7 BLINDING LIGHTS

A man sat behind the large desk at the center of the room repeatedly signing a pile of papers. Placing a mark on them each one at a time. Just as he completed the final one, his assistant made a timely entrance.

"Sir, the phone has been ringing non-stop", he walked in holding a note in his hand.

"I told you to tell her that, I'm busy with work", The man rolled his eyes as he finished, proceeding to stand on his feet grabbing his jacket.

"She said, it is too late for you to still be at work. You should be resting", the assistant could imagine her face as she quoted her words from earlier.

"What did she want?", the man in a custom suit asked with a bored expression.

"Madam asked me to invite you to dinner this weekend. She insisted you must take a break to visit the house",

"Hou Ming!", the men stood at the door without turning back to his assistant.

"Yes Mr. Ling?", he stood attentively.

"Handle it", he walked out of the CEO's office.

"Yes sir", before the assistant could reply Ling Feng was already down the hallway.

Back at the scene of the princess.

Wang Yu Yan was greeted with flashing lights, foreign-looking people that crowded around her. They must've known she was the princess. What if her cover had been blown and the assassins would come looking for her. She ran out of the huge pond she had erupted from. Some coins under the pond made it rather uncomfortable to walk across though.

Her bare feet felt the dry ground beneath her as she raced to find anything of familiarity. Wang Yu Yan had never seen anything of the sort. The building soared high above from what her eyes could see. And every direction she'd turn she met no hint of nature. Everything contrasted with what she was used to seeing.

All her life she had known it to be dark when night time came but somehow the place was very bright in the midst of the darkness. The stars. Wang Yu Yan clearly remembered that tonight was a starry night but looking up she saw no hint of crystals in the sky.

And then it dawned on the princess, this can't be Guan Continent. Or at least not any land near the kingdom. Wang Yu Yan never ventured out herself but she knew from the story she was told by her maidservants and some well-traveled royal soldiers. According to their description, none of them have ever described a forest that had tall buildings instead of trees.

And no forest she had heard of had so many people dwelling in it. It was night time but she had already seen more people than she can count.

Wang Yu Yan had stopped in her confusion as she felt her mind spiraling out of control. Had she died and came to this distant land. The princess didn't know what to make of this.

She balled her hands into fists as she squeezed them tightly trying to relieve her dizziness. The object in her hand then came to her attention. It was the red moon necklace.

Looking at it Wang Yu Yan remembered the stall owner, and what he said earlier that day. Did he have something to do with this? Wang Yu Yan knew that she might be on to something but the more she thought about it the more she was left confused.

Even if this man did this to her, how would she be able to find him? More questions came to the princess's attention as she stood in the same position for far too long. Crowds and crowds of people passed by her until the were no people left on the street.

After all her contemplation Wang Yu Yan decided it was best to look for answers. From her standstill, she went into a sprint running any direction her feet led her to.

As she was high in motion bright lights blinded her eyes, forcing her to look in the direction of the incoming strange-looking beast. Before she could comprehend what it was Wang Yu Yan felt her feet knocked off the ground. Rapidly she soon after felt her head bumping into the ground followed by the sounds of a siren in her ear.

As Wang Yu Yan felt her eyes forcefully closing, her blurry vision caught the silhouette of a male looking figure walking towards her. Before she knew it she was gone.

"What's wrong with you, Yu Jun? Can't you do just one job right? ",

Ling Feng quickly opened the door from the back seat of the car. He was fuming as he walked over to look at the scene, "She came out of nowhere, Sir. I swear I didn't mean to do it. I was driving with caution. I promise", his driver had already met him at the front of the vehicle with the strangely dressed girl at their feet.

Ling Feng had to interrupt his hysterics as his driver kept proclaiming his innocence, "Shut it!", he raised his index finger dismissing his long-time driver. How could he make a mistake like this?

Ling Feng saw the blood oozing out of this female's delicate hair. She looked so brittle and tender that he was afraid the car had broken every bone in her body. His blood rose as he looked at the horrifying scene getting a glimpse of everything.

Looking to his driver's side, poor Yu Jun. He was panicking more than Mr. Ling Feng had the will to share. Pacing back and forth he was occasionally holding his head in despair and roughly letting go.

"What are you doing? Start the car. Rush to the hospital now",

Ling Feng already had the girl in his arms and he quickly but carefully placed her at the backseat of the car while he took the passenger seat as his driver took off as fast as he could. Time was not on their side from what Ling Feng felt on the girl's pulse.
