Speed vs fire

The fight started. Selina was glowing as she sprinted at Racle, swinging her sword horizontally at him.

Racle crossed his sword and blocked the attack. He withdrew one of the sword and swung it at Selina but she was quick to dodge.

She ran at him again and they exchanged attacks.

"I told you he would be a good match." Vedry, still standing with the others.

"Hmph, not for long." Yeln replied.

Jade was getting more worried as time passed by. The fight wasn't looking like it would end anytime soon.

Racle was still firing up with strength but looks tired while Selina on the other hand was panting heavily.

Seeing that Selina was getting on her last leg Racle sprinted forward to attack. He threw one of his swords up to the sky and held the other one with both hands as he increase the flame. He swung it at Selina with all his might.

Selina raised her sword to block the attack. The collision between the two swords caused a shockwave of which selina couldn't withstand, not with her current state. The two swords got broken.

Selina flew backwards and before she could stand up Racle already caught the second sword and held it to her neck.

"Finally we have a winner and that's Racle." Jade announced.

Pjay, Yeln and Vedry was left dumbfounded. It was a surprising defeat.

"I guess I was right." Vedry finally said.

"How is he that strong? He even defeated a guardian." Yeln asked in surprised.

"You mean an incomplete guardian." Pjay stated.

Racle walked up to Selina and gave her a hand, Selina just snubbed him and stood up by herself.

"Though that was surprising but it's expected in every battle. We lose sometimes and sometimes we win." Jade said as he walked to the center. "That should be enough for today, we'll do the final tomorrow."

Jade couldn't wait to go home so he dismissed the gathering and they all left. Jade, Selina and Racle headed home, they actually didn't say a word to each other through out the journey.

Almost getting home, Selina took a detour. Jade didn't say anything as the walk was just too awkward to be together with them.

"You are not going to say anything huh." Racle finally voiced out.

"I will but not yet. I still need to confirm from your mom. Don't want to screw anything up." Jade replied.

"I'm even more curious, hearing that I have to wait." Racle said.

"Not to whet your curiosity, you will have to promise me you'd remain calm and logical after hearing the truth." Jade said as they got to their door step.

"I promise." Racle replied and the two entered.

Selina who had taken a detour from the street came out to a forest and without a second thought she went into it.

Coming a long way she got to a stream closed to a cave.

Tears was rolling down her eyes. She went down the stream, knelt down and cried out. After some time she heard footsteps, she quickly brought out her sword and swung it before turning back.

The person who had approached her blocked the sword with a spear held on her right hand.

It was an old woman putting on a crimson color gown.

"Who are you?" Selina asked as she quickly wiped her tears.

"Is that what you were taught? After killing a stranger then question them." The old woman asked, walking down to the river to fetch water.

"What's an old woman like you doing here in the forest." Selina asked, trying to grasp who this old woman was.

"Who knows..." The woman said, smiling at Selina. "I'm only here probably the same reason as yours."

"What do you mean by that?" Selina asked. She collected the bucket of water the old woman was carrying and they started heading to the cave.

"I don't think it's right to tell you, the truth can be extremely painful. If you discover it you might just end up destroying things and who knows what would happen next." The woman stated as they entered the cave. "Ask your parents to tell you, it would be better if you act wisely."

"Is this where you live?" Selina asked feeling disgusted about the place.

"It's more better for me than living in a village full of deceit."

"You are making me anxious and also curious about this truth you speak of."

"Thanks for the water, you can head home now." The old woman said, sitting on a bed close to the wooden torch in the cave. "You can call me Flin in case we meet again."

"Hm, sounds familiar." Selina commented and journeyed back home.

Rhen and Jade were in their bedroom, having a conversation.

"Racle and Selina knows we are hiding the truth from them." Jade said.

"Don't be so sure." Rhen said, handing a cup of tea to Jade.

"He was using his life force to fight this morning during training."

"Huh! His...life...force." Rhen stammered, shakily. "That's the source of a king's power."

"I can't believe we were so fixated on Selina, forgetting that we had a prince with us." Jade said, looking worried. "I can't tell him to stop using his powers without telling him the truth and besides, if we don't find a good reason for him to stop people might get suspicious."

"What about the revelations, you think he might have had any?"Rhen asked.

"He's fourteen, he definitely have had them but thinks they're just dreams..." Jade stated, taking a gulp of tea. "...or he already knows something's fishy."

"What about Selina?"Rhen asked.

"Letting out some steam, she got beaten by her junior brother even with her powers, it's heartbreaking."

"So what do you plan on doing with your little tournament?"

"Let's just pass the night in peace, tomorrow will take care of itself." Jade replied.

The door opened and Selina walked in followed by Racle.

"Dad, do you mind explaining what's happening to us or rather what happened in the past?" Selina asked trying to stay calm.

"I've been having strange dreams of previous events and now each time I weild my sword to fight I start feeling powers surging through me. You don't think we should know what's going on?" Racle added making it more convincing.

Jade looked at Rhen who was standing closed to the window and she nodded to him.

"(Sighs) I know you deserve to know the truth, only few people knows about these but It truly just gonna make you less happy." Jade said, trying to convince the two.

"Dad just spit it out." Selina said almost in an angry tone.

"Since you really want to know, promi....."

"We promise we won't take any rash action." Selina replied without letting the word fall through.

"What I'm about to say is concerning Racle. We were only worried and looking out for you, Selina, cause of your powers that we forgot about the actual problem at hand. I guess it has come back to bite us." Jade explained, thinking of how to make his next sentence. "(Takes a deep breath) Our family is actually supposed to be in place of..."
