DESIRED FREEDOM

"A gloat tendency ensued between that stranger and me, not forcefully but self-inflicted" She clamored "And from what I experienced last night, I don't think a fellow person can be able to keep up with that such vigorous strength and energy" May giggled.

The air around the patio became thickened and vain. Mr. Easton couldn't believe such a sweet mouth had just uttered those shameful words. She was his well-mannered, celibate daughter.

"May, will you stop provoking our father?" Amy was taken aback as well because her younger sister never spoke words like that before. After sleeping with that stranger, it incurred that her saintly brain was brainwashed or something. The prim jealousy in her chest subdued when she saw the irritated expression on her father's face.

'Oh dear sister, keep on tarnishing your image… I don't even have to act on my plans' She beamed.

"Who was that man?" Ashton's face turned sour the moment he asked about the stranger. May licked her tongue in disgust over his fake concern. Her first impression of him was a gentleman, passionate, and definitely not a cheater. She foolishly admired him. She was also stupidly determined to become his loyal wife after marriage. For six years, her hope, and aspiration were to see he was rather successful. She would daydream of their family—They would buy a considerable family house, support their careers, and have three to four kids. He pledged an oath that she was the only lady in his life, well, apart from his mother.

Until that faithful day, her wedding day. Every woman's dream that was shattered wittingly. Recollecting that day, the hand under the table was balled into a tight fist. Their savage lies and betrayals. All the same, there were still opportunities for growth, self-development, and self-fulfillment.

"May, give a reply to him" Mr. Easton gritted, his eyes ominous as a hawk.

"Why father?"

"Because he is your goddamn Fiancé" The Elder Man bellowed, his eyes collectively vicious and seen as a portending danger.

"The problem is him… I am prohibited from taking futile pleasure in my life just because of some childhood promise between two families. Why?. Since we are so desperate to give a wife from this household to the Dwayne… Amy is the perfect candidate. Don't tell me you haven't noticed something fishy between the two. If my soon-to-be husband isn't a virgin, why should I? Father, this is my family, and you are my life, but I… I refused to be bonded like this" She finally highlighted. The cause of her death was mainly because she was the third wheel between those two but most importantly, was the inappropriate-biased love between her father and Elder sister. It was about time he showed the latter a bigger significance in the house. She was still his biological blood and not her.

"Father, I have decided not to push through with this marriage" She announced, but it looked like the Older Man didn't take her profession lightly because his entire facial look was darkened and unceasing.

Seconds later, a deafening bang exuded from the table. Mr. Easton was now on his feet, and hands on the table.

"Your outrageous behavior is irking me, May. What has gotten onto you too…your zeal? Are you threatened? Ash is your first love…you'd write letters to him and…"

"Father, that's in the past. I have fallen out of that puppy love…right now, I'm aiming to reflect on my life. As my father, all I want from you is your support and understanding. I lost myself… I want to find that May" She sighed and pushed her plate aside "Father please"

Mr. Easton was overwhelmed with an underscored frustration and responsibility. The color in his eyes rapidly changed.

"You are aware that your retreat from the wedding wouldn't only tarnish my reputation, but yours as well. Are you willing to face the consequences?" His tone softened.

May was an orphan who Mr. Drake Easton's late wife adopted and brought to the house because she couldn't birth a child. She was four then, naive but beautiful. The first four months she was with them, Mr. Easton and her were both at loggerheads, complaining and fighting. Eventually, the man accepted her into his life as his daughter. He didn't know he would love her immensely, even neglecting his blood-related.

Unfortunately, five years after, his wife met in a tragic accident and died. That gave him a duty—To cherish the young girl until eternity. Alas! She wasn't his only child because he had three more. But she was the ruler over his heart. His little angel.

"Yes, father… Elder sister can marry him" May declared "One more thing father, I want to leave…somewhere far away"

"DENIED!!" The man scowled!

"But father, if I have to find myself, I must leave…you don't expect me to stay" She frowned.

"I haven't agreed to your withdrawal from the wedding yet, and you're already planning to run" Mr. Easton glared.

"Oh come on!! I am not running off anywhere" She ascertained, but her father didn't buy it.

"We are returning home tomorrow, and you are coming with me" Her father concluded indifferently, "Understood?"

"Dad, please… I…"

"I said…UNDERSTOOD?" He divulged. May lowered her head and murmured "Yes"

Feeling hopeless and frustrated, the sparks of bitterness in her eyes deepened. She ascended from her seat, "I am old enough to be rebellious and granted wanted freedom"

She stepped backward, about to run away from that sickening environment. Tears were brimming and threatening to break out. She was expecting more than a refusal from her father. With her head still stuck to the cold floor, she cursed in her heart, 'F**k this new life'!

THUD!

"Ah" May yelped loud from the pain in her nose after hitting something heavy at her front. She felt like she stumbled on a brick and slammed her nose against it, but as her sight caught those familiar gray shoes and vintage watch on the wrist, she immediately looked up.

She recognized the man with the perfect facial physique, sculpted carefully by God. Those deep blue eyes were looking down at her as his entire body towered over hers. He looked at her with a somber expression, one that would take any woman down on her knees into a ravine of pleasure.

"Xavier" She called, her face suddenly flushed. She saw that his expression changed from indifferent to annoyed.

"Watch your step, not every man can be gentlemanly," He told in his deep and tired voice. May blinked her eyes and vigorously nodded her head with a wide smile.

Xavier took his gaze from her to the angry expression on his father's face. He passed by her body, but something cold suddenly touched him, causing him to halt on his step.

"C-can we have a talk…privately?" May said to him, "I have something important to say to you, I'll wait on the porch" She took her hand from his wrist before retreating and running back to the house like a high schooler who just confessed to her crush.

Xavier locked eyes with his Old Man, and after a moment of that problematize silent look, he shifted his gaze.

"Brother" Amy greeted him, but the man brushed past her, leaving his manly scent as he approached his father.

"I have decided"
