Was He Too Late?

"Jingyi, I heard from Wenwen you broke up with Bai Liancheng."

"Yes. It's been three months now."

"And you have a fiancé?"

"Yes. Speaking of him, it's funny when I thought of it. How we met, how we developed our feelings into mutual. Do you know that he and I knew each other in our childhood? It must be destiny."

Lu Jingyi's gaze were gentle and loving when Mo Zhexuan was mentioned. It was the opposite when she was with Bai Liancheng.

Luo Yixuan had this thought perhaps, just perhaps he could try to win her heart even though she had a fiancé.

Looking at her expression when her fiancé was mentioned, he was utterly defeated. He could never hurt her feelings. He never wanted to let her choose.

Luo Yixuan's hands that grabbed the steering wheel was tightened.

Soon, they arrived at Lu Jingyi's house.

"Thanks for the lift, Senior. See you."

"Wait."

Lu Jingyi was about to get off the car but stopped at Luo Yixuan's request.

"What's wrong?"

Luo Yixuan couldn't find the words what he was trying to say and ended up saying something else instead.

"Nothing. I wish you happiness with your fiancé."

"Thank you."

Lu Jingyi smiled widely to him and bade goodbye. Luo Yixuan smiled to her in return. When she turned around and walked inside her house, Luo Yixuan's smile faded away.

Once the sight of Lu Jingyi was gone, Luo Yixuan bumped his forehead to the steering wheel. He was feeling hurt inside.

Was he too late? Should he have return earlier? Will she choose him instead?

All these questions were answered by what he saw in Lu Jingyi's expression.

Feeling bumped, he drove back to his house. When he got back, Mother Luo saw his son was in a low spirit and wondered what happened.

"Son, what happened? Why are you making that face?"

"It's nothing, mom."

"I can see not nothing on your face. You can't fool me by your expression. It's clearly something happened that made you pulled a long face."

"It's really nothing, mom. I just need time to be alone."

"Sigh. Fine. Remember to come down for dinner."

"Mm. Okay."

Although Mother Luo was worried about her son, she didn't bother him and let him be alone as he wished.

Luo Yixuan went back to his room and picked up a bottle of wine in his suitcase. At first, he wanted to gift Lu Jingyi and Xu Wenwen the bottle of wine each but he forgot.

Luo Yixuan drank one of the bottles and sat near the window where the breezy cold wind swept across his face.

He looked up the stars above reminiscing the past when they were still in high school.

Lu Jingyi and Xu Wenwen was always together. Wherever they are, they will always be the attention of the school.

He too was interested in what kind of person these two were enough to make all the students and teachers paid attention for.

Because he was one year older than them, he rarely saw them in the freshmen building. When he saw those two by coincidence, he knew why they were the center of attention.

The two of them were total beauties and it's hard not to look their way. Even their personality was unique.

So how did they meet? It was purely by accident and coincidence.
