Chapter 4: Stupid.

As the chaos erupted among the guests, with shouts for those who could swim, Yun Ning struggled to reach the surface, unable to swim. Han Lixin, witnessing the scene in shock, didn't hesitate to jump into the pool and swim toward Yun Ning, lifting her out of the water.

Once Han Lixin placed Yun Ning on the floor, a swarm of guests rushed forward, offering towels and water to help her calm down. Mrs. Cheng, Mrs. Yun, and the other young misses hurried over to check on the situation.

"How are you, Ningning?" Gu Yutong, dressed in a black mermaid dress, bent down, asking worriedly as she wiped Yun Ning's face with a towel.

Yun Ning coughed intermittently as she attempted to sit up, unsure of how much water she had ingested from the pool. Her gaze shifted to the person she believed was responsible for her predicament, sitting near the pool alone, seemingly unnoticed by others.

"It's her! That woman pushed me into the water!" Yun Ning shouted, pointing accusingly at the person shivering near the poolside.

Cheng Yuze and other men from different families approached after servants reported the incident. Some guests, who had witnessed the scene, frowned disapprovingly at Yun Ning's outburst, while others remained silent, realizing they couldn't intervene. Meanwhile, a group of guests saw an opportunity and quickly nodded in agreement with Yun Ning's accusation.

"She slipped and fell into the water on her own. It has nothing to do with me," Han Lixin asserted, her face pale as she stared at Yun Ning, her brows furrowed in disagreement.

"Nonsense! You're just a lowly servant! How dare you talk back?!" Mrs. Yun interjected, stepping forward upon learning who Yun Ning accused.

"Does a lowly servant not have the right to seek justice? Must they endure baseless accusations from arrogant, wealthy individuals like you?" Han Lixin retorted, struggling to stand against the accusations. Her body trembled uncontrollably from her earlier exertions in saving Yun Ning. Yet, little did she expect that her act of kindness would be met with such shameless accusations.

"That's right! Otherwise, you wouldn't even be here serving a wealthy family!" Mrs. Yun, her large frame draped in a dark blue caftan dress, shot a stern glare at Han Lixin.

"You're truly..." Han Lixin felt her anger mounting. She had never encountered such unreasonable and shameless behavior before.

"I don't care! Arguing with me is pointless! All I want is for you to serve as my daughter's slave for the rest of your life!" Mrs. Yun interjected mercilessly, not allowing the other party to finish. Mrs. Cheng and Gu Yutong, who had overheard the exchange, wore satisfied smiles. In contrast, Cheng Yuze's brows furrowed, his lips pressed into a tight line, concealing his emotions.

What Mrs. Yun had said might have seemed excessive, but to these wealthy individuals, it was merely a trivial matter. They never held servants in high regard; to them, servants were no different from ants, easily trampled upon. However, for Cheng Yuze, the situation was different. The person being humiliated was his wife, and despite his dislike for her due to her foolishness, he never wished for her to be shamed to this extent.

"I'll say it again. She fell on her own!" Han Lixin clenched her teeth, struggling to control her rising anger as she repeated herself calmly. She could feel heat emanating from her body as her frustration mounted.

"How dare you!" Mrs. Yun stepped forward and mercilessly yanked on Han Lixin's hair, causing her to cry out in pain. No one intervened to help; even the men who witnessed the scene dared not get involved after receiving a stern glare from Mr. Yun.

Slap!

"This is the lesson you deserve! I told you to be obedient! Why won't you listen?!" Mrs. Yun's hand came down in a slap against Han Lixin's cheek. It was well known that Mrs. Yun doted on her daughter. Many servants had suffered under the hands of this mother-daughter duo whenever they appeared at major events after displeasing Yun Ning.

"Let go..." Han Lixin struggled to free herself from the grip of the woman who seemed to have lost her sanity. However, she was no match for her opponent, especially as the heat in her body continued to rise, making her feel increasingly dizzy.

Cheng Yuze clenched his fists, unable to bear it any longer. He had to intervene. It would be disgraceful if those people found out that Han Lixin was his wife, and he felt helpless seeing her not fighting back.

"Fool!" Cheng Yuze ground out between clenched teeth. Unable to bear the scene any longer, he stepped forward, intending to intervene, but a furious voice cut through the air.

"Stop!"

Mrs. Yun's actions froze instantly, surprised that someone dared to interfere and even commanded her to halt. She realized she had paused because of that voice, and her surprise turned to anger. She redirected all her fury onto the person in her grasp, continuing to rain down slaps upon them.

Han Lixin was so dizzy that she could hardly think straight. She wanted to fight back, unwilling to appear so weak in front of so many eyes. However, she felt utterly helpless, unable to summon the strength to push the frenzied woman away as the fever took hold.

Before anyone could react, a petite figure rushed forward and delivered a powerful kick to Mrs. Yun, sending her sprawling to the ground. She then turned to help the person lying there.

"Xinxin!" The lady knelt beside Han Lixin, cradling her in her arms as she gently laid her on her lap. Only then did she notice that Han Lixin had lost consciousness.

"Is there a doctor here?" She looked around anxiously, her pretty face etched with worry. Everyone exchanged uncertain glances, but no one dared to speak up. They still regarded the woman in the lady's arms as nothing more than a lowly servant unworthy of help, especially now that she had offended the Yun Family. No one wanted to risk attracting trouble.

"I'm asking all of you! Are you all deaf?!" The lady demanded furiously, incredulous at their indifference.

"Jian Yu." Cheng Yuze's gaze signaled to his assistant. Understanding his young master's intent, Jian Yu let out a resigned sigh before approaching the lady and Han Lixin.

"Please excuse me, Miss. I'll call the Cheng Family's doctor right away!" Jian Yu offered, ready to carry Han Lixin to a room. However, the lady stopped him.

"There's no need. You, come and carry her," she instructed one of the bodyguards accompanying her. Obediently, the bodyguard stepped forward and lifted Han Lixin into his arms as directed.

"You lead the way. I have something to settle here," the young lady instructed Jian Yu, who nodded and led them to Cheng Yuze's bedroom.

"You lass! Aren't you afraid of death?!" Mr. Yun couldn't contain his anger after witnessing his wife being kicked by the young lady.

"You must be Mrs. Cheng, Xinxin's mother-in-law," the lady remarked, folding her arms and ignoring Mr. Yun's threat as she glanced in a certain direction.

Mrs. Cheng's expression soured at the lady's demeanor.

"The Cheng Family dares to treat Xinxin as a servant... Do you think the reputation of the Eldest Young Miss of the Han Family can be so easily trampled?"
