1 Let Me Go

Let me go

"No...N--oo...N.." She kept withering in pain under her comfy blanket inside her black bedroom.

Sweat covered her forehead and neck. She kept shaking her head vigorously from left to right. Clutching the bedsheets tightly with her small hands.

"Don't.. touch….me.... It… hurts…." She murmured again and again.

"NO!!" However, this time she shouted at the top of her lungs and woke up. Her messy bed hair, with red eyes. Tears brimming down her cheeks.

She had a hard time breathing. For a few seconds, she continued gasping.

After stabilizing her breath, she chucked the water from the glass making it empty in one attempt. Not a single drop of water was left. She placed the glass back on the nightstand. She removed the blanket off her body.

"Ugh.. it's too hot." She felt stuffy and extremely hot.

She saw that the aircon was set on 10°C. She took the remote and changed the temperature to 0°C. It was cold now yet it didn't help to cool off her overheated body which was covered with only perspiration.

She wore her slippers and marched towards her bathroom. Turning on the showerhead.

She stood directly under it. The cold water fell and drenched the sweaty body of the girl. She hadn't discarded her clothes as a result they also got wet.

She placed her both hands on the marbled wall of the bathroom. She didn't let out a shriek even when the chilly water descended over her slender and tall figure. It was early spring so the water still felt cold to touch but she never flinched even for once when it tumbled on her.

The bathroom mirrors didn't turn foggy as the water was chilling. So when she looked around with her dazy eyes and she was met with a clear reflection of her wide awakened self.

She saw a beautiful, tall, pale girl standing under the showerhead. The girl had mysterious black transparent eyes which had a golden shimmer in them. Although now her eyes looked dull and emotionless. They seemed to lose all the motivation and reason to live.

The beautiful girl had pale skin where others can even see her veins clearly. She had long and beautiful hair that reached below her waist but ended a few centimetres above her butt. Her hair was all black too. All over she looked nothing less than a Goddess, a heavenly beauty to be exact. Her symmetrically cut face, button nose, supple and smooth cheeks. The most eye-catching part of her beauty was those naturally red and rosy lips of hers. They were close to blood-red in colour. It made her lips so alluring and impossible to ignore.

If she had taken birth in ancient times then it won't be unbelievable to read or hear about countries fighting over her later as a part of history subject. Her beauty knew no bounds, it was boundless. Even now her one glance at someone was enough to give them a heart stroke. Her dangerous and lethal beauty had killed many thus no one could gather the courage to ask her out. Men were simply too much scared. They all had doubts about what will happen to them if accidentally they end up hurting the ice-cold beauty.

Apart from the lips, the other extraordinary feature was her eyes. They were the real example of what people used to quote, saying eyes are the mirror to one's true self.

Being a peace lover, she never liked to initiate any communication with others yet people still got intimidated just by her eyes. They spoke viciously just as she spitfire with her tongue whenever she opened her mouth.

And when others studied at her eyes they could see a cold and heartless girl; who doesn't care about anything.

If only someone tried to dive deeper into them, they would meet a fragile and broken girl. Broken beyond repair. But there was not someone around with such courage living in their heart.

It wasn't their fault if they couldn't get to the bottom of her eyes since she had shut down herself inside her body. Caging and capturing her soul with chains of the so-called limitations, she put around for herself.

She didn't want to let the world see the real her, the broken her, the one girl whose hurt had been crushed mercilessly. She had committed this mistake in the past and would be a bloody fool if she is to do it again.

"I won't let them or anyone walk over me."

After standing there for like 1 hour, she came out.

Her eyes involuntarily shot up to the vanity mirror, 'See and embed this image forever into your brain. This real and shattered image of yours would always act as a reminder to you. That you aren't the same girl they could use, betray and break after they were thoroughly done with your weak self. You aren't SAME anymore. Your past self had been buried deep inside, now she never can break those chains and release herself from the shambles.'

Her subconscious mind ordered her. Her eyes turned cold and heartless again.

She had already gotten rid of her wet clothes and after donning on her bathrobe she had dumped all her wet clothes inside the white basket inside the bathroom.

Checking out the time from the wall clock.

"It's already 5 am. I should start jogging rather than trying to force myself to sleep. It would be fruitless."

She put on her gym wear and blow-dried her wet hair and dripping hair. Tying up her hair in a high ponytail without leaving out a strand with a black scrunchie. She put on her wristwatch and moved out of her house.

On her way out, she grabbed onto her black hoodie.

She lived on the top floor inside one of the famous and expensive condominiums. She had the whole penthouse registered under her name. The building was located at a far distance from her workplace.

She padded towards the elevator and clicked on the underground button. The elevator began to move and go down. She reached down in time and walked over to the nearest park where she used to jog daily. The park wasn't big but it was very pleasing to the eyes.

It had a playing zone for the little kids. She could see old aged people walking around, perhaps doing their regular morning walks.

She plugged in her wireless earbuds to her ears and started her jogging. She ran a few laps around the track of the park.

She carried on until she felt short of breath. She took deep breaths and stopped jogging. She began to walk back home with moderate speed.

Arriving back at her penthouse around 6 am, she bathed and dressed in her working clothes. She left her house without eating her breakfast, plainly because she addressed cooking as a more labour job and for someone like her, she will only eat food when it would become unbearable for her. She can survive on without food.

She inserted the key and turned the car ignition. The car began to roar and she got onto her way to her office.

She had to stop at a red traffic light. There was another car in front of her. When the light turned green, she pushed her legs on the accelerator and somehow her car's hood crashed into the other car.

Due to inertia, her head fell forward a bit and thankfully she didn't injure herself as she had worn the seat belt.

"Sh*t", the swearing came out naturally. She knew it was her mistake so she immediately opened her car door and walked over to the other car to check if someone got hurt by her stupidity or not.

She knocked her hand on the backseat but the window of the passenger seat was lowered down.

She gazed at the man who had round glasses sitting on the tip of his nose.

She saw him talking over his phone so she stopped talking.

The glasses guy let out a small smile, asking her to speak and not mind about his phone as he was hearing her.

"I'm sorry for my stupid mistake. Because of it, my car crashed into yours, I hope no one got injured or hurt because of me, also I would like to pay the compensation for all the damage done by me." She bowed her head at the end.

The guy didn't say anything therefore she had to pause in between her apology. She glanced at him saying something to his phone before he nodded his head and placed his phone back.

The guy pushed his glasses, "No need to say sorry Madam. We didn't suffer any injuries and about the compensation. I think for that if exchange our visiting cards would be good. We can't talk about it on the road right now. We are building traffic."

She agreed with him and quickly handed him her visitor's card.

"I am sincerely sorry again."

"Don't say sorry, Madam. It was our fault too that driver got late to notice, the traffic light had turned green."

After exchanging the cards, she hurriedly went to her car and sat inside. Putting on her seatbelt she waited for the other car to move first and the next moment she was back onto her journey to her office.
