I finally reached home still thinking about jasmine, I picked up the key from under the carpet because it seemed that mum wasn't at home.

"Thank God, mom isn't around..I don't want her waiting up for me since it was already so late,I said as I walk down to my room taking off my wet cloths".

I went into the bathroom to have a hot bath, as I washed my body,I started thinking about her.

I came out drying my body and putting on my night wear to lay down. I couldn't just wash of the thoughts about jasmine, she was pretty but I couldn't just help but feel sorry for her because she reminded me of what had happened to me in the past.

When my dad got fired from the KMH international company, he was frustrated and held onto alcohol for hope and soon became a drunkard. My mom did her best to help my dad and I would say, my dad started becoming a better person until one day, he came home drunk and started beating up mom with anything he could lay his hands on.As a child, I couldn't help but feel the need to protect my mom, so I jumped right in when my dad was beating mom up and then I got caught in the horror show. Soon, it became thing for my dad to beat mom and apologise the next morning, but one day he never came back home and that was the last time I saw my dad. I could pretty much say I hate him so much for all he did to my mom.

As I couldn't sleep I decided to count the sheeps to fall asleep.

"One sheep , two sheep, three sheep ...."

I soon woke up to the smell of my favourite pancakes.. "yummmmmmmmmm, I said as I quickly wore a more appropriate clothing rushing down the stairs".

"Good morning mom, I said as I rushed over to give her a hug.

"Good morning, how was your night?, she asked as she handed me plates to place on the table"

" fine and I came home very late because of the rain, I said sitting down in a hurry to eat".

"Pray before you eat, mom said as she closes her eye".

"Yeah yeah"

As we finished eating, I did the dishes and went to take a bath.I soon finished and came downstairs to head out to meet my friends.

"Peter , mom called out"

" yes"

"Don't forget that summer holiday is over and you are resuming on Monday, don't pass your curfew, she said"

"Yeah yeah, I know, I said as I shut the door.

I reached the bus stop and boarded the bus, I rushed to sit at the back.I noticed a rather familiar colour of hair similar to the girl that her met last night.

"It's her, Jasmine.
