1 Part 1

Laura Jane Amberley

It was just another day on the train, ugh how I hate  taking the train everyday. Every morning it is the same thing, wake up, train, work, train and then home again afterwards. Today was a Friday, doing exactly what I do every other day of the week. But something in my subconscious told me to be wary, something was not right and definitely out of place. Shrugging that feeling off when the train stops, I gather my bags and prepare to climb off.

But still that feeling comes back. Climbing off the train and onto the platform, I look up and see the most gorgeous guy in an officer's uniform, he looks deep in thought, clearly looking for someone. Erasing these thoughts from my mind, he looks up at me, then down at his phone before looking back at me. Thinking it is a mistake I begin walking towards the staircase before he approaches me.

"Excuse me miss, are you Laura Jane Amberley?" Shocked and lost for words I just nod quietly. "I am sorry miss Laura but I'm going to have to ask you to come with me." Scared I look up at him, "Is something wrong officer?" He looks at me sternly before replying, "I am really sorry but I was told to only escort you to the office and not answer any questions." Becoming frustrated the longer we walk, I notice a shift up in the sky as it goes darker. 'Shit' I think to myself trying to calm down. When the officer finally stops walking he turns to face me, "I am really sorry Miss Laura." Confused I begin to say something until I feel this sharp pain in my neck. Looking at him frantically I try to say something, but soon my world goes black.

I stopped walking and turned to face her, "I am really sorry Miss Laura." I say before two guys walk up behind her and give her the sedative drug. My stomach churned as I watched her reaction and her body then go limp. Jeez, why was I asked to do this, I didn't even know what the professor was going to do with her. Looking up at the sky it shifted again and got darker for the second time after meeting this girl. Something was definitely not right.

A week later I am called by the company, Professor Thompson works for, saying I am wanted there immediately. Sighing I climb onto my bike and drive there. It's around midnight when I finally get there and I am in an irritated mood from being called so late at night. "Ah, Mr. Reynolds, you finally made it." I am greeted by the secretary as I walk through the door. "Professor Thompson is waiting for you in his office." I smile at her before walking towards the office. I knock on the door opening it slowly and walking in. "Close the door."

Closing the door silently, I walk towards his desk, "You wanted to see me, Professor?" He turns around and looks at me. Half his face is scared up and my eyes widen in shock, "Are you ok? What happened?!" He sneers before saying softly, "Did you know that the girl you brought here had powers almost like yours? Because she did this to me Reynolds!" I take a step back, "N-No, s-sir I didn't know that." He sneers at me again, "GO! Find the girl and bring her back here!" I nod before leaving the office. I leave the building silently cursing to myself. Walking around back I take off my jacket and letting my silvery wings unfold. After warming them up I take off, 'Is she that stupid to take off from one of the most powerful guys in the world?' I think in frustration, 'I cannot let her get away, otherwise the professor will have my head on a spike!'
