Her Father

Song Yi Chien silently watched Qiao Nuo as she ate her ice cream. The couple went back to the villa after. "I have to finish something, you can go ahead and rest."Yi Chien said heading inside his study room. Yi Ran who was watching them from a far followed Yi Chien inside the room. "Yi Ran, I'm tired what do you want?"Yi Chien asked. "My reliable source told me something interesting happen at the bar today."she started.

Yi Chien's brow furrowed. "and who's that reliable source?"he asked. "Not going to say, but how did it go?"Yi Ran asked. "Qiao Nuo was able to solved the mess on her own."Yi Chien said. "That's our girl."Yi Ran said proudly.

Yi Chien set his attention on his computer screen after, hinting for Yi Ran to leave the room. Qiao Nuo who was on the other room eyed on her phone. Lin Sen's name popped out after a while. "Are you going to answer it? or do you want me to do it?"Yi Chien said snatching her phone away.

"Song Yi Chien!"Qiao Nuo called "I just had my surgery"Yi Chien reminded as Qiao Nuo tried to snatch her phone. She slowed down after hearing Yi Chien's words. "Good."Yi Chien said answering the phone, and signaling her to be quiet.

"Mr. Lin, was the hassle you created at the bar not enough?"Yi Chien asked. "I just want to talk to Qiao Nuo."Lin Sen replied. "Well, she's already asleep. Goodbye."Yi Chien said turning off Qiao Nuo's phone. "Have a good rest, and do me a favor block that number."Yi Chien ordered.

He was about to make a cool exit when he realize he needed Qiao Nuo's help. Stepping out of the bathroom, "Hey, can you help me with my shirt?"Yi Chien ordered. Qiao Nuo sighed, and without saying anything a word help him.

The next morning Yi Chien got an unexpected call from Qiao Nuo's father. Looking at Qiao Nuo who's still deep asleep, Yi Chien step out of the room. "Pa, what's the early call?"Yi Chien asked with a slight chuckled.

"My birthday would be approaching, I want you and your wife to be present."the old man said. Yi Chien hesitated for a moment, Qiao Nuo and his father never had a good relationship. "That would depend on Qiao Nuo."Yi Chien honestly replied. "Please convince her, it's been a while since I last saw her."he begged. "I'll try to talk to her about it."Yi Chien said then he hanged up.

Yi Chien was already at the dining hall when Qiao Nuo woke up. "Why didn't you wake me up to assist you?"Qiao Nuo said. "Don't worry about it."Yi Chien said taking a sipped of his coffee. "About your dad's birthday."Yi Chien started.

"Song Yi Chien, me and my dad don't have a good relationship."Qiao Nuo reminded. "He called me this morning, he wants us to be present at his birthday banquet."Yi Chien said. "Who knows...it might about turning over assets."Yi Chien said. "Who cares about his assets, I earn enough money to survive. I have you as well."Qiao Nuo winked.

"Don't you think he's getting old, he might need your support."Yi Chien said. "What about his second wife, oh wait....she only know how to spend his money."Qiao Nuo sarcastically replied. "and my lazy half brother Qiao Huo, that bum pretty much spend all his time gambling."Qiao Nuo added as she started eating her breakfast.

"We should come, for the show."Yi Chien said. "What can I get for attending?"Qiao Nuo cheekily asked. "What do you want?"Yi Chien asked "I'll think about it...."Qiao Nuo said. "Fine, let him know we're going."Qiao Nuo said wiping her mouth after few bites.

"Are you done eating?"Yi Chien asked. "Yeah, mentioning my father made me lose my appetite."Qiao Nuo said leaving Yi Chien.

Qiao Nuo reported to the law firm after. "Shanshan don't schedule anything next Friday, I have to go somewhere."Qiao Nuo said. Shanshan eyed on her calendar. That day would be Mr. Qiao's birthday. "Do you want me to prepare something?"Shanshan asked. Qiao Nuo stopped walking. "He might be retiring, so a tie or a new watch might not work anymore.

"Find a nice golf set."Qiao Nuo said "Yes Miss"Shanshan replied with a slight smile.
