1 Chapter 1: Good morning sunshine!

'Aaaarh! It's morning again', Raven thought as she could vaguely hear the sound of her virtual butler's gentle voice telling her it's time to wake up.

She was trying to add the hours she managed to sleep this week and it felt like the sum would go into the negative…

'What a week' she thought realising it was Friday. She'll sleep over the weekend, that's what they were made for after all.

"Good morning madam. Your breakfast is ready. It is now 6AM. Your agenda for today…"

She stopped listening. She knew already today was the board meeting for one of her companies. She hated it. Dealing with people was the hardest thing to do. All those emotions and nonsense decisions based on feelings. It felt like the older people got the less rational and reasonable they became.

"I thought the older you get the smarter you get" she grumbled to herself trying to get out of bed.

"I'm sorry madam, I didn't catch that." Her virtual butler said, holding a cup of coffee next to her face.

"mmmmm coffee smells good right now. It's a basic need these days." At least 2 cups before meeting any humans otherwise she might explode. She wasn't meant for social interactions and she knew it. Not for lack of trying but maybe lack of understanding of human emotions. Too complicated. She had friends but very few, she'd rather surround herself with her creations, they were more understanding and certainly more exact and to the point. No wasting time on useless pleasantries.

She could hear her phone ringing somewhere in the distance. 'Ignore it!' she thought, but alas, her virtual assistant wouldn't allow it knowing that she was now awake.

"Good morning madam, I have Victor on the line, should I connect the call?"

Hah! No escaping this ball of sunshine… and it was so early…

"Put him through."

She loved Victor, he was one of the very few people who could understand her. Not because he was extremely smart or because he could even comprehend 1% of her work, but they've known each other since they were kids and he accepted her.

At one point he declared he wanted to make it his life mission to turn her into a normal person; and by normal he meant someone with social skills.

It was difficult to keep up with Victor, he would be at a million and one social occasions in the same time, while updating all his social media, meeting new people and setting up new get togethers wherever he went. Very tiring for her, but apparently necessary if you were a young up and coming socialite like Victor was. His life mission was to be a superstar and conquer the world with his looks.

'How silly' she thought when he originally said it, but somehow she had the feeling he could do it. If he couldn't then there was no hope for her.

"Good morning sunshine! It's a new bright day, time to rise, time to shine, time to fall inlove! I have found you the perfect man!"

"mmm"

"You're not awake yet???!!! It's such a beautiful day to look for yummy guys to sweep you off your feet!"

"I prefer my feet in my shoes and my shoes on the floor, thank you very much" she grumbled.

He was her favourite person but sometimes, he could be too much, and at 6am in the morning he was definitely too much. Vic decided his new goal for this season, outside of Milan and Paris fashion weeks was to find her a man.

It definitely didn't fit with her life goal, but she wasn't going to burst his bubble. He told her repeatedly, good friends don't kill other friends dreams, and apparently her in a relationship was this man's dream… or one of them at least.

"Don't be grumpy sleeping beauty, I do really have someone I'd like you to meet. He's gorgeous and definitely in your league… well almost…I think you'll love him! Ah love at first sight I'm telling you!"

This was pure nonsense. Every time he's tried to set her up with someone for the past 3 months was such a miss. She went, because he forced her to, and if she ever said no the waterworks would start and the emotional blackmail… she never felt blackmailed but would give in because 'friends don't ruin other friends dreams' and this was his dream.

She's met all of his suggestions and could not be more disappointed. Last week was a man who declared himself a successful business owner with aspirations to break into the international market and get established as the number 1 cybersecurity company in Europe. She thought such ambitious dreams would surely come from a man who she could have a conversation with. Victor assured her he knew what he was talking about, 'same level' sort of thing. It was close to her field, in the sense that they were sort of distant relatives, maybe third degree cousins, but anything in tech was interesting and she could definitely keep a conversation going. If nothing else, at least there might be an exciting business proposition in there for one of her subsidiaries to take forward.
