Chapter 99: Unfriendly Dinner

I opened my eyes as my blurry vision started to clear up. I faced the wooden ceiling and the moonlight passed through the open window. Even though my eyes were begging me to close them again, I tried to stay awake. It feels like I had enough rest to not go back to bed, but I'm still a little drowsy.

To remove the sleepiness, I moved out of the room and tried to get some fresh air. As soon as I opened the door and went out, Cainne also came out from his door. I looked at him with a shocked face, while he also did the same. I didn't expect that we would come out at the same time.

Based on his face, it seems that he never slept yet. He looked tired. The glow of his golden eyes was slowly fading, telling me that he was almost running out of energy. I couldn't be able to notice since his skin had always been pale like mine, but that doesn't mean he showed no sign of exhaustion.
