The following day after my girlfriends had left, I decided to call my mother and tell her about my engagement to Aminu.

"Hello, Coco, how you dey?" My mother asked me the moment she answered my call; from the tone of her voice, I could tell she wasn't happy about something.

"I'm fine, Mummy; good morning, ma," I greeted her.

"Good morning; I was even thinking of calling you once I get back from church. This one that you are calling me this early, you nor dey go church today?"

"Mummy, I will go to church; what is the problem you don't sound happy about?"

She sighed, "please don't worry yourself about it; we will talk when I come back from church; there is nothing the Lord cannot do," she said, dismissing my concern.

"Mummy, it's obvious that there is something wrong with you; please tell me what it is; you know my mind won't be at rest until you tell me."
