Chapter 4:World Awakened Association

Two weeks quickly passed and it was time for Damien to visit the Awakened Association. News had already spread that the son of the New Dawn Guild's Guildmaster was a prodigy and would register as a Tier 1 Enhancer when he was only six years old.

The general public didn't believe it at first but when there was no denial from either the New Dawn Guild or the Awakened Association, the views started to change.

The other guilds, especially the older ones, never doubted the rumours. After all, that monster was one of the Top 10 Emperors and didn't have any reason to lie. They just knew that another monster had been born in the New Dawn Guild. And to make it even worse, it was the old monster's grandson.

The people who had survived that monster's rage 50 years ago still nearly pissed themselves when they remembered that incident. Around seventy years ago, that monster had found an abandoned baby and adopted her.

He raised her as his daughter and around fifty years ago she had been assassinated when he was in seclusion and breaking through to Tier 9. When he came out of his seclusion and found out about her death, he had gone berserk. Countless people died that day. He was so strong that it took five Tier 9s of which two died, to stop his rampage.

They still didn't know the specifics behind it because all those who had a hand in it were brutally tortured and killed. They were just thankful that they were lucky enough to survive and hoped that the little monster would be different from his grandfather.

But Damien didn't know about any of this. He was just excited as it was his first time going outside. They boarded their private jet and headed for Geneva, where the World Awakened Association's Headquarters were located.

On the plane, Sam looked at his son who was giggling with excitement and hoped that he would be able to protect that smile forever. They landed in about six hours and headed to the New Dawn Guild branch there.

They decided to visit the nearby market because Damien wanted to. Afterwards, they spent some family time together and went to a carnival. Damien enjoyed the circus in particular. They had dinner and returned to the guild branch.

The next day, Sam took Damien to the World Awakened Association. One could see the awe in Damien's eyes as he exited the car and gazed at the majestic building in front of him.

But that was soon interrupted by the flurry of reporters quickly surrounding them.

"Is it true that young master Damien is registering as a Tier 1 Awakened at his age?"

"What do you have to say about the rumours that you took part in a demonic ritual so that the young master could awaken early?"

Questions, each more absurd than the last were flung towards them. Finally getting annoyed, Sam released some of his aura instantly silencing everybody and calmly spoke, "The New Dawn Guild will soon hold a press conference. If you have any valid questions, you are welcome to attend. But if somebody disturbs me or my family before that, they should prepare for the consequences of their actions."

There weren't many who would threaten these reporters so calmly without fearing the media backlash that it would create. And the reporters knew that it wasn't a threat but a warning. Before they could back off, a jovial voice resounded, "You're still the same when it comes to your family, aren't you Sam? Well, it doesn't matter. At least you are better than your old man."

Sam made an exasperated expression as a handsome old man came into view. The man had long red hair that resembled flowing fire and blue eyes so clear that they resembled ice creating a weird contrast.

Sam composed himself as he replied, "What is the Chairman of the WAA doing here? Shouldn't you be busy with...work? Surely you aren't here for my son, are you? After all, he is just a Tier 1..."

"A six-year-old Tier 1. That's a first even for me. So don't mind me. I'm just going to observe the little genius. Nothing else. You have my word."

Sam knew that there wasn't much that he could do in a situation like this other than comply. And it's not like he could stop the Chairman of the WAA in his territory. The man practically owned the place.

Damien just looked at everything curiously. The building in front of him was a gleaming masterpiece of contemporary design. Its sleek, reflective glass façade created a stunning visual effect, mirroring the ever-changing sky and surrounding cityscape. The structure's clean lines and futuristic silhouette made it an iconic landmark in the city.

He entered the building with his father and they headed towards the reception. Sam picked up Damien in his arms so that he could look over the counter easily. They were greeted by the receptionist, a cute brunette, "Welcome to the World Awakened Association. How can I help you today?"

This time Damien answered excitedly, "I want to register myself as an Awakened." The receptionist, shocked, glanced at Sam who gave her a small nod. She quickly regained her professionalism and answered, "Certainly but first you need to fill out some forms. You don't have to worry as the WAA guarantees complete confidentiality. After that, you will be guided to the Assessment Chambers."

She then handed them some forms. The forms only asked for some personal details and the type of Awakened he was. He quickly filled them out with Sam and handed them back to her.

She quickly went through them and was shocked when she saw that the applicant was only six years old but she knew that she needed to do her job and called a guide. The guide quickly appeared and asked who the applicant was.

Damien answered that it was him, successfully shocking the man. He had heard something about a six-year-old awakened in the news but never imagined that he would be the one to guide the little one to the Assessment Chambers.

He looked at Sam and said with some embarrassment, "Sir only the applicants are allowed in the Assessment Chambers. You can head to the Observation Room if you would like that."

The man thought that Sam would create a scene but to his surprise, Sam just nodded before putting Damien down. He crouched to Damien's level and said, "The nice man will guide you to the Assessment Chambers. Do your best there and don't worry, I will be watching you the whole time. Show them what you got."

Damien nodded vigorously and followed the man to the Assessment Chambers.
