Sorry

I ran through the school deserted hallways as fast as my legs can possibly take me along with my two super maniac friends. Really… I can't find enough profanities to define them. I'm little bit ahead of them considering my little bit athletic body. I repeatedly check the time on my watch. Time passing faster than normal. I'm done. we are done. we can't get through it this time. I feel like I'm running into a death trap. We are officially going to be labeled as dead today.

Every school has at least one teacher who overpower over every student and whose presence and gaze is enough to silence the whole class or even school. Well, our math teacher is this kind. She's like a freaking lion waiting for its next prey and has an eyes like a hawk. She always try to find a student who break the rules or do even a slightest tilt of their head during her classes.

We are already running 10 min late and it took extra 3 min to reach the class. If you are thinking why am I stupid enough to go to class when it's so late instead of skipping it? Because its math class. This should explain it right? I can't just miss a math class. Missing the class today and attending to next math class is like trying to write Spanish when you don't even know the Spanish letters.

'IT WAS ALL YOUR FAULT!? I exclaimed at both of my friends overwhelmed with nerves. We halt a little away from the class entrance. 'why do you have to pull a prank today when you know next will be math class. We are dead today. What are we going to do?' I said in panic.

'HEY! How is it my fault? You was the one who had to take revenge on us and waste our 15 minutes' Tracy said accusing back at me in panic too. My jaw dropped at her blatant accusation. 'And you can't blame me I forgot it was math class' she added quietly. I clenched my teeth in anger.

'SHUT IT you guys. We have to go in the class. You have already wasted one more minute. Who is going to enter first?' Rose said a little calmly then us. 'YOU!' me and Tracy said pointing finger at her in unison. 'Go to hell! I was the one to enter first last time when we were late. Now one of you have to go'

'Mary you have to go today. Pleeeeaaase' Tracy begged pushing me towards the entrance. I backed away hastily pushing her off. 'No way. I'm not going first' I waved her off like she's spotting some nonsense. 'Why can't we just skip this class then?' she said exasperated shrinking to the floor. 'We had already talk through this Tracy. We can't miss math'

'You have to go first then. Aren't you a sweet talker?' She urged me pushing further.

'No. Why don't we all enter at once? Come on let's go' I said leaving no room for argument.

I took hold of Tracey's right arm and Rose took hold of her left arm and we dragged her to the door along with us our heart beating frantically. As soon as we reach at the entrance of the door every pair of eyes swept towards us. This was enough to alarm the teacher. I let go of Tracy's arm hurriedly Rose following my suit. All of us straighten in seconds.

'WHAT IS OUTSIDE THAT YOU FIND MORE IMPORTANT THAN MY TEACHING?' Miss. Amelia's voice boomed loudly in the room. Then she turned her gaze towards us. This was enough to make us quiver. But I didn't let it show and hold her gaze even though I feel like I'm going to pee my pants well in my case leggings.

'Miss. Amelia' I heard my voice talking confidently and respectfully. Well it's a miracle to talk in front of her without stuttering. 'We are genuinely sorry to appear late in your class. Like really, really, really sorry! Can you do us a lifetime favor and let us in to acknowledge your graceful presence? Miss! You know we can't miss this class. So Please' I begged with pitiful look.

Her gaze didn't wavered nor her thoughts. I guess so its not like I can read through her thoughts. She stared at each of us properly trying to analyze god knows what. 'Why are you so late?' she said in her stern voice emphasizing each word and checked the time on her wrist watch stiffly. Which made us stiffen even more. Afraid to even move a finger. She looked at us her eyed furious and wearing a scowl on her face waiting for our answer.

I waited for Tracy or Rose to answer but neither of them moved their mouth even an inch. Let me get through this then I will show them how pleasant life can be. I clenched my fist in frustration and replied nonetheless. 'because… We forgot to check the time… and.. It was late till we reach here' I replied stupidly making fool of myself. The snickers was heard from all over the class. It angered Miss. Amelia further and her attention divert to the class. She turned around ceasing every noise from class. She gave a hard glare to every student making them lower their gaze.

A smile threatened to come on my face but I stifle at right time as she turned towards us again. 'Miss. Amelia pardon us one last time. This is not going to happen again. We will only be a hindrance to you if we keep standing here so please let us in' I requested giving one last try.

'Come! Come inside and don't disturb me' she said annoyed. We scramble to our seat hastily without looking back. Relief washed over us in an instant realizing she had led us off without punishment. But it cannot be this easy. I slumped in my seat which is in middle row in the left side of the classroom. Tracy two seats back. And Rose in front. I know Pitiful right. I laughed internally. We couldn't even take two calming breath before she snapped.

'NO! WHO ALLOWED YOU TO SIT?'

We stood up swiftly in terror. Relief vanishing faster than it came.

'Go! Stand at the back of the class. Fast!'

I took the book and pen from my bag hurriedly and rushed to the back of the class. Tracy and Rose already standing there without even holding a book. I mentally cursed at them. Another scolding is coming their way.

'Hey you two! Are you here to do an advertisement?' she snapped pointing at Tracy and Rose and eyeing their wrist which has a bunch of charm bracelets. 'Do I even have to inform you to take the book along with you?' she said her anger rising. I stifle my laugh and hide my grin behind the book. They rushed to their seats, took the book from their bag and came back. Thank god I had forgot to wear the same charm bracelet. I look at Rose and my laugh bubble out half muffled by the book. Tracy and Rose gave me an incredulous look. I smacked Rose's head lightly. 'You are holding the book upside-down' I tsk at her in a low voice. She turned the book properly smiling sheepishly. Everybody silently listen to the teacher taking notes accordingly. Occasionally I could heard Rose and Tracy's murmurs. Really! They are never going learn.

I tsk at them. 'Why are you not concentrating? If you dare come to my house in exam time to ask me to tutor you I am going to kick you out' I whisper-shouted at them. They looked at me as if my words held no threat to them. 'We are listening Mary' they said and went back to their work of whispering to each other. They are so infuriating. They know I won't speak in between the math lessons so they don't even try to include me in their conversations. I don't like it when they are speaking and I can't listen. But doesn't matter for the sake of math I can do it.

I looked at a boy seated a foot ahead of me that is the last bench from where I'm standing. His back facing me. His Dark brown hair in contrast to his loose fitting white t-shirt and black pant. His dressing style simple yet elegant. He was taking down the notes swiftly yet gracefully. He placed his left elbow on the desk and leaned his chin on his palm adjusting comfortably. Not even once in 5 minutes he looked up. Which confirmed one thing that he is not taking down the notes rather he is solving it on his own?

Off course he would. How can I forget the mysterious Elias Brown is the topper of our class. He stopped writing or likely completed his notes and gave a bored gaze around the classroom and closed his hazel brown eyes. His hair comes in contact with sunlight lightening his hair into golden brown. His hair is so smooth it tempts me to touch it. His hair fell on to his eyes, then I noticed he had grown his hair. He never let his hair grow till it covers his eyes. Wow… he look handsome and dashing. He has slight boyish face and lean figure which makes everybody fall for him. Wait…. How am I even able to see all this I was right behind him. Crap! Subconsciously I had moved to get a better view. I quickly moved to my previous place near rose.

The class came to an end after a long torturous hours of standing. As soon as Miss. Amelia was out of class the whole class buzzed with the chatter. Everybody started to rush out of class. I went to my seat where my bag was and place the book inside my bag and put both of it straps on my shoulders. I waited for Tracy then we were going outside but suddenly some girls were running out of classroom. Seeing them running towards us I hastily took few step back but even so they bumped into me so hard I fall backwards into someone.

I reflexively turned around and hold onto them making the other party stumble and he hold the desk for support in quick action. When I looked who I had fallen onto, my heart stopped beating. Fear and embarrassment started to crawl up. I got aware of my hand that is holding onto his arm and my body slightly leaning onto his. I let go of his arm and stood straight taking some steps away in flash.

OH MY GOD! What am I going to do. Elias Brown. I have fallen into Elias Brown, who doesn't like to be touched. I hadn't seen any girl who had cross a feet's Distance towards him. He never let a girl touch him neither does he goes near them. This isn't the only thing. He doesn't even look at any girls.

His lips was set in straight line. He let go of the desk and straighten himself. He tug the end of his shirt straightening it. 'I'm really sorry. It was an accident. I didn't do it in purpose' I explained hastily in embarrassment before he could walk off. 'Believe me. I didn't meant to. I'm really sorry' I added waving my hand frantically to emphasize the point. He gave a single nod looking ahead not even sparing me a glance. Well that didn't surprised me. The fact that he acknowledged my apology is big enough.

Why it was more important to explain to him was because many girls had tried many means to get close to him. Not just one, what all they hadn't tried. But off course they didn't get success. He understood every girls intention. In freshman year the whole year past, by girls trying to get close to him. Next year it became less. Every girl understood that he ain't gonna budge. But few stubborn girls were still their. That year every popular girls group started to detest him. And the popular boys who were being neglected by the girls because of Elias Brown started to get envious of him. Envious boys got the chance and mock at him every chance they got but they didn't dare bully him because of his confident demeanor and labeled him as school's outcast.

But there are many people who don't see him as school's outcast. Excluding popular groups they are many girls and boys who could kiss the ground he walks on. Let me be honest, I don't like to be viewed as the girl who like to throw herself on a man. So I'm not gonna let him go until he say he forgives me.

'Am I forgiven? I don't like people holding grudges against me!' I said blocking his path. 'I don't hold grudges against innocent people' he said quietly, his voice having a musical edge and left the classroom side stepping me. His barely spoken words accelerated my heart beat and left me dumbstruck.

'Mary are you alright?' Rose and Tracy came into view

'yeah. Off course'

We exited the classroom and went off to next class. Me and Tracy having the same class went together and Rose to other class. My whole day distracted by the thought of certain person.
