Chapter 26 "Calming The Storm"

"It wouldn't be a problem to make all of you bow before me by skinning one or two slaughtering the young ones. But I don't find a use for broken people."

The coldness in his eyes reflected the fear from their eyes. But he didn't take any action.

He chose not to be the same person he used to be. In his home back then he had many responsibilities. Many burdens he had to bear. He could not live without any worries.

But now it was all gone. His people were on their feet now. He need not worry about them anymore. It means no need to use extreme methods.

"So you people have problems with my capabilities and loyalties."

Elders were all silent.

They would gain nothing by not letting such a powerful person join their sect. The only problem was his loyalty. Who is he? From where did he come?

They practically knew nothing about him other than his favoritism toward Xing kiangs group and supposedly, a never met before girl, Anri.

"Since you all are eating dust right now so you should have no problem with my capabilities." He paused for a bit.

"And as far as the matter of my loyalty goes, I don't trust a single soul in the world. But I will take a step back here"

Saying that he placed his right hand on his heart and spoke in a loud voice;

"I hereby take a vow on my soul and on my dao path that I would never harm the black deity sect. I am neither a spy and nor a person with malicious intents towards the sect or any of its members. I came with pure intent to become the young master of the sect. If a word of it is a lie then may my soul be banished and my dao path be crumbled to pieces"

"Let Heaven be the judge"

~inhale~

Silence filled the ground.

The young ones who had gone through heinous torture and still kept their consciousness didn't understand what had happened.

But those elders and disciples of the sect inhaled a cold breath of air.

They all were looking at the boy and towards the sky as if waiting for something. But nothing came down.

The boy just took the dao oath and survived.

DAO OATH.

One of the easiest dao to use and impossible to survive. But one cannot use it against enemies, only upon oneself.

It is an oath to prove one's innocence. One takes an oath on one's soul and dao path.

Heaven is the judge.

Heaven has a record of all that had happened, all that is happening, and all that will happen.

If it is a lie then heaven would send its tribulation down upon the one and it will keep striking him until his dao foundation crumbles apart.

Use of it was forbidden in the cultivation world unless absolutely necessary because the tribulation did not only hurt the one making the vow rather heaven's wrath destroys everything around it.

The boy took an oath and no tribulation came down. It only means that he is telling the truth.

He is not a spy nor someone with ulterior motives.

But why? Why would someone who had strength enough to control the whole formation to suppress all of them in a single sweep, want to be just young master of the black deity sect?

Although the black deity sect is powerful but not enough to be counted in the world's tops sects with regarding to strength.

"Elder this....." Anri was already afraid enough. She wanted it to end soon. Till now no one died and she wanted it to be so.

The boy in front of her already proved that even his cultivation was low he had the means to kill all of them. But he didn't do so.

Majority of the elders had same train of thought. To them, it would be highly unfavorable if a fight broke out especially when higher-ups were in the retreat right now.

(What should we do?)

An elder sent the message through the divine senses toward another.

Using divine senses to communicate ensure that no third party would be able to eavesdrop on their conversation regardless of their cultivation.

(I don't know. Now there is no doubt that he is not a spy but someone of his comprehension levels wants to be just young master it's too good to be true.)

(On top of that sect master isn't present. Only he can make such a big decision.) Another elder joined the conversation.

(But we have to find a way to calm down this calamity without bloodshed. And the calamity is not only limited to him. You know what I mean)

(He is right. We have to solve this problem fast because now a lot of outsiders know about this matter. They know that even if in such a dire situation the Guardians of the sect didn't come out then they wouldn't come out either when they attack with full force.) 9th elder said.

(He does not have high cultivation but using the formation he can win against all of us. And sect master is the only person who can control the defense formation of the sect.)

(This... But we can't make a hasty decision. The title of the young master has the future of our sect at stake.)

(So we will do this. Make him a young master in name only and letting him wait until sect master come out then we wouldn't have a problem to handle this monster then.)

(He is right I agree.)

(I also agree)

"It's okay. It's better to be the young master in name, free from all the responsibilities of being a young master and still enjoying its privileges."

"!!!!"

"!!!!"

"How!?"

Was he listening to all of it?

But how? This is impossible. No dao allows to peek on a divine sense conversation.

"It's okay, It's okay. I am not a monster who kills just because someone thought ill about me or made plans behind my back. But remember this I am not a person either to stand still when someone TRIES to slap me."

The boy then stretched his hand toward the ninth elder.

"I think the young master would need a badge as proof, don't you think so?" the boy urged the ninth elder.

The ninth elder gritted his teeth then he took out a black badge with white lining in it and threw it toward the boy unwillingly.

"Good boy" the boy teased the 9th elder.

'Just you wait. When sect master comes out I will personally break your legs.'

The old man thought with blood shoot eyes ready to tear this boy into pieces.

"Don't sweet it old man even then you wouldn't be able to do anything to me" the boy laughed.

'Fuck!!! First divine senses now he can read minds too?' 9th elder was baffled by this thought.

"I didn't read your mind old fogey, rather your face. It is like an open book to me."

The boy then announced in loud voice.

"This concludes the entrance test. Those who could keep their conscious in the first round are considered passed and those who lost consciousness, throw them out of the sect."

"This..." Anri was speechless. The acceptance test was her responsibility, wasn't it?

"It is okay. This is also good."

The elder stopped her. This way of admitting new disciples in this kind of messy situation was already the best that could be offered.

"Anri, lead the way" the boy started walking.

"Where sir?"

"Young master" the boy corrected her.

"Where to young master?"

"Hmmm.... let's see. Take me to the black deity sect's local heaven."

"Local heaven?"

"...." The boy looked at the confused face of the girl.
