman's voice.

"Woman?" Dennis suddenly laughed. "I am sorry but I think it's your dream. We did not see any woman or anyone with you. But is the woman your girlfriend tho? No wonder you seemed anxious."

"No no. she's not. But you see, nevermind. Maybe I was just dreaming like you said." Neil just showed his bitter smile while opening the pack of snack.

'Is it? But I clearly see the water monster and hear the woman's voice. Ha maybe I was too stressful in the boat alone for days. But weird, how did I manage to come to this rescue place when I was stranded in the nowhere forest...'
