No Pain, No Gain

With the cheat activated Azrael started to walk even further inside the Dungeon.

There were many crossroads he had to take that lead him further away from all the other exits that seemed to one way or another lead back up to Orario.

He even saw a few other adventurers passing him by. It actually confused the hell out of Azrael.

How is it possible to have that many doors leading into the dungeon and then at another point after walking deeper you could actually find those entrances that lead back up.

It also was kinda weird that he didn't find many monsters to begin with. Or better to say none at all.

The spawn rate of the monster seems to be so low on level 1 that the monster appears rarely. Or people just somehow manage to kill them fast enough that Azrael didn't encounter them.

With that in mind, Azrael started to sprint around the tunnels and soon came across a path that was actually not on his map.

'Interesting...There isn't supposed to be a pathway here. Did someone deliberately fake information?'

Azrael now moved rather slowly along the unknown path and soon enough he could hear noises made by something.

Through the glittering minerals that were present in the tunnels one could still see rather fine but a torch would make things even better. He should keep that in mind for the next time.

Coming closer to the source of the noise he soon came across a little humanoid being with green skin, big and ugly nose and huge bulging eyes with dark pupils.

'What the? Is that supposed to be a goblin? Damn that thing is fugly.'

It had wrinkly leathery skin and only the important parts were covered lightly with leather.

'Thank god for those shits don't walk around naked...But with that getup, it barely is anything better.'

"Grah!?" The goblin noticed Azrael and looked confusedly at his approach. Identifying him as one, not of his own it immediately raised its short limbs and prepared to jump him with its claws.

Azrael frowned and avoided this engagement from the goblin with a light jump to his back.

'The monsters don't use weapons here? If that is the case I will also not use any.'

There it goes again. His mind was telling him to be fair even though he was going against a being that clearly had its weapons gifted by nature.

The sharp teeth alone looked like they could crunch through bone.

But Azrael didn't care and engaged the little fella.

He tried to kick it but its speed was very agile. It easily avoided him and slashed his leg with its claws.

Azrael winced and gritted his teeth.

When he landed with that leg on the ground again he could feel throbbing pain. But he ignored it because the Goblin was already jumping him again.

With a well-placed punch he hit the mark and send the Goblin back to the ground.

But the Goblin didn't take long to recover and stood up instantly with charging Azrael's leg again.

'Using weak points, are we?'

Azrael smirked and tried to use a lot of power to actually counter that engage with a clean swipe of his targeted leg into its face.

But with a surprising face Azrael saw the Goblin absorb the kick and cling to his leg.

Then its sharp teeth bore inside his flesh.

"Aaah!", Azrael shouted out in pain but the Goblin didn't let up and actually noticed the knife in Azrael's possession.

It grabbed it, unsheathed the blade and started to slam it into the side if of his abdomen.

Azrael's eyes bulged with the immense pain the received through this action. And not only once but multiple times.

He stumbled to the ground and collided with the sidewall of the tunnel. A clear sound of bone cracking could be heard. It was Azrael's left arm only dangling from his body now.

The pain was nearly putting him unconscious but his mind reacted in instinct at some point and his remaining hand grabbed hold of this green bastard arm that was holding the now bloody knife.

Azrael's demeanor changed from happy to ferocious in just a mere second. A big vein at his temple nearly popped through his anger.

He gritted his teeth and glared at the little bastard that seemed to smirk all the while grinding its teeth inside his flesh to hit enough nerves to let his strength slip for the knife to be once again free.

But Azrael's fury was skyrocketing and he used his tail and wrapped it around the bastard's neck.

Its superior grin slowly became one of anger as well and a struggle of strength was held between the two.

As unlucky it is for the Goblin but Azrael really fell into a rage. His strength slowly increased and with a small yellow glint in his eyes, his tail snapped the neck of the Goblin. Effectively killing it.

Azrael's glare still remained on the corpse until it started to dissolve into mist and only a violet small crystal lay on the ground.

Slowly but surely Azrael's rapid growling and breathing calmed down and even his eyes changed back to black.

But the immense pain remained. And if instinct still kept a firm grip on him his mind raced and the first thing he did was relocate his dislodged left arm.

With a crisp crack, it was soon back inside his shoulder blade and he could move it. Then he opened his mouth and salivated a lot.

His saliva was drooling of his mouth unto his wound at his leg.

Then he smeared it firmly into it and took another load and rubbed it on the stabbing wounds at his side.

His head then moved around from left to right and his gaze seemed to search for something.

Not finding what he searched for his face relaxed and at some point only slumped over.

His body rested against the tunnel wall not moving but his chest still indicated movement.

Azrael just lost consciousness right then and there. If someone would find him like that they would say he was dead.

He was completely blood covered and not even an inch was free from it.
