27 Investor

The ladies in the mansion became so busy the next day not minding the raging storm outside. They spent the whole day brainstorming on finding solutions to the farm's problem. Even Amy's security team volunteered to help since they were not doing anything.

Everyone was startled when Maya jumped out from her seat and shouted, "YES!!! Found it!"

"Gosh! Do you want us to have a heart attack?" Mary retorted placing her hand on her chest.

"Sorry, just got excited. Look at this…" Maya asked everyone to move in front of her as she showed what she found on her laptop. "It says here that Barnes Group Inc. is looking for any start-ups or small businesses that they can invest in. We fit all their requirements. One of them is that, the product should be edible."

Amy cannot believe their luck and cannot help but get emotional at the possibility of getting an investor to save their farm. She skimmed through the details and her excitement was immediately thrown out of the window, "The deadline for proposal submission is today Maya, my goodness, can we do it?"

Seeing the worry on her best friend's face, Mary quickly rebutted, "Of course we can, and we will provide them not only with one proposal but two."

Everyone's jaw dropped at her utmost optimism. They only have a few hours to create a proposal and Mary is suggesting submitting two.

Mary chortled upon seeing everyone's surprised faces. Mary wouldn't dare to say that unless she was prepared. Amy's parents paid for her education from kindergarten to college and she was very grateful for that.

In return, she studied business administration back in college to help Amy someday. She thought that without Amy's parents, she and her family would not experience the comfort in life that they had.

She studied hard not only for Amy's family and hers but also for herself. She really wanted to manage a business someday, whether it was hers or Amy's. She doesn't mind at all since she treats Amy's family as her own.

Mary did really well in school and graduated with flying colors. A lot of companies offered her a job but she chose to stay with Amy even after the accident. Amy almost lost everything and acquired a huge debt, but she did not leave.

Her loyalty to the family and her best friend is priceless for she knows that Amy will do the same for her.

"Relax… I already have a proposal for the cafe remember? We can just tweak that a little bit and add something for the farm. We can make it like a buy 1 take 1 deal, which will definitely benefit them more," She then winked at everyone.

Everybody got what she meant after a little more explaining so they agreed and they soon all worked on their proposal.

Amy and Henry were so busy with their respective responsibilities that they didn't even have time to talk to each other in the morning. However, Henry never fails to read the report coming from Ava.

He instructed Ava and the team to always inform him of Amy's whereabouts and he also asked for pictures together with it.

Henry was very efficient in expediting all his business engagements and meetings. He was able to shorten his two-week travel into just one.

"Where shall we go first when we get home so I can inform my men to prepare?" Rei asked as they walked out of the meeting room.

"We will go straight to the business expo. Instruct Anton to prepare a contract" Henry tersely replied. "Oh, and book a reservation in the restaurant near the expo. We should celebrate after," he added.

Rei did as he was instructed. Soon they reach a restaurant where they will have another working lunch. They arrived early since Henry wanted to take a breather first before jumping into another business meeting.

He was so tired after taking no rest to rush everything so he could go back to Amy which he misses so dearly.

Amy and the girls were in her room finally resting after racking their brains out to finish their proposal which they submitted on time.

She felt relieved that they made it on time and was hopeful that their work would be chosen. She and the girls were chattering on her bed when her phone rang.

It was Mary who picked up the phone, looked at the caller ID, and squealed her lungs out upon seeing it was Henry. "It's your lover boy babe! Can we listen?" Mary shamelessly tried her luck on her best friend.

"NO! You can't, give me that!" Amy quickly grabbed her phone from Mary, knowing how audacious her best friend was. She knows Mary will definitely ask embarrassing questions to Henry.

Amy hurriedly walks towards the balcony as she answers the video call. "Hi"

[What is going on there?] Henry could hear the shrieking voices in the background making him smirk as he shook his head.

"Don't mind them, they are elementary kids trapped in an adult body, who can't seem to understand the word privacy," Amy just can't believe how immature and embarrassing Mary and her cousins are acting right now.

They were shouting I miss you, I love you and mwah mwah, making sure Henry would hear it on the other line.

She went out to the balcony to answer Henry's call to have some privacy but those three were peeking out the glass door of the balcony squealing like fan girls.

[Hahaha, I want to meet them] He can't help but chuckle at Amy's answer.

"I will introduce you to them when you get back, but not now, they are not behaving very well as of the moment hehe," Amy giggled still hearing the teasing words from inside her room.

[Alright, I'll look forward to that. How are you? I've heard you were busy today] He asked.

"Yup, I and the girls worked all day, even Ava and the team helped. You look tired Henry, are you ok?" Amy noticed how dark the skin under his eyes was. She somehow pitied how he looked and she doesn't know what came to her but she just wants to give him a hug to comfort him.

[I lack sleep these days. I'm trying to finish everything that I came here for so I can go back to you. I'm always thinking of you Amy, I miss you so much. I feel like I'm going crazy] Henry couldn't help himself. He felt he needed to voice out what he was feeling to keep him sane.

Amy felt the sincerity in his voice and blushed upon hearing his words. She wanted to utter back the same words but she was bashful to do so.

Amy was not able to reply to Henry as Rei called his attention, informing him that the people they were going to meet had just arrived. She went back to her room after saying their goodbyes.

The girls were no longer by the glass door but oh boy they did not fail to tease her as soon as she came back.

"So… How's your lover boy," Mary teased as her brows moved up and down smiling at Amy.

"He looks very tired. I'm worried," Amy sighed loudly as she sat on her side of the bed.

"Wow, what is this we're hearing? You're concerned about him. You like him don't you?" Mary blatantly asked.

'I do' She wanted to tell everyone, but not yet. She's not ready to announce it to the world. "Don't start with me Mary, let's go to sleep. You have to travel back tomorrow and we will all be busy."

After two days, Amy received an email from Barnes Group Inc. She merrily informed Mary and her cousins of the good news. In another three days' time, they have to personally present their business plan and show the investors their product sample.

They divided their work to fast-track everything since they joined the search at the last minute. Mary and Sandra will take care of the product samples, Maya is in charge of the sales report and Amy will be the one to present their business plan.

Amy decided to stay on the farm over the weekend to prepare for the presentation which Henry allowed. He also ordered her guards to help her in any way they could to make sure Amy would be fully prepared when the day came.

It was the last day of their planning. Tomorrow is judgment day, their only chance to impress the investors and convince them that they are worthy of their investment.

Everyone was busy arranging everything that would be needed tomorrow. Mary and Sandra chose their best-seller products for the investors to taste. Mary asked her mom, the café's pastry chef to bake Blueberry Cheesecake, Mango Panna Cotta, Banoffee Pie, and Mulberry Crumble.

On the other hand, Sandra roasted the beans that Mary needed to make Espresso Shots, Caramel Macchiato, Caffe Mocha Frappuccino, and Vanilla Latte.

The presentation will be held in an auditorium where a business expo is currently ongoing. They have to show the investors their plan perfectly so they decided to practice Amy in convincing them.

They stayed on the covered patio pretending to be Amy's investors and audience.

Sandra, Mary, and Maya acted as the investors while the rest acted as the audience.

On their demo, everyone is allowed to ask questions to make sure that they cover all possible scenarios and will be able to answer everything that the investors will fire at her. They made sure to make it hard for Amy so she could be fully prepared for whatever she would face tomorrow.
