Killer's Remorse

Draco Called for a cab to the Strikers exchange building, which was located on the other side of the street from the strikers Association. He waited till the cab pulled around to find it was the same cab driver that had let him ride for free a week ago. The man looked out his window frantically as if looking for a certain person. When he saw that it was Draco that was heading for the cab, the man's face visibly relaxed.

Draco hopped into the cab and told the man where he wanted to go. The cab driver looked into the Draco's face for a minute looking for something, before he sighed and put the car into drive. Draco could see the man's eyes on him as they drove as would watch the road and take glances at Draco through the mirror, and every time he did he would search for something. Draco didn't didn't know what though.

They made it to their destination in 1 hour and 25 minutes, and Draco thought it was one of the more awkward drives he had been in. The man stopped his car Infront of the building but wouldn't say how much the ride cost and Draco didn't know if he should ask or wait for the guy to stop staring at him and tell him. Draco was starting to get annoyed when he suddenly looked up to see if his Title could be used, a part of Draco wanting to know how he could use this man.

Draco froze even before finishing the motion, he was repulsed that he had justified absorbing this man all because he was getting annoyed by him. Draco started to get out of the car and that's when the man decided to speak. "If you ever nee-" the man was cut off by Draco throwing stuff into his lap through his driver window.

The man was shocked, his passenger had just been on the other side of the car not three seconds before, and now he was already on the Driver's side. Before the man could speak, Draco said. "This should be enough." and walked away into the building.

The man was dumbstruck, he had seen the boy's face on the way to the field. It was full of excitement and anticipation, it hurt to look at as his grandson had been the same way before dying inside that very same field. But this time his face was like stone, it reminded him of the looks the newbies in his military squad got after taking their first life. Until he had looked up at his Title. Then it was like he saw a ghost.

The old man decided that he wasn't going to be able to help anytime soon so he brought his mind back to the present. Looking down he saw three little glowing gems in his lap. "Spinewebs?!?" the old man was blown away. He had hunted before as a guide before he had gotten a family and quit the striker business, so he knew gems when he saw them. And judging by the size of them he would have to guess they were of the lower quality, but even then, he knew the low quality Spinewebs still sold for 200 dollars per gem.

The man looked at the other two, finding them to be in the same condition. "He paid six hundred dollars...you poor boy, what did you go through?" Draco watched him pull away after he inspected what he figured were the gems. He had cast <predator's tracking> on the man when he had thrown the gems into his lap, In case he wanted to return them to him. That way he could avoid him.

Draco felt humiliated by his thoughts and knew three gems weren't nearly enough for what he had considered, even if for just a second. That left him with eight Spinewebs left. The seven from the Goblins and the one big one from the Spiderling. He got up to the teller and as he opened his inventory to drop the Spinewebs onto the tellers table, when he saw strange clothes he hadn't seen before, and then it hit him. 'Scar's and Ann's clothes and belongings were moved to my inventory.'

Draco stood there for a minute just staring at the equipment lost to the world as his mind spiraled down into dark thoughts. Draco heard ringing in his ears before he was grabbed from behind, a hand landed on his shoulder. Draco was thrown back to the clearing in the woods, and Scar had his blade onto Draco's shoulder.

Draco whipped around, grabbing the Scar's arm that was holding the small blade and slammed his own arm into the man's elbow. He heard a crack, the scout screamed, however, Draco wasn't done. This person had tried to kill him. It was within his rights to defend himself. To snuff out the evil that was going to snuff him out. Draco charged at the scout, reaching for his knife but it wasn't there at his thigh.

Draco was confused why didn't he have his weapons on him. Suddenly, something hit his temple from his left. His head snapped to the side and he was sent sliding across the floor. "Get a hold of yourself!" The words kept echoing in his head, but they sounded like he was under water.

Draco shouted at the scout through the tears that appeared. "You were trying to kill me! I was defending myself." He looked down at his hands which were covered in blood, and he knew that it was the blood of Ann, and he knew she hadn't done anything to him. He went after her for her Title alone, nothing more, and nothing less.

And that fear in her eyes. It was genuine panic. And he had loved it. He had fed upon it like fuel to a flame. "You were going to kill me…" his vision went black and he fell to his knees before he broke down sobbing. His hands were shaking and he just kept repeating the same line over and over. "They were going to kill me." suddenly the darkness that surrounded him flooded with light.

Draco shielded his eyes before looking up to see that he was kneeling inside the S.E building. He looked around and saw people looking at him with a variety of expressions. A couple of distaste. Some of disbelief, and a lot of pity. The pity came from the older people he noticed, while the couple faces he saw that showed distaste were middle aged strikers. And the faces of disbelief came from those around his age.

"Honey, can you hear me?" a soft voice that sounded like music came into his ear from the left. He turned his face to see a younger woman in robes looking down at him. He looked at her and almost gave in to the consistent voice in his head telling him to see if her Title sounded good, but stopped himself. Feeling ashamed, he turned his head down to the floor. "Its okay, don't be ashamed, you were hallucinating. From what I can tell, it was caused by the lack of food and from what I overheard, your killer's remorse."

Draco sat there for a second without speaking or moving. The girl standing above him watched him, not at all afraid. She had been called in on these types of matters before. Newly appointed Strikers will kill their first monster and then have P.T.S.D from it. Seeing the monster in everyday life, it caused many new strikers to back out of the business all together, which she personally thought was a loss.

She waited for Draco's emotions to settle down, they were like a raging sea of guilt and most of all, disgust. But what confused her was that there were three different emotions coming off of him but they were so strong it was like he was thinking each one with his whole being. There was pleasure. But not sexual, almost like they were pleased with what they were seeing.

Next was acceptance, like the person that the emotion was being transmitted from understood what and why the person they were targeting did what they did and wasn't mad at them for doing it. Almost like they looked at the person's every desire and flaw and accepted it wholeheartedly.

Lastly was understanding. This one was different from the other two. This one was like if the pleasure was bad and the acceptance was good, understanding would be a neutral force. It was basically emotionally sending the words, "I understand why you did it and why you felt that way, you have no reason to feel guilty for it, we are proud of you." Each emotion was so strong that she was about to cancel her ability before it overwhelmed her, however what happened next amazed her. The three emotions started bombarding the boy with their own emotions, and his guilt started to lesson. The woman thought to herself. 'Dissociative identity disorder?'
