"Thank you. Good Day, Sir" The female cashier smiled at him after getting the money.

"Same to you." A man with brown shoulder-length hair and stubble as a beard said back and packed everything into a bag and went off out of the grocery shop.

Being outside he looked around and saw it started to rain a little bit.

"Damn, I guess I won't be getting home with dry clothes."

The person started to walk with a slightly hunched back along the street. At some point, the rain became heavier and the man escaped under the roof of a bus station.

Sitting down there on the bench he placed his bag to the side and took out a pack of smokes. He took one out and started to smoke.

Then looking at the rain that didn't stop at all he snorted lightly and took out his smartphone.

"Looks like I won't even be in time for the movie. Well, fuck that." He put his phone back into his pocket and heard a weird sound.

Looking around a little bit confusedly where the sound came from he looked around. Then when he hear it again he got even more confused.

He then looked at his phone again if he got any messages but didn't see any new ones.

Yes, the sound he heard close by sounded exactly like the one a messenger app on his phone did.

Being gripped by his curiosity he still looked around and looked for the clearly electronic device that made the sound.

But what he found after looking under another seat was a weird gadget. The man picked it up and analyzed it while still smoking.

"What is this? A Gameboy? It should be an old advance one. But why does it make this sound? Not even the screen is on."

The device still made the same sound while the man put it closer to his ear. But other than it doing that there is no indicator that it is working at all.

So the first thing he obviously tried was flipping the +on+ switch to the side.

And look and behold the screen flashed on and showed the content that was played.

"What the?"

The man looked at the screen and he could see an old-school 16bit display showing something that looked like a fantasy game.

In the middle of the screen, there was a figure moving something like a sword up and down in its small animation cycle and above its head was ADVENTURE shining in golden letters.

Underneath it, there were the typical options like START and CONTINUE. The first shining in a blue hue and the second being grayed out.

"An RPG? It looks rather detailed. Kinda reminds me of Golden Sun or Final Fantasy. But what the hell is that last option? Cheats? It has cheats integrated right from the start?"

There was really CHEATS in capital letters under CONTINUE on the display. The man chuckled a little bit in a sarcastic manner.

"Way to go and say that if the game is too hard and you are too bad you can just go ahead and use them, huh."

But the person's curiosity was now triggered with that obvious provocation. Most of the buttons on the device were pretty self-explanatory.

So he quickly selected START and after the screen faded to dark a window with a blue background appeared with some words on it.

*Please Chose A Name.*

"Well, looks like it starts like Zelda. So I guess I have to use an in-game name. Let's see. I mostly used Azrael in most of my games."

The man stayed silent and thought this through.

"Fuck it. The angel of death it should be." When he tried to write there was a problem. "Wait how do I even write on this thing? There is no alphabet in that window to navigate with the directional-pad."

Looking around the display he noticed that there was a small crack running along the underside of the device and when he put pressure on it from below he could actually slide the display upwards and underneath the display was a mini keyboard.

"So its kinda like an old mobile phone as well?" The man raised one brow and then put in the collum his chosen name.

*Is Azrael Correct?*

The game asked again to reconfirm his name and he chose the YES option.

*Chose Your Family Name*

"Now this is new. The bad thing is I never was good at family names. Well, may as well just use that name from that show I saw a few days ago."

*Is Locke Correct?*

The man just shrugged and chose YES once more.

*Welcome, Azrael Locke*

*Generating Status....*

After it loaded for a second a figure was seen on the display just standing there with its idle animation.

What creeped out the man was that the figure had a cigarette in its mouth and the cigarette was also animated with glowing every few frames.

The man frowned and looked at the display suspiciously. He even took his own cigarette and looked at it. Then he shook his head.

"What the hell am I even thinking? No way in hell is that going to be what I think it is. Damn, this randomly generated figure nearly made me think its really me inside there. Don't make me scared you stupid piece of plastic."

The man, of course, tried to rationalize the appearance of the figure inside the display.

"But wasn't this supposed to be a fantasy game?" He clicked on the A button and the figure jumped and raised its fist.

Then the figure walked to the left side of the screen and a status screen appeared on the right.

Looking at it the man could see the various information about what seemed to be the figure he created.

Things like name, race, bloodline, blood type, class, and many more.

Browsing through some stuff he saw that a lot of things were empty.

"Interesting, but what does blood type matter? Wait, can I change the current things here?"

He immediately tried it out and he really could change his blood type.

"Wait, what the hell is that? Poisonous blood? Holy blood? Okay, I didn't expect that there was weird shit like that in the options." He glanced over to bloodlines. "Hmm, the figure I created seems to have a bloodline?"

"You got to be kidding me. Now, this is creepy..." The man stared at the device and pondered now if he even should continue with anything at all. He was not as dumb as to think all this is only coincidental. Even the description of the bloodline was the same he thought about...

There is clearly something going on with this thing. And the man was getting heavy second thoughts about it.

Sighing somewhat he actually switched it off and looked around. The rain was already gone while he got distracted by this game device.

Thinking a bit longer the man decided to keep this thing. Maybe, and that is only a maybe, it's just better to keep it as is for now.

So he put it in his pocket and started to walk again.

The thing is when he was not far away from the bus stop a flash of lightning hit his exact position and the man just fell over.

Someone screamed and called the police after seeing him get hit. The Police would later just say it was a very unlucky incident that destroyed various objects together with the bus station.

But because there was no death it was concluded as mother nature playing around.

But what really happened was something else and only a shocked and confused witness was left behind to know the truth.

After being asleep for quite a while the man (Azrael) woke up again and looked around confusedly.

"Was I really struck by fuckin lightning?" He could still remember the loud sound and the immense pain he felt for just a few seconds.

"Where the hell am I now?" Trying to look around he saw that he was near a small dirt road that was leading probably somewhere to civilization.

"Fuck my head hurts..." When he grabbed his head and looked down he could see something lying on the ground. "Isn't that?"

He picked the object up.

"It really is." It was the same device that he used a moment ago. The screen was back up and showing some text.

*Congratulations to choosing your first Adventure: Danmachi*

"Danmachi? Wait, I didn't choose that?" Then it hit him like the thunder before. "Wait! Are you fucking telling me I got teleported by that thunder that hit me?"

Azrael immediately looked at the status of his character and he could see now a certain background behind him. There was actually no background at first but now there was a big ass tower with a city in the background.

"Shit...Wait and what is this?"

"I am so fucking dead if I run even in the lowest of monster..." Azrael was immediately depressed seeing his status information or better to say his combat status? There was actually also a status about his biographic information.

He even saw that he was a 15-year-old boy now. Even his height got reduced by so much.

"God damn it...Now what? Should I just follow this path and hope I get lucky enough to end up in the city? And even then I will probably have to get some lousy paid job since I am so damn weak. I am probably weaker than the average supporter. I wish I had some weird system with me like the ones those novel protagonists get..."

Just then he remembered.

"Right! The cheat option!"

He went straight to that and found it under options in the pause menu in the device. A big smile appeared on the face of Azrael at first but it soon faded when he saw another status screen appear instead of cheats like god mode and such.

"Huh? Damn...What´s this now? There is my information and a search collum? That´s it? Fuck...Don't tell me it's like one of those engines where you have to figure out the cheats yourself? I am actually deep shit bad with those. And as far as I remember you need to track your values one at a time. Not really going to happen with me being this weak."

He sighed and tapped on the screen out of frustration. But suddenly another window opened.

*Change Race?*

Azrael was confused. It looks like the screen was touch and he accidentally pressed on his race.

Now there was a white box where he probably could write something.

Thinking about it Azrael smiled again. "Don't tell me I can do this? Let's see. I hope it works."

He started to write into the collum Saiyan and then confirmed it. The device made a clear ding sound and another window opened up.

*-Major Cheat- for current adventure is now being used up. Processing.*

"Huh?" But before he could say anything else he started to feel an intense pain inside his chest. His body started to heat up and he fell to the ground groaning and shouting in pain.

That kept on for quite a while until Azrael lost his consciousness at some point.

Later he woke up all groggy again and looked at his status. He saw his little sprite character having changed into a black-haired and black-eyed person with a black monkey tail at his behind.

But alas his status only changed slightly with him having new skills but nothing else.

"Did I really get a Zenkai out of that fucking pain I went through? I still suck badly but some of those skills sound interesting. Why can't I get any information on them? I guess I need to ask a Deity to get the Falna and then get the description of my skills. Good thing I at least know something about this world...I think"

With that goal in mind, he starts walking into the distance to his first destination. That being his only option. The first stop is the end of the dirt road.
