122 A special someone (1)

Mike's room really was tidy. Vera couldn't stop being surprised.

«I'm not here to make it chaotic,» he pointed out at some point.

«And where are you going to sleep?» she asked, considering their options.

There was a bed in one corner and a small sofa on the other. Mike's parents had put it there when they had realised Vera would spend more time in Mike's room than in her own.

«I'm a girl, so I get the bed,» she said, using his same words.

To convince her not to sleep alone in her grandmother's... It was Vera's house, since that day... To convince her to come along, he had told her he would worry about a girl being alone.

As such, she got the same treatment a girl in need would have, which included sleeping on the bed and not on the sofa or the floor.

«I'll take the sofa,» Mike sighed.

«It's large enough for both,» Vera pointed out. It was huge for a bed, really! And they used to sleep together as kids.
