Chaos School of the Undead

Ethan, an eighteen-year-old boy who dies from brain cancer, finds himself reincarnated in the body of a fifteen-year-old boy, Stefan Hodstev, on another earth, in the midst of a war between humans and the Vocras— demonic creatures who were once humans, but for thirst for power and immortality traded their souls to the demon Vocratis. A demon who had sought to take over the world for over three thousand years. As Stefan grapples with his newfound existence, he inherits the knowledge of the boy whose body he now inhabits, and he soon realizes that this world is nothing like the Earth he was from. Here, the line between life and death is blurred, and the dead never truly die. But the ultimate shock awaited him as he raced desperately to find safety. Running as fast as his legs could carry, he caught a glimpse of his reflection in a tarnished, spectral mirror, but what stared back at him was enough to make his very essence teeter on the precipice of oblivion. Stefan does not look like the humans he had seen fighting for their lives, rather... He was what was chasing them.

School of Chaos

The next time Ethan opened his eyes, he was standing in front of two giant ornate gates, with a mighty stretched-out fence that seemed to touch the sky.

Two guards were standing in front of the gates. They had not seen him approach so they were surprised when they noticed him.

"Who are you?" One of the guards asked, his hand moving to hold his sword.

Ethan looked around him, still surprised by how he got there. He could see a few people about his age in uniforms.

The girls were wearing white shirts with an emblem on the breast pocket; their deep blue skirts were short, with knee-length high socks. There were epaulettes on each shoulder, but Ethan noticed that some of the students had epaulettes of different designs. As they walked by him into the gates, they looked at him strangely.

The boys were wearing white shirts and long, straight-legged black trousers with ornate side stripes.

Ethan looked at what he was putting on and, for the first time, realized it was a uniform, the same as what they were wearing. The only difference was that he had no epaulette.

Was this the School of Chaos?

"Hey, you! Who are you?"

The guard called again, this time he sounded annoyed. Ethan looked at the guard and swallowed. The last thing he wanted right now was to show that he was lost, but the irony was that he did seem lost.

There was blood all over his clothes, and his hair was tattered; his face was covered in dirt, with a slightly swollen cheek from the punch of the Vocra.

Ethan wasn't sure if this was the school, but he had to try his luck.

"I'm a student here," he said, raising his voice and trying to sound confident.

The guards looked him up and down, then looked at each other. He was indeed wearing their uniform, but he did not seem to be in the right frame of mind.

"And where are you coming from?"

Alright... you got me there.

Ethan cursed internally. Where would he say he was coming from? He did not remember how he got into a fight with the Vocras or who those people were. All he knew was that he was Stefan; he didn't even remember his last name.

"Are you deaf?" The other guard asked, seeming impatient.

Ethan knew he had to say something, or he would be thrown out, or worse, locked up.

"I took permission and left the school."

Right, since it was a school and there seemed to be a Vocra invasion, students would not be allowed to leave without permission.

"And what's your name?"

"Stefan..."

There was silence, as though the guards were waiting for him to continue.

Shit... what's my full name? Stefan... Stefan... Stefan...

"Stefan Hodstev!" Ethan shouted as though he had just won a lottery. His brain had finally decided to work.

The guards stared at him questioningly, as though they did not believe him. Well, he wouldn't even believe himself too.

"And where is your exit card?"

Exit card? Yeah, there was no way they would let him leave without an exit card.

Ethan put his hands into his pockets searching for the card, but there was nothing there.

The guards watched him rummage through his clothes looking for the exit card, but he couldn't find it.

Where did you leave your exit card, Stefan?

"Stefan, what are you doing here?"

Just when he was about breaking out a sweat, Stefan heard a feminine voice call from behind him, and he turned in the direction of the voice.

A girl, about his age, dressed in the school uniform, walked up to him. Her blue-colored hair was tied up in a ponytail, and she had a very evident cat-eye which she had lined with blue liner.

Her lips stretched into a smile as she approached Stefan.

"I thought you said you've quit; what are you doing back here?"

She asked, folding her arms, and that was when Ethan noticed her voluptuous chest. Her shirt was so tight; her buttons seemed like they would pop any second.

Ethan forced his eyes off her chest.

This was a very pressing matter; he literally had no place to sleep tonight. The last thing that should be on his mind was a pair of boobs.

"I changed my mind."

Stefan had quit school, why? Was it because of the bullying?

Well, everybody knew you were going to return, there's no place for you outside there anyways. But I am sure you remember the dean asked you not to return if you ever leave. Are you sure he would let you come back?"

There was no place outside for him, what did she mean by that?

"I'll have to plead with him."

Ethan said. The girl looked him from head to toe, and then she frowned.

"Now, what's with your clothes? What happened to you?"

Ethan scratched his head. He was not about to tell this girl the episode with the Vocra. Besides, he was not sure if they knew he had powers yet; he had to be careful about whatever he said.

"I was beaten up."

There was a moment of silence before the girl burst out laughing; her boobs laughed in synchrony.

"I am not surprised; but what I'm surprised about, Stefan, is that you're back in one piece. Everyone thought you would die, at best, return without a limb, you sure are a tough one."

She concluded, lightly touching his nose.

Ethan didn't know who this girl was, but he did not like her already. It didn't seem like she was friends with Stefan.

"Well, come on in. The council will be waiting."

The girl spoke, strutting into the gates.

"Well, I cannot come in; I misplaced my exit."

The girl looked at Ethan in surprise, scoffing lightly;

"What exit? You literally ran away; you weren't given an exit."

"Oh… yeah, that's true. I forgot."

Ethan cursed beneath his breath; he was not about to blow his cover.

"Let him in; I know him."

The girl said when she noticed the guards were still blocking Ethan from coming in.

The guards nodded at her words and moved to the side, letting Ethan go in.

Ethan heaved a sigh of relief and hurried up to join the girl.

The girl hummed a song as she walked into the school. Ethan... well, his name was Stefan now, he should get used to that name.

Stefan looked at the girl; she seemed unusually happy. He wondered if she was excited that he was going to be severely scolded by the Council or if she was just always this happy.

"Look who we have here,"

A masculine voice interrupted Stefan's thoughts, and he turned in the direction of the voice.

The girl chuckled. Folding her hands; she rolled a few strands of her hair with her index finger.

"Oh, Stefan, you're in a lot of trouble."
