Fast forward again.

2008

A man dressed in a white robe and a black T-shirt was slowly opening a gray steel door with a key card. The door led to a imaculate white corridor, dotted with clear glass.

These glasses were holed to allow air to enter the cells.

The man was a police officer for the last 8 years, he was praised for his cool head in any situation. His friends called him Jhon.

This was supposed to be a normal investigation, but somehow he was nervous.

For the first time in years he cursed his cool head for failling him.

He was smarter than any investigator and thus, his career grew steadily. The reason he was stressed was because of the charges against the man he was interogating in this crazy place:

murder of both, wife and son.

Flashbacks appeared in his mind and his heart swelled in anger. He cursed again his cool head silently and walked along the corridor at a steady pace.

From time to time, a prisoner would cry, plead or shout at him. However, he didn't bat an eye.

The more he approached the end of the corridor, the crazier the prisoners were, the more they would shout. Until he finaly reached the clear cell of the murderer, at the end of the hallway.

When he did, everyone shut up. The sudden eerie silence treathen to burst his ear-drums.

He quicly glanced inside, trough the clear glass.

Inside, there was one person.

He approximated his height at 5 foot 4.

The person seemed average, if you ignored the dark circles under his eyes and his weird leaning posture.

His hair was messy and he fidgetted constently. What's more, he was rubbing his index finger against his thumb non-stop.

<So it's him.>

<He killed his wife and son with a knife.>

The two of them locked their eyes into one another.

<This is the eyes of a murderer.>

<For a while he was going to get away with it>

<But now he's here>

<And he wont get away>

The interrogator took the initiative to start the conversation with a neutral voice.

-Hello mister ....?

-...

The prisoner continued to stare at him. Like a statue, he didn't move an inch.

-I dont recall your name?

Jhon wasn't as confident so he asked almost quietly. This time, the captive responded, in a low but steady voice.

-I'm pretty sure you have acces to this information... Why would you ask?

<Why does he seem so genuinely confused?>

Jhon frowned and the prisoner brought a hand to his chin. The frown on his face disappeared and he decided to take a different path.

- I know you killed them, everyone knows.

This is not what I'm here for. Actually a secret

investigator named B asked for me to interogate you.

The panic the policeman wanted to see on the face of the inmate: Alex, didn't show even for a second. He just kept staring at him.

-...

Alex seemed to have an inate talent for killing conversations.

<That died down quickly>

<Did I do semething wrong?>

Suddenly Alex let out a gasp. It would probably be more accurate to say that he seemed to be inhaling as much axygen as possible, while opening his eyes extremly wide.

- I am shoked.

Then he returned to a neutral expression.

Jhon couldn't help but think that Alex was macking fun of him.

-This isn't time for games!

- Obviously. Why would you think this is a game?

<Is he dumb!?>

This time Jhon was really angered by the oblivious inmate, but before he could open his mouth, Alex spoke again.

- You have killed someone before right?

Jhon instently denied it with a straight face he didn't have before: I have never killed.

- But as a police officer, it is pretty common. Are you sure?

- I have never, not like you. Monster.

<Why these words all of a sudden?>

Jhon kept a straight face the entire time.

- Not like me?

Alex smiled for the first time since Jhon arrived. The smile was enough to send a chill down his spine.

<Why is that what he pays attention to?>

Alex spoke again: You have never killed or just not like me?

- I already said I never killed anything.

-Any... thing?

This time Alex spoke very quietly, almost mumbling to himself.

- Exactly! Nothing.

- Do you have a wife, Jhon?

Jhon was so shoked by the sudden change in subject, he didn't notice that he hadn't introduced himself yet, nor did he notice that the conversation had changed it's iterrogator. He said, very quietly: I-I dont.

- Really?

- I do not.

Alex then open his eyes wide again and stared into Jhon's eyes.

He didn't look elsewere and they locked eyes once again.

Alex continued.

- I was very close to her you know. I sincerly loved her. But she didn't love me...

She was having sex with another man.

Isn't that sad?

- Y-yes

<Does he realise what he is saying?>

- Indeed. And I was sad to. My son knew what she did, but he didn't say anything.

This time Jhon commented insted of responding.

- That's wrong to.

<So it's more than sad now.>

- I taught so to. So I punished them. It makes sence right?

- Y-you killed them! That's different!

- Bad people get sentenced to death, what was the difference?

<Cant say they're good people now.>

At this point, Jhon was trapped in his earlier answers and because no one else was around.... he answered.

<I suggest you be smart about this...>

- T-t-there is none! They deserved it!

<How stupid>

<I wasn't even done>

<I tought only scientists and smart people wore white vests, I over-estimated you.>

Alex encouraged him to talk more: I see that you understand?

- Yes! I-i wasn't sure before, but now I know.

What I did 5 years ago wasn't wrong.

She was a bitch and she deserved it!

<That was easier than expected>

<Poor guy was eaten from the inside and jumped on the first occasion to get validation>

Later on, Jhon was convicted for the murder of his wife and son by the local police, who heard everything trough a microphone hidden on... B.

Alex was a false name created by B to desgise himself and talk to Jhon.

He had chosen the same crime as the suspect to build a link between them.

All of it was going way better than he had expected.

He tought that today was only the first contact, but the dumbass confessed.

English is not my first language, sorry for the bad spelling.

This is a test chapter, but I still hope you enjoy the introduction of B.

I know I did.
