5 5: Spirit Merging

"I was hearing the voices of three people from my room but I can see only two of you here?"

"What did you say?" Barion's eyes were as wide as saucers. Why wouldn't he? He had cast a sound barrier that even green core mages would find hard to break to get the slightest noise but this child, he could hear everything?

"It was all muffled a bit but I could make information put of it." Asher continued, ignoring the looks of shock.

'Phew it was muffled, wait what am I thinking! He's not even awakened yet!' Barion thought.

"Asher, go back to sleep, we'll talk when your father and I are done talking." Olivia snapped out of her daze and spoke in a kind voice.

Asher turned his head to her and smiled and then it disappeared in the next second.

Asher clicked the ACCEPT button without hesitation and he was teleported to a dark space. He looked at his hands and he could see that nothing and changed and he looked up and observed the room.

It was all dark except for the large screen that showed his face and... two of his mother.

Another screen appeared.

[Elilia/Emilia's body occupies two spirits within her soul. Delete one spirit or Merge them to make a stronger spirit.

/MERGE///DELETE/]

One of his mother's turned her head from the screen and saw him, with her eyes widened from pure shock but it was too late.

MERGE

Asher was kicked out of the space and in the real world, he could see his mother's face twisted in pain.

"Mother!" He called out.

Bariel too noticed this and quickly placed her on the one bed in the room.

"Asher, go back to your room, I'll take care of her."

"Bu-"

"Go back." His father's voice was deep and commanding showing that he wouldn't change his mind.

"Ugh."

Asher left the room with many thoughts going through his head but the main one was, 'She really had double personalities?'

———

Emilia's face was still distorted in pain and after a few minutes, her face stated to relax gradually and soon she opened her eyes.

She looked at hands slightly disbelieving.

Bariel, seeing that the pain had stopped, asked.

"Are you okay?"

"My spirits, They... became one again."

"Uh? What did you say?" Bariel answered as those six words were unable to register in his head.

"My spirits are one again!"

"How–"

"It must be Asher... I saw him in there."

"How can that be possible? Elilia? Emilia? He's not even awakened yet."

"Who am I?, Bariel?"

"Emilia Von Wight, Ah- I see."

"...but to do that, he has to have the "Mind Fox bloodline and it's long extinct."

"I'll talk to him now."

"No, wait. He's still injured. Give him some rest."

"...and, call me Emilia now." She said as she walked out of the room.

Bariel began to think.

The soul. The very essence of every living being. It lived in the bodies of the said living things but there must be something the body uses as a connection to it and that's where the term spirits come's in.

In other words, personalities, which itself lives in the soul and when the spirit splits into two, the two spirits repel each other but since they are in the same space, they are constantly expanding the soul and breaking it down and destroying it.

It is said impossible for anyone to touch the soul or spirits even with magic unless one has the mind Fox bloodline but even they are as rare as chicken's teeth.

But...

Someone supposedly made a discovery on how to interact with the soul, cultivate it and other things like that in an human kingdom and he refused to share his research except with his king.

So, about 14 years ago during a war with the said human kingdom, Emilia was ambushed by the human and his magic and had her personality split into two.

Meek, happy, obedient, benevolent, e.t.c and Brash, Sad, Unhappy, Vengeful and Malevolent with the former being the main personality.

Surprisingly, this caused a reaction in her bloodline and the first personality got the "Magic Fox Bloodline" while the other got the "Beast Fox Bloodline" which made her more versatile than she ever was.

Now, her personalities (spirits) had become one again. Bariel's brain finally processed everything and he shouted out for joy.

Immediately he ran out of the room to look for Emilia.

———

It was a peaceful morning just like any other day. Birds chirping all about and washing themselves for a new day. Pots and pans clanking in the two houses for breakfast and a white haired boy screaming;

"I'm going to be late– Ouch!"

A repeat of yesterday except for the fact that the two boys were in bandages.

Asher glanced to his side with a seemingly uninterested expression.

"Why are you in my room again? Last time I checked, you have yours."

Cashel didn't reply as the door was swung open by their mother. Emilia Von Wight.

"Follow me." She said.

"Yes, mother." They replied at the same time.

Behind her, Bariel shouted.

"I'll be back in an hour! I gotta report to the king. Ciao?" and he disappeared, sounding strangely happy.

"What's up with him?" Cashel questioned.

"He probably won the lottery. Leave him." Asher replied, glancing at his mother and she glanced at him too and their eyes met and Asher averted his.

"Let's go." Their mother spoke again.

In a minute they were in the main house, strolling about until their mother kicked down a door and the loud noise startled them.

Inside the room were Evan, Ethan, Isabella, Sophia and Olivia.

Olivia turned her head and showed an annoyed expression.

"Mutts! What are–"

~THWACK!~

~BAM!~

Olivia was sent flying into the wall, eyes rolling back into her head and coughing up a mouthful of blood.

Evan and Ethan followed suit.

Olivia came back to life as a cold bucket of water was poured on her head.

Her eyes met Emilia's and a wave a confusion came across her eyes before she finally realized.

'Is this her other personality? No, what she's done is way to kind compared to what she'd do. Then... did they combine? Now way! That's impossible.'

Suddenly, Emilia painted an innocent smile on her face.

"Olivia dear~ I'd like to 'thank' you properly for 'taking care' of me when I was in a troublesome state for 5 years. Can we take this 'talk' to another room~?"
