A New Starting point

The hospital was safe, but how long would that last? If my suspicion was correct, then whatever was outside, it would be best not to idly sit by and wait.

Now the question lay between where I would go.

Although I'm not particularly sure what's really going on, the urge to leave this place was all that I could think of.

But before that, I thought it would be better to equip myself with a few of the system rewards.

Divinity:

Elements bestowed to those who are worthy.

Within the cosmos, there are 7 elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Dark, Light, and Destruction.

Strongest to weakest: Destruction → Dark → Light → Fire → Water → Earth → Wind.

Each divinity has its own pros and cons.

The difference in strength may differ depending on the individuals that possess such power.

Next was the short sword, which I quickly brought into my palm. The weapon itself was extremely light and seemingly efficient to swing.

Rune Stone:

Loved by many, coveted by all. What's yours is yours, and what's mine is all.

(Upon merging with divinity, the item will be available to use)

Staring at the red orb that lay in my palm, a sense of uneasiness burst into my body.

"Ugh, that thing gives me the creeps."

Beginner's Grade Sword Skill: Dance of the Wind.

[Does the host wish to learn the skill?]

'Yes.'

As warm waves enveloped my body, I couldn't help but stagger as I clutched my head due to the overflowing surge of memories.

The process went on for a while, and it didn't take much longer for another "Ding!" to reach my ears.

[You've learned the "Beginner's Grade Sword Skill: Dance of the Wind."]

"It seems the system has made some changes," I thought to myself, pondering why the system hadn't done this all along.

As my thoughts drifted elsewhere, I finally returned to reality when the word "beta" struck me. It wasn't impossible, and I only came to this conclusion based on the events that took place in the past.

After some time to sort out my thoughts, I then initiated the system to merge the "Wind Divinity with my mana core." Unfortunately, I didn't possess a mana core, so the system used the divinity it bestowed to make one.

The process was easy, and throughout the process, there was no pain, aside from the chills that ran down my spine.

Next was the rune stone, which I had no idea about due to the limited information.

[Ding! You've merged the rune stone and have gained the skill: Absolute Resonance.]

[Ding! Your stats have risen significantly. Ding! You've gained 6 stat points to distribute freely.]

With the system's new functions, the chance of leaving this place was much higher. Now that my stats had risen, I could clearly feel the changes in my once weakened body.

At first, I was comparable to an old turtle, but now I was brimming with life like a young pup.

'Stats.'

Absolute Resonance:

With Absolute Resonance, the host will be able to resonate with all.

With this skill, the host is able to control the wind that envelops one's life.

[Skill may or may not work on beings that are 5 levels higher than the host.]

To summarize the system's lack of explanation, Absolute Resonance was pretty much a skill that helped me resonate with nature or more specifically: all the animals, places, and things that have a trace of wind.

Let's say, for example, that I'm in a fight and my opponent is weaker than I am. Instead of prioritizing my opponent, I could simply control the wind around him. What would happen if my opponent inhaled more than he needed to? Would his heart explode, or would he drop dead?

In its very own way, it was similar to when you stick your head outside of a speeding car.

[Ding! The pros and cons of your divinity are now available]

**Pros:**

- Great offense and defense

**Cons:**

- Requires utmost concentration

- Abnormal mana consumption

- The divinity is only limited to what the user's body can handle

After a short while of navigating the system to get a basic understanding of the skills and divinity, I could now move on to the other task at hand: leaving this place.

Glancing around the room, I came across a few objects, but none of them were worth mentioning. With a silent nod, I made my way to the door, turning the knob slightly until a small click sounded, confirming my way to success.

Pushing the door open, I instinctively glanced out through the crack for any sign of a person nearby. But, to my expectations, there were none.

This was to be expected. When a crisis is knocking on one's door, what choice does one have but to run away?

Unfortunately, that wasn't entirely true since I could clearly hear the noises next door.

Shaking away my thoughts, a bitter smile adorned my face as I slipped out of the room.

Anyways, it wasn't like I was committing a crime or any—

Boom!!!

Gra!!!

As the horrifying cries from the nearby room played like music to my ears, I couldn't help but notice my trembling hands.

Was I scared? I don't know. As my breathing became unstable, I couldn't help but hold my chest as I contemplated whether or not to help the folks that resided in the hospital.

"Wait, help—should I help someone? Do they deserve my help?" As reality hit me like a rock, I couldn't help but reminisce about what happened in the past.

No matter what way or how I looked at it, I was betrayed, and that was the harsh truth of reality.

As time passed, I found beads of sweat rolling down my face as my heartbeat became even more audible to my ears. Yet, this did nothing to stop the screams for help next door.

Help! Help me please, ahhh!

No! No, please stop.

"Help! My daughter, she—she needs help," an elderly woman shouted at the top of her voice as she rushed with a little girl to the security guard nearby.

"Madam, slow down." One of the two men was the first to start up a conversation.

Like the guards requested, the woman's steps came to a halt.

"H..Help me, please... it's... it's my daughter... she... she's not responding."

Sensing the woman's frustration, the guard placed a hand on her shoulder as he added, "Madam, calm down. Let's bring your daughter to the hospital first."

As the guard busied himself with the elderly woman, his co-partner on his left couldn't help but shake his head bitterly.

'I swear I can't see what this guy sees in older women,' the man thought as he gave the youth a strange look.

Bored, the man decided to follow along with the two, while of course giving them some distance.

The three eventually arrived at the hospital, and along the way, the man couldn't help but notice that the woman's attention was drifting elsewhere. It was as if her daughter's life held no importance whatsoever.

As the man watched the two in silence, he couldn't help but ponder how much longer the child would live. Because at the rate these two were going, the kid would undoubtedly not live much longer considering the pace.

"Who am I to say something? If the woman was in a hurry, she wouldn't be here." With such thoughts, the man simply discarded the idea of intervening in the situation at hand. He was only here to protect the people in the hospital, so since this woman had barely stepped into the premises, she wasn't his concern.

Minutes went by and the man slowly saw the changes in the woman's approach. At first the woman stood a slight distance away but now she was glued to the youths side.

Kissing his neck whispering into his ears and even grabbing onto his groin.

But as they say fortune does not favour every and anyone.

Squish! Pop!!!

Gra!!! Snap!

Ahhhh-!!!!

With a span of a minute the man watched as the eldery woman pulled the youths balls of before stuffing it into her mouth. It didn't take much longer for her to snap his neck, tore off his head and silently gawned at his neck.

Upon seeing this the man's body froze when he saw the woman skin tone become even more paler at a rapid rate.

As the woman gnawed at the youths body the man couldn't help but notice the small bite mark on the woman's hand .

'Bite mark? She didn't have that before she enter the premises.'

What happened after was a gruesome Tale that not many would know .

Save? Can I save people? Why ? Why save them? Can't they save themselves?.

As my thoughts went on a rampage I thought of many ways to stabilize my emotions but none of my ideas seemed to have sparked what I want.

The responsibility to save people weren't n my shoulders...no it wasn't so why? Why fret about those who have not the slightest idea of my existence?.

As I pondered upon this question I found my mind digging up the good memories I have and also a portion of the bad .

At this moment I knew the answer I had was with me,it always was .

My lips trembled as I pried them, ready to relieve myself of this heavy burden.

"I Takashi swear to myself that within my life I'll only help those of my own accord. As I raise these finger finger I swear to myself that for the next year's to come this is the amount of time I'll ever help someone in need."

As the burden that held me down slowly made it's way off my shoulder I couldn't help but notice the system message displayed on the system screen.
