Chapter 22

"I was too pumped... Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Sara withdrew her hand and massaged it. She wrinkled her nose and thought, "It's sore. That's going to bruise..."

Simon did not notice her reaction. His eyes were fixed on the meek and dainty beauty. He asked softly, "Tell me Sara, did my uncle force you?"

Sara smiled grudgingly, "Simon, why would you say that?"

He pursed his lips, "Because he... he's someone who would take advantage of others! Sara, you promised to be my girlfriend. We promised each other to be together forever and always..."

Simon and Hank were behind the Camellia Tree. "Oops... looks like I have accidentally eavesdropped on someone's conversation." Simon's coal black eyes fell on Hank.

Hank was sitting in the wheelchair quietly. He looked at Simon and Sara from afar and asked Simon, "What are you trying to say?"

Simon paused for a moment and lowered his gaze, "Look, I know Grandma went overboard. She arranged your marriage without your consent, but this girl is innocent... If she's truly in love with Simon, you should..."

"Let them be together?" Hank finished his brother's sentence and stared angrily at him. Although he was sitting in a wheelchair and was shorter than his brother, he looked intimidating.

"Think of it as doing a gentleman a favor." Simon coaxed.

"I'm not a gentleman." Hank sneered, "She is mine the moment she entered the room. I'm not letting her go.

Let alone letting her be with another man.

The thought of Sara being with another man brought out the dark and possessive side of Hank, He would destroy anything that got in the way.

Simon frowned. He couldn't understand why Hank had to be so stubborn, they had many arguments because of that. Of course, Hank had never taken it seriously, Simon was the only one who was angry.

"Will you kill her if she chooses him?" Simon probed as he remembered Hank's health condition.

Hank was about to say yes subconciously but he repressed his urge.

If Sara died, he would no longer hear from her. Her firm and porcelain skin would also turn pale and no longer be soft. She would no longer blush, talk or cry whenever he teased her... Life would become meaningless.

He closed his eyes, "I'd turn her into a handicapped and lock her up for the rest of her life until she listens to me."

Simon had always been a righteous person. He strongly disagreed with his brother's cruel and sadistic thoughts. Just as he was about to speak up, Sara's voice came from the White Camellia Tree in front, "Simon, those were your words, not mine. I never promised you anything."

Simon was speechless.

Sara stepped away from him, "I have never promised you anything."

"Sara!" Simon had a hoarse voice, like he was going to cry, "How could you..."

Sara pursed her lips, "Simon, didn't I tell you? I will never have feelings for you."

It broke her heart to say it but she said it anyway, "Now that I'm Master Bishop's wife, you should address me by my name. That way, it'd be better for everyone." She looked up to the moon and continued, "Master Bishop should be back by now. I should get going."

"Sara!" Sebastian grabbed her hand, "I've loved you for so long! How could you do this to me!"

Sara's hand hurt a lot, so did her heart. Sara frowned and was disappointed, Simon had never been like that. After all, he was always a gentle and respectful person.

Simon was choking up, "I know you would never give up on yourself just because of power and wealth. Tell me the truth, please..."

It broke Sara's heart.

Sara used to have fantasies about being with Simon. He looked like sunlight when he smiled, as if he could light up the darkness. However, every girl in University was jealous of her because of Simon. If Sara walked with Simon after school, her desk would be trampled down the next day. If Simon smiled at her or patted her head, she would be picked on in the toilet. If Simon sent her home, on the next day, the girls would scribble on her textbooks with the words, "Die, Sara!"

In fact, the girls knew that if not for Sara, Simon wouldn't have made friends with them. However, they were still disappointed that the most popular boy in school was in love with Sara. What's worse, she was not only ugly but also an illegitimate child.

Hence, they came up with multiple ways to separate Sara from Simon.

However, Sara never once told Simon about the hardships she had endured.

She looked at Simon. If only fate was in their favor, she would have had a lot to tell him, but he was transferred to another school and she had no chance to say that. Now, she couldn't express it anymore.

Sara took a deep breath and said, "I think there's a misunderstanding, Simon. Contrary to your beliefs, I do love money. Otherwise, I wouldn't have married into the Bishop family. You never got to see my true colors. Let's put an end to it now."

"That's impossible!" Simon didn't believe it. What he wanted was the truth. "That's impossible! Stop lying to me!"

"You hurt her." A cold voice came in the dark. It sounded menacing like a demon came from hell. Hank showed up in his wheelchair, looked at him coldly "Let go of her."

Simon was stunned, "Uncle..."

Sara quickly released her hand. She was close to tears from the pain of being grabbed. She quickly ran toward Hank and hid behind him like a frightened hamster.

Hank didn't look at her. Instead, he said to Simon, "Simon, I'll give you three seconds to apologize to your aunt."

Sara was stunned and Simon narrowed his eyes.

"Three." Hank sounded coldly. Sebastian's gritted his teeth. His handsome face looked troubled.

It isn't fair! How could his uncle have stolen the girl he had loved for so long?

"Two."

Hank's gaze turned even more frigid as if he was thinking of possible ways to kill his nephew with whom he had no blood relation.

"One."

"Hank!" Sara got nervous. She grabbed Sebastian's hand and looked at him with her big round eyes, "Let's go back. It's freezing cold..."

Hank raised his eyebrows and looked at her, "Are you protecting him?"
