47 Hatred

Hatred. Hatred for the most loved person in your life ends you up in two options. One is forgiving them and moving on and the other, regret for a lifetime. Michael loved her from first sight, no matter how much he says he hates her. In the end, the feeling doesn't change, now she is there but he doesn't know what to do.

The care he has for her is mixed with the pain from the past. If he forgives her, he can't forgive him. If he forgives her, he can't accept the guilt of forgiving her. What she did was a crime, not a mistake. Crime doesn't get forgiveness.

"Why do you do that?" Michael muttered, holding her cold hand and looking up at her senseless body. Five years….it's been five years since she has been gone from his life. All this time he thought he forgot her, the only feeling he had for her was hatred. In those five years, there was no day when he didn't think of her. All this time the betrayal she gave that day, broke the trust and love of the other days.

He can't decide anymore, did he choose right? Michael sighed, and got up to leave, but once he turned his back. A hand from behind grabbed him, he instantly turned his head.

"You woke up?" Michael sat down and helped Sara to sit up straight on the bed. Sara didn't deny his help, but she kept his mouth shut. She was awake a long time ago, but when she saw Michael, she didn't dare to speak. If she tells him what happened five years ago. He will be back to her but also hates himself, and she doesn't want it.

She will put his life in danger if she tells him it's better if he only has a hatred for her. She doesn't deserve to torture him again by coming into his life.

Michael was still worried to see her emotions on her face, he made sure she was comfortable and then passed her a glass of water. Sara was deep in thought to notice the glass. He shook her shoulder.

"Huh?" Sara looked up at him, confused. "You okay?" Michael raised a brow and questioned her.

Sara just nodded to him held the glass and took a sip. Michael was a bit worried seeing her so cold and calm. And out of all how did she get wounded like this? From the wounds it looks like she got into a huge accident, broken ribs, head injury and… He was still scanning her wounds when Sara choked on the water and started coughing vigorously and soon she started vomiting blood.

Michael pressed the button to call the nurse while trying to calm down Sara. Her vitals started to spike up. In a few seconds, the nurse and doctors came rushing to the room, the whole room got chaotic.

"Sir, please leave the room. Let us do our work." One of the nurses pushed Michael out of the room. He stood in front of the door and looked through the glass, she was immediately put into oxygen but still, it was getting worse.

After a minute or two, her heartbeat line got flat, Michael felt like it was his heart leaving. He tried to burst in but the door was locked from inside, doctors put in a defibrillator, and put it first but no response. Michael felt helpless, in his mind, he was just saying she can't die, she can't leave him. The fear of losing her forever makes him go crazy.

The doctor tried again, and this time luckily her heart was beating again. Michael hunched down on the floor in relief. Tears flowed uncontrollably from his eyes, just seeing her leaving forever shrank his heart.

As if she was not the only one dying, he was dying with her too. The feeling can't be explained in words but it was real. Soon, the door opened and the doctor came out. Michael got up from the floor and ran away in tears.

"How is she, doctor?" Michael asked in a shaky voice, his hands still trembling in fear. The doctor looked at him, patted on his shoulder, and sighed, "Come with me." He said walking forward.

Michael gulped hoping it was not bad news, he followed the doctor to his cabin. Michael sat down opposite the doctor, unsure what he was about to say.

"How are you related to the patient?" The doctor asked calmly, his face was still tensed up. Michael stayed silent for a few seconds and then slowly opened his mouth to speak, "She is my ex-wife." A pain surged when he said it.

Yeah, it was past now but still, his heart hurt when he has to accept it. Saying is easy, he can still say he doesn't love her but his heart still knows she can't go out from there. The feelings stay and they may never be left.

"Is your ex with someone currently?" The doctor asked him in a clear voice. Michael raised a brow on hearing his question, "As far as I know, no." He replied honestly.

The doctor sighed again, and cleared his throat," She had internal bleeding in her stomach, a lot of damaged tissue. It looks like she was hit with a lot of force, or punch. We are not sure, but she is critical, we are preparing her for surgery. I will be honest, she has a very low chance of survival. But from the look, it looks like she was been abused for a long time and the damage was not huge and her body was trying to heal itself but a recent one was last blow."

Michael was perplexed on hearing that, abused? Hit? Why will someone hit her? She was good with martial art. That means whoever hurt her, is known to her and she allowed them to hurt her like that.

Michael clenched his fist in fury, he look at the doctor coldly, "I don't care what you do but she needs to be alive." Saying that he walked out of the cabin.
