First night in a new room

It was a very nice night that day. Ivan, Emilia and I just came back from the special lesson and as it took quite a while the sun went down already and it had turned night when we arrived back here. But I just wasn't sleepy at all. I felt full of energy, so I went for another walk around the school campus. However, I couldn't discover any new things, as the dorms weren't surrounded by other buildings. After a while the heat which built up in my body from the test still continued to bother me and I switched from walking to running. I ran and ran till the point where I could barely move my body anymore. Luckily I didn't go too far off from the dorms and so I headed back for my room.

After sneaking in the room, to not wake up Emilia, I changed myself into my pyjamas and immediately got into my new bed. With all the running I did, it didn't take too long for me to fall asleep and end this first day in a new chapter of my life…

"…."

"...."

"…..u"

"Yooo….."

That night I couldn't sleep very well because I dreamt something weird. A voice was bothering me the whole night and whispered what seemed to be my name continuously but didn't say anything else. "Maybe I got sick from all the night late running. Hopefully nobody notices me getting ill in school", I thought.

In the morning, we were woken up by a loud ringing sound. After further investigation it turned out to a stone with infused celestial energy. Apparently one can use celestial energy for other things than just fighting. With enough skill and craftsmanship, a skilled hybrid is able to create a stone such as this, which we later found out is called an alarm. It had to be quite expensive but I doubted that we were the only room with such an alarm. Probably every single room in the dorms had one of these. The military seemed to not bother with any expenses when it came to punctuality.

I waited for Emilia to finish showering while further inspecting this stone. I could barely make out the celestial energy flowing in it, so I decided to touch it but nothing happened. "Well, too bad", I thought, putting the stone back onto the table which stood right in the middle between both our beds. After five more minutes, Emilia finished showering so I took my turn. I was still able to feel the heat from yesterday, so I chose to shower very cold to finally get rid of it.

After cleaning ourselves, we went out of our rooms to head for the school building. But just as we were standing in the exit of the dorm building, Noelle, the caretaker girl of our dorm stopped us.

"Don't you kids go off to school without eating anything", she said and guided us to a big breakfast room. I had to admit that I was getting quite hungry already but since we didn't know our way around, I decided to take care of it later.

We sat down at a table for two and Noelle brought both of us a plate with scrambled eggs. I happily digged into it and even after eating the whole thing I was still left hungry. Noelle, however, noticed this fact and immediately brought me another plate. "Noelle, you are the best", I said after she gave me the second plate. I also ate the entire thing once again but this time I got my fill.

"Wow, you really don't look like you can eat so much", Emilia said, smiling at me.

"Me neither", I admitted.

"But I have to say, it was very delicious. Reminds me a lot of the cooking from my orphanage", I said to Emilia.

"Oh, so you are an orphan too. I'm sorry for you, Yoru, must have been hard to get used to live without your mother", Emilia comforted me.

"Well, I never got to know her, so this has never been a problem for me. I only know the orphanage. How about you, Emi?" I asked curiously but immediately noticed my rudeness.

"Ahh, don't worry, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to", I added.

"No problem, Yoru. I never got to know my parents either, as my mother died when I was still a baby. Afterwards I was put into the orphanage without delay. And for my father, well he probably left after getting my mother pregnant like all angels do", she told me.

"Oh okay, you seem quite alright with it. Hey Emi, something was bothering me for a while already. Do you want to be me friend? I mean we both have a similar background and will live in the same room for a while and stuff…" I asked her nervously.

"Yeah sure, gladly", she said.

This improved my mood even further and so we chatted for a bit longer talking about topics such as food and our lives in the orphanages. Emilia seemed to have had it rather hard in her orphanage, as she got bullied quite a lot by the human kids. That's probably why she was so shy all the time. But after opening up, I noticed that she actually likes to talk alot.

After having a hearty breakfast we finally went to the school. Despite having breakfast it was still early in the morning, so the alarm has woken us up at a time I wasn't really used to. The other students seemed to be very tired as well.

"Oh well, this is going to a long day", I said to Emilia, jinxing it.
