STAGE THRITY ONE: THE PHREINIAN PRINCE

Alyon ran as fast as he could, but as soon as the smoke cleared, his companions were already gone. Instead, before him is Galun, his elder brother. "Alyon, now I know how the brat escaped." Galun said, pushing Alyon into a corner. "You traitor! I've always known that your twisted mind will someday ruin Phrein! Why are you helping the sworn enemy of your people!?"

"It's you who don't understand, brother. No matter what happens, I will help Phrein. Even if it means destroying our ties, even if it makes me your enemy."

"Alyon!"

"Galun, WAKE UP! Celestials and humans, the one who drew Phrein to its fall is we, phreinians! Celestia is falling apart, the humans are not even aware of our existence, but it is our own desire to rule that is destroying us! We are only using Celestials as an excuse to get more than what we need! Unless we let go of our desire to rule over them, we will keep on hurting our own people!"

Alyon passionately voiced our his ails, clearly recalling the day his own mother, a consort of the ruler of Phrein, and his little sister, a princess, were both thrown into a pit of fire just to make a weapon against celestials. At first, he thought it was for the good of Phrein, and that it was the fault of the celestials. But the more he explored the worlds, the more he saw how things really are with his own eyes, the more he became sure that is not the case.

"Can't you see how celestials killed our father and brother, Alyon?"

"It isn't the celestials that killed them, it's us. The celestials defended their land. They never invaded us in the first place!" Alyon tried his best not to fight, hoping that his brother might still be swayed by his words. Because, no matter how much he hated his brother's actions, he is still the brother that once taught him so many things. "Brother, I really admired you. You taught me so many things. Including the love for our homeland, for what is right. So now, I will follow the path I know, will save Phrein." Alyon pulled the long sword on his back. He used his aura to transform it into a long, whip.

"Then, I'll have to kill you Alyon."

Their clashing ideals clashed with their swords. Though one of the best warriors in Phrein, Alyon is only second to Galun, who is hailed to be the strongest.

"And after you destroy that orb, do you know what will that little girl do? She'll wreck Phrein. She'll have her revenge against us, after what we did to Celestia and her friends. Do you still want to help her? She will kill you the moment you become useless!"

This time, Alyon was silenced. He considered what his brother had just said. Although he's firm to his decisions, his brother made sense. It was a possibility he cannot deny. Alyon's distraction gave Galun an opening. The tip of Galun's sword grazing his neck, and a thousand aura ropes appeared, binding his entire body.

Alyon, was defeated.
