The surrounding was silent; no one made a single noise, before bursting into a chorus. The deafening screams echoed throughout the academy. "How powerful!" said someone in the crowd.

"Who would have thought, the boy who was a cripple not long ago, would trample all the geniuses of the kingdom under his feet, rising above the masses? Spectacular!"

"The disparity in their strength is too big. He's already at the Gathering Stage."

Leng Yueyan couldn't stop smiling when Qin Meng won his battle without much effort. He had almost crushed Li Yan. She eyed Ye Fa and said, "What kind of rubbish our House has sent this time? Not even in top five."

Ye Fa grunted in irritation but couldn't reply her. If it was someone else, he might have used the fact that he was from House Ye, but in front of Leng Yueyan, he was completely helpless.

"To think he has already reached the Gathering Stage. He is pretty good," nodded Princess Zhong Liqiu. Then she turned toward Leng Yueyan. "Do you know his Martial Spirit and its rank?"

Leng Yueyan shook her head.

Zhong Liqiu smiled, not asking any longer. From her expression, though, it was evident that she couldn't believe that Leng Yueyan didn't know about it. Leng Yueyan felt frustrated but didn't argue. One could believe what they wanted to believe. She just knew that Qin Meng had fire-type Martial Spirit, but never saw its appearance with her own eyes.

Qin Meng appeared in front of the masses, and everyone looked at him with respect and admiration that he had never felt from these people. Suddenly ten figures appeared in front of Qin Meng. All of them wore purple robes.

Purple Sun Mentors! Most powerful mentors in the academy. Qin Meng searched through their faces: four women and six men. One of the men, looking no older than Qin Meng himself eyed him and said, "My name is Su Zian. I want to take you as a student, boy."

Qin Meng eyed the man and realised that he was quite handsome. Though not as handsome as Qin Meng, he had yet to meet his match, but quite a looker, nonetheless. He had shoulder-length black hair, sharp glittering eyes and thin lips, and he was holding a fan in his right hand. However, Qin Meng didn't like the look in his eyes; it was like as if he was looking at an ant, not a student that he wanted to teach.

"Su Zian," said one of the female mentors fiercely. "Have you no shame? To think you care so little about your face. You know he is Leng Yueyan's fiancé, and you still want to take him as your student."

"In my opinion," said another female with an amused look, "he wants to take this boy as his student 'because' he is Leng Yueyan's fiancé."

"Shameless!" A few others also looked at Su Zian with a disgusted look, though the remaining mentors showed no expression on their faces. Su Zian didn't even look at those mentors; his gaze was fixated on Qin Meng. "What do you say, boy? Do you want to take me as your mentor?"

Qin Meng frowned and shook his head. "Sorry, I don't."

He didn't know what they were talking about—but he could tell that nothing good would come by becoming this man's student. He had something to do with Leng Yueyan. What is that? He wondered, but could only shake his head in the end incomprehensively.

Su Zian narrowed his eyes fiercely. Then he snorted and turned towards another top ten. He arrived in front of Li Yan and asked him if he wanted to become his student. The boy nodded without any delay; Su Zian vanished with his new student.

Just then an old man took a step towards Qin Meng, but when he saw the other mentor's expressions, he coughed awkwardly and turned towards Yu Cheng. "Do you want to become my student, boy?"

Yu Cheng shook his head. "Sorry, I have already decided on my mentor a long time ago."

The old man gave a grunt of dissatisfaction and went towards Hu Chen, who agreed without wasting any time. He didn't have the luxury to refuse and choose a mentor to his liking, only the top three could do it. One should know his limit.

After the old man was gone, other mentors turned toward Qin Meng.

However before any of them could speak, a figure appeared in front of them. "I want to take him as my student."

"This is not appropriate, Vice Principal," said one of the ladies who had mocked Su Zian. Others nodded in agreement.

Meng Xiurong turned towards them and asked, "How's it inappropriate? Tell me, is there some kind of rule that I can't take him as my student?"

No one replied. It depended on the student to whom he wanted to take as his mentor. None of them had the right to influence Qin Meng's decision until he becomes their student.

Qin Meng eyed the dissatisfied faces of mentors and turned towards Vice Principal's gorgeous features. "I would like to choose Vice Principal Meng Xiurong as my mentor."

The other mentors no longer stayed still and turned toward others. Vice Principal Meng Xiurong held Qin Meng's shoulder with her soft hands and vanished from the eyes of the masses.

Soon, the stadium burst into screams of surprise and admiration and jealousy. No one had ever thought that Qin Meng could attract Vice Principal Meng Xiurong to take him as her student. This was definitely the most shocking event of the competition.
