89 Chapter 89

He looked around in a slight panic for something he could possibly use to free him, aware that he was running out of time.

Without thinking, he wrapped a hand around the cuff and tugged harshly, he didn't run the risk of hurting Leon because of the furry material lining the interior of the cuffs.

He clearly didn't think it through because a couple moments later, there was a gash in his palm but the cuff had broken, Leon's arm falling to the bed.

Ethan made his way back to his cottage after getting all that he needed, he went past a couple trees hiding his cottage from the rest of the town before he saw it.

"Fuck shit!" He yelled out a curse, dropping the bags of groceries he had been carrying, tearing out into a dead run.

He should have been more cautious, he shouldn't have left Leon alone. How the fuck did they even find them?

His heart thumped painfully when he got to the door and saw it broken in, heading straight for the bedroom.

He pulled out a knife from his belt, it was easier to walk around with it and he didn't need a licence for a dagger.

He walked quietly into the room to find Darian bent over the cuffs he had put on Leon and he snapped, charging at him with the knife.

Darian was still distracted, so he aimed for his neck, there was no way he would survive a knife embedded in his throat.

He didn't get that far though, Jaxon had followed behind him, smacking him with violence on the back of the head with the bat.

Ethan was instantly knocked out, falling away to the ground unconscious.

Darian turned around in alarm, gaping at the scene behind him.

Jaxon just twirled the bloody bat in his hand. "What was that again about me getting hurt?" He asked sarcastically after catching sight of his bloody palm, moving past Ethan to get to Leon.

Darian just kicked the knife away from Ethan's hold, he couldn't be too cautious, he had gotten distracted and had nearly been unalived.

"Is he okay?" Jaxon asked in a shaky voice, climbing on the bed to get to Leon, he still kept the bat close to him.

"He will be." Darian said in a serious tone.

Jaxon nodded, getting off again to get clothes for Leon and something he could rip to tie up Darian's bleeding palm so he didn't splash blood everywhere.

When Leon was decent and Darian bandaged, Jaxon cuddled right up to Leon, comforting him because the loud scuffle that had just happened had upset him.

Darian got busy with tying up Ethan, it helped that he had a variety of cuffs and ropes to pick from.

It made his gut twist uncomfortably because if they hadn't found Leon, all these would have been used on him.

Something caught his eyes as he was positioning Ethan to tie him up, Jaxie had hit him really hard, hopefully the sad fuck didn't die from the blow.

"Did you know if Ethan had a tattoo?" Darian asked, black ink peeking out the edge of his rucked shirt.

Jaxon frowned at this, rubbing a hand over Leon's back even though he couldn't tell if he recognized him or not.

"No, he didn't have any before leaving Pine Creek that's for sure."

Darian pulled up his shirt and his eyes went wide, there was a large letter 'L' running up his spinal column, the bottom part of the letter a couple inches above his waist.

It was clearly for Leon and if that hadn't been a dead give away, a single line of an odd shade of blue threaded through the upper part of the letter.

Darian had seen it far too often to not know what it represented, Leon's eyes.

He badly wanted to break his spine so that they would have to ruin the tattoo to fix it but he doubted Jaxon would appreciate that but then again, Jaxon had really been planning to cave Ethan's skull in with that blow so he couldn't be too sure.

When he was all done securing him, he called Head Warrior Theo.

"We got him." He said simply to the other.

"Thanks be to the goddess." Theo muttered quickly.

"I'll still need you guys to come down here to get Ethan and clean up the place, pretty sure you'll find your reserve money somewhere in here." He added, hanging up.

He glanced at the bed where Jaxon was murmuring sweetly to Leon and he took his first deep breath since he woke up with that weird feeling in his gut.

He knew he had said that Ian shouldn't come but something made him realise that whatever Ethan had to say they would want to hear it.

"Yo, Ian." He said into the phone when the other picked.

"Tell me you have him." Ian's panicked voice came through, it sounded like he was pacing.

"Yeah we do and I think you might want to come down to Cone to hear what Ethan has to say." He added.

Ian agreed without hesitation, deciding to come down with both Alphas because naturally Virgil's office had become crowded with everyone.

After spending such a short time in Midnight Pack he had started to forget just how big of a family they had back in Pine Creek.

"Are we going now?" Jaxon asked with wide eyes, looking exhausted.

"Yeah." He murmured, coming over to kiss his forehead and without hesitation, Leon's forehead too.

He didn't feel sleepy but he could relate to Jaxie's exhaustion, he just wanted to be back at the apartment, in Jaxie's bed with the both of them, cuddling the rest of the day away.

How much longer was this vacation for again?

He gently picked up Leon from Jaxon's arms, cradling him close, he couldn't believe that they had almost lost him for good.

He glanced down at him, noting for the first time that all of his piercings were in.

"I think Ethan managed to drug us with the takeout, he must have put in some type of slow acting sedative..." Jaxon was already starting to analyse the situation.
