Charmed The Heroines in a Novel

Just read it, it's clear what kind of series this is. But here is a blurb: Being on the top is like people say, boring. And boring can explain the entirety of his life. Even when his life ends, Li Yuheng didn't react much, except it sucked. But when an unexplainable existence suddenly tells him that he can transmigrate to another world, he is excited. Life no matter how bad seemed like a good deal instead of stuck in the nothingness of death, but like every deal, it has terms and conditions. "Help the protagonist," it said. The protagonist, the same person who relies on nothing but luck, that same person who has no redeeming qualities or character and gets everything they want. Telling him to serve that kind of person is degrading him. To protect his pride, Li Yuheng manipulates the protagonist, avoids the system's suspicion, and turns the heroines to his side, all in secrecy. How will he do it? He doesn't know himself. But it's the fun part, isn't it? ------------- Upload schedule: 1 chapter every 2 days on average, sometimes 1 chapter every 3 days.

The Party (End)

"Why is she going to a party if she is so shy?"

You Ronmeng's words stopped the silence, as well as the metallic clattering from spoons and forks. Li Yuheng and Rose looked at her, and Rose's stare begging for help was as clear as day.

"I forced her. For social practice." He said and continued eating as nothing happened.

"Is that so? I'm willing to help her" She said, smiling.

She wasn't buying his excuses. Even perhaps she knew it was Rose and wanted to play around. If so, he wouldn't ruin the fun.

"Sure, let's finish dinner first shouldn't we?" He smiled.

"Of course, I'm looking for it," She said and went back to eating.

It wasn't long until his legs nudged under the table, slender legs with barely enough power to sprang forward. Who else if it wasn't Rose?

"I promised you I would become your ally, so help me!" Rose whispered to his ears.

"Just follow like she said."

"My identity will get revealed!"

"I have a plan, calm down."

"Oh, say it from the beginning!" She pouted and ate.

He had a plan, a plan that wasn't guaranteed to work, but it didn't matter. He had no intention to hide her any longer.

The fastest way to solve her problem would just be to talk it off like a reasonable adult. This game of hide and seek was bound to be a disaster because it's a recipe for misunderstanding. Be forward and be clear, a golden rule for any relationship except a relationship that was hidden behind intentions and goals.

Their relationship shouldn't be like that. From what he could gather, their problem should be just that. Lack of communication.

Also, he was curious what their story would be. Just a little bit.

...

The table was cleaned and the butlers and maids already left, a sign their overly stuffed dinner was over. They were told they had some time to enjoy themselves before going to the next event. Gift giving.

There was no argument it was the worst event at any party. An event the purpose was to ask for favor under the umbrella of good faith.

He 100% won't partake in.

"Let's talk," You Ronmeng broke the silence, quaffing a glass of wine in one gulp.

Li Yuheng nodded. "But are you sure you can talk? That is the fourth glass of wine I saw you drink tonight."

"It's only wine, nothing to worry about."

Without warnings, she went closer to Rose who was sitting in the corner trying to be as invisible as possible, so close they almost pressed their nose together if not for Rose's mask.

"My name is You Ronmeng, nice to meet you."

Rose opened her mouth trying to let out a word but all out was air.

"Her name is Rose. She said it's nice to meet you" Li Yuheng interrupted.

You Ronmeng rolled her eyes at him. "And how did you know that?"

"Telepathy."

"Can you read mine as well, Mr.psychic?"

"Yes. You already know who she is, so why bother introducing yourself?"

Rose's eyes widened and looked at You Ronmeng's, then at him, then at You Ronmeng again.

"Just talk Rose, it's too late." He said.

"You said you have a plan!"

"I did." He smiled and looked at You Ronmeng. "I heard you two have a little bit of a dispute, so I'm here to offer you the most unbiased opinion to tackle the problem efficiently."

"That is your plan!?" Rose shook her head.

"I don't tell my story to strangers, even if you are Rui's boyfriend,"

He nodded. "I'm not a psychologist, so it won't be too serious. Deducing game or confession of sins?"

"Oh? Interesting. Deducing game," You Ronmeng said.

"Ok. Let's start."

He walked around and observed them like Sherlock Holmes, their body language and facial expression couldn't escape even if it's only appeared for a split second.

"You knew each other for around 5 years more or less right?" He said.

"Yes," You Ronmeng said.

"You both are inseparable best friends in school?"

"Yes."

"You never hated her for her action, just a bit angry and disappointed and sad. Is that true?"

"You are quite good at this." She said. "Then what do you think about the situation?"

"I believe Rose didn't do whatever she did intentionally, so she wasn't completely guilty. But you are the victim, so you choose what she needs to do"

He said and went to the corner, waiting for the interesting bits to happen.

It didn't take long for You Ronmeng to turn and walk to Rose. Rose was noticeably nervous, being stiff like a statue and all.

"Did you remember your debt?" You Ronmeng said.

"Debt....?" Rose's eyes wandered up the ceiling.

"Hot pot." She stopped. "You promised you would treat me Liangjing hotpot."

Her eyes widened. "Of course! I will treat you anytime!"

"For the other one…."

"Another one?" Rose gulped.

"Let's exchange contacts."

"Exchange contact? That is all?"

You Ronmeng nodded. "And why did you hide from me?"

"I'm assuming you are angry about that accident….And I'm also hiding from the Cheng family." Rose said.

"I'm still a bit angry. But what happened with you and the Cheng family?"

"It's a long story. But are you sure you aren't that angry? It's fine if you want to become angry."

"I knew you had a reason. But I'm disappointed," Before Rose opened her mouth, You Ronmeng continued. "I'm disappointed you won't talk with me about the problem."

"I-!"

"You don't need to say anything now. How are auntie and uncle?"

Rose's body stiffened, her eyes emitted sadness and the sound of her breath was noticeably loud. The room's atmosphere turned, the same silence when someone asked 'Who is dead again?' to the mourning family members.

"What is wrong with uncle and auntie!?" You Ronmeng added.

"It's a long story." Rose said with hoarseness.

You Ronmeng instantly pulled her hands and walked toward the door. "You will tell me the story from the beginning. Every detail." They left running.

He was left in the room alone without answers and more questions, but even without Rose saying it loud, he could conclude. He wasn't an idiot with barely functioning EQ.

His guess might be right, it might be wrong, being a transmigrator didn't make him a psychic. It was their privacy, if they wouldn't let him know then he wouldn't pry. At least not now.

With Rose and You Ronmeng leaving, his desire to stay in this party plummeted even further. But before his legs could move to the door, he was stopped by the system's notification.
