First step

It was night, everything was dark around Yang Qi. There was nothing that could be heard except the heavy breath of him. He had quite the high expections because of all the things the Deity said to him.

He cultivated for a few hours now and the sun is already about to rise but there still weren't any signs of improvement. One must know that although Yang Qi couldn't cultivate, he still meditated every day for a 2 hours and trained his perception of his environment. He also trained martial arts but couldn't really reach anything besides a sturdy body because he didn't know any sword, movement or other techniques.

This means he was only a bit stronger than the average human but way weaker than a cultivator in the Qi refining realm. In the Daichi continent there are five cultivation realms that are known. The first is the Qi refining realm, the second is the foundation building, the third is the golden core, the fourth is the nascent soul and the fifth is the Nirvana Realm. Each Realm is divided into three stages, the Initial Stage, the Middle Stage and the Exceptional Stage. The Initial Stage consists of the first to the third layer, the Middle Stage consists of the fourth to the sixth layer and the Exceptional Stage consists of the seventh to the ninth layer.

The Qi refining realm is the most common, many young cultivators are able to reach it. The Foundation Building is one of the hardest realms to reach because you have to build an extremely strong foundation, this determines your future progress, if you build a weak foundation you won't be able to reach a higher realm but if you build a very good foundation you may even be able to reach the Nascent Soul realm. The foundation building realm is the most common in the outer sect of Sects or Palaces. The golden core realm isn't that hard to reach when you succesfully build a foundation, but the hard part is to continue to get stronger. It is easy to reach but extremely hard to breakthrough the stages, and with every breakthrough, it just gets harder. The nascent soul realm is way harder to reach and it is really rare for someone to reach it. Only the elders and Sect leaders have reached it. If a disciple reaches the Nascent soul, they instantly get promoted to an elder.

The last realm is the Nirvana realm. It is just a legend in the Daichi continent and you can count the people on one hand that ever reached it. If you are able to reach it, one can call himself very lucky not only do you have to have extremely good talent, but you also need many ressources in order to reach it.

As the sun was already up, Yang Qi was still cultivating but suddenly he opened his eyes.

Hmm it is morning already? I cultivated for so long but I don't feel any major changes in my body except the fact that I can feel qi now. I didn't do anything wrong did I?

Boom!

Angrily he hit against a tree that was besides him. The bole was completely destroyed and fell over.

En?! When did I get so strong? I was just one hit and I destroyed the whole tree? Yang Qi thought in complete disbelief. How did I get so strong? I haven't even reached the Qi refining realm but I'm already as strong as one? Now I can hunt a few low level beasts and eat their flesh, I'm really tired of fishing.

With that said he went in his abode, took his sword and went deeper into the forest.

On the way he picked up a few herbs and seeds and suddenly . . .

Swing! Boom!

"Ahhh!" a loud voice sreamed not too far away. Why is someone screaming? Is there someone in need of help? And what is this? A smell of blood.

Without a second thought Yang Qi instantly ran towards the sreaming person.

As he arrived he saw a White Lix, a spirit beast in form of a tiger but smaller and white. It wasn't too strong but someone in the Initial Qi refining stage definetly isn't able kill it.

A few meters away there was a Girl around the age of Yang Qi. She was barely able to stand but she still hold a sword in her hand and pointed it at the direction of the White Lix.

Mhmm, this Beast looks delicious, I wonder if it would make a good lunch. Yang Qi strangely looked at the White Lix and suddenly he had a strange desire to kill and eat it.

Yang Qi rushed towards the White Lix with his sword in his hands and jumped on it. Even tough he didn't know any techniques, he knew that every living being would die, if it was stabbed right through it's head by a sword. So without hesitation he instantly took his sword and stabbed it right through it's head. Only a few seconds after the White Lix finally died, he fell on the ground. Yang Qi jumped down and completly ignored the girl. All he wanted was the Beast Core of the White Lix. Although the beast's cultivation wasn't high, it's core was still rich with spirit qi which Yang Qi needed to breakthrough his cultivation. He stabbed and stabbed in the corps but couldn't find the Core when suddenly the girl came up.

"H-Hello, t-thanks for saving m-me." she stuttered. "I saw you s-stabbing in the c-corpse and it looked like you searched for something. Is this what you need?"

She stretched out her hand and in it there was a yellow shining little ball around the size of a pill.

Yang Qi was surprised to see her holding the Beast core but didn't bother to ask where she got it from. "Thanks, this is what I have been looking for. It will help me to finally start my cultivation."

The girl was shocked. "You didn't even start to cultivate but you could kill a White Lix? How is this possible?!"

Yang Qi took this as a compliment and answered "Thats right but thats not important now, can you help me peel of the skin?"

The girl was confused but didn't dare to say no and helped him.

A bit later the skin was peeled of and Yang Qi took the flesh. "Thanks for your help!"

"My name's Luo Ran, I'm from the Luo clan of the Capital. If you ever go to the Capital, make sure to stop by okay?"

She strangely looked at him and said.

"Well, I will see

With that said he jumped and ran back to his home letting the girl alone in the forest.
