CHAPTER 1

"Alright everyone.....that was our last lesson for the day. Thankyou for listening, have a nice weekend" a pretty lady said.

She had below waist dark wavy copper brown hair, beautiful amber eyes that seemed to hold all of the beauty of the world in them.

She had an alluring hour glass figure and her skin was smooth as silk with a pure jade like complexion.

Her smile was bright and warm as she stared at her little learners and her aura was gentle and calm as should be of an elementary school teacher.

She was smart and neat with an air of sophistication around her.

"Thanks for the lesson Miss Eva" the kids said in unison and got out of their seats in a rush to meet their parents or friends.

It was cute looking at all these adorable kids running around in excitement to go home.

Eva Collins, the twenty three year old elementary teacher smiled as her eyes scanned all the kids who were leaving.

"Hey Danny, don't forget to do your assignment or you'll get in trouble OK"

Eva said as she looked at a petite boy walking out along with his friends.

The boy smiled awkwardly "Yes Miss Eva"

Eva shook her head slightly and glanced at a particular little girl in the corner of the classroom.

She was smiling as she spoke to her friend with enthusiasm.

Eva sighed contentedly 'It's nice to see little Avry adapting now'

Eva packed up her things and checked the time. It was three twenty sharp and the lessons for second grade learners were over.

Eva walked up to the little girl at the corner and smiled.

"How are you Avry and Freddie"

The two cute kids looked up at their teacher with eyes of admiration 'Miss Eva is so pretty'

They practically had the same thought staring at Eva "Good afternoon Miss Eva"

"Good afternoon" Eva said with a smile.

They spoke for a little while longer and finally left the class.

"Uhh..Miss Eva, what are you thinking about" the little girl asked as she walked beside Eva in the school hall.

She was pretty for her age. She had dirty blonde hair and two beautiful silver eyes. The little girl went by the name Avry Walker.

"It's nothing.....but tell me, when do you think your caretaker is coming. She's delayed a bit today....usually she'd be here by now"

Avry shook her head "I don't know either"

Eva looked at Avry meaningfully "Alright....I have to go, we have a teacher's meeting and I can't be late but have a nice weekend alright"

"Alright Miss Eva, have a nice weekend too, goodbye " Avry said as she ran towards her friends to say goodbye.

Eva watched with a smile 'She's a nice kid.....but I've never seen her parents and neither does she talk about them....she just speaks about her brother all day and no one else, and I still haven't meet him'

'Then there's the caretaker...but she doesn't seem like someone acquainted with taking care of kids that much'

Eva kept on wondering as she headed for the teachers meeting.

The school term was almost done and kids were almost about to break off for summer vacation, so they had alot to do as a school.

The teachers' meeting started at four and ended at five thirty and then teachers also started leaving the school.

Eva looked at her phone as she walked along the empty school hall and as she bypassed the kids playground, she happened to catch a glance of a little girl on the swing, she was all alone.

Eva was surprised "What is Avry still doing here"

Eva turned her phone off and went out into the playground. She waved her hand as she called out to Avry "Hey Avry....what are you still doing here"

Avry turned to look Eva and she smiled brightly "Hey Miss Eva"

She got off the swing and came before Eva.

"What are you still doing here....didn't your caretaker come to pick you up"

Avry shook her head "She didn't come"

Eva frowned as she looked at Avry.

"Hmmmm....Alright, let's wait a bit" Eva decided to wait a bit beside Avry.

'I wonder if something happened, usually Avry's picked up very early'

Eva waited until six but no one came to pick up Avry and she was starting to get worried.

Eva picked up her phone and dailed the number of Avry's caretaker, but after six trials, no one had answered still.

Eva was now really worried. How long was she going to have to wait here and most importantly, when were they going to come for Avry.

Eva waited anxiously beside Avry and before they knew it, it was already eight twenty five and it was very dark outside.

No one had come to pick up Avry and Eva was worried but by now they were waiting in the classroom.

"God...when are they coming for little Avry....the caretaker who usually comes for her has taken far too long now"

Eva wondered as she looked at the six year old little girl beside her.

The little girl yawned from tiredness.

Eva sighed heavily and looked at the little girl beside her with a light smile.

"Hey Avry.... can I ask you something" Eva asked gently.

Avry nodded her head slightly as her big adorable eyes stared at her teacher.

"Do you wanna come home with me....It's getting pretty late and I can't leave you here"

Avry's eyes sparkled from excitement. "Yes Miss Eva...I wanna come with you"

Eva smiled brightly but she couldn't help but scowl inside "What kind of people forget about a little girl at school to such hours"

Eva checked her watch and saw that it was eight thirty pm and the school had practically closed.

"Huhhhh...." Eva sighed deeply and stood up "Come on Avry...let's go. Hopefully someone will pick you up"

Avry stood up and followed Eva.
