Prologue

Alex POV :

I've always been a firm believer that life has a way of kicking you when you're down. The world can be a dark, unforgiving place, and I've always known it. It's like everything is rigged against you, and no matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to catch a break.

Today was no different. I lost another freelance gig to some kid who probably barely knows how to code, probably using an AI software. It's a race to the bottom, and I'm feeling the pressure. I used to think I was destined for greatness, but I'm starting to realize that maybe I'm just another cog in the machine.

As I walked through the outskirts of Albuquerque, New Mexico, trying to escape the chaos of the city, I couldn't help but reflect on my life. I've spent years honing my skills as a programmer, and yet, it seems like the world is determined to keep me from reaching my full potential. The frustration is palpable, and I can't help but wonder if there's any point in dreaming big when it feels like the universe is conspiring against you.

The desert has always been a sanctuary for me, a place where I can find solace from the trials and tribulations of life. Today, though, the peace was shattered by an unsettling feeling that I couldn't quite put my finger on. It was as if the world was trying to tell me something, but I couldn't make out the message.

As I wandered deeper into the desert, I stumbled upon an abandoned military facility, long forgotten and swallowed by nature. My curiosity piqued, I decided to explore the area, hoping to find something - anything - that might help me make sense of my life.

And just like that, the world seemed a little less dark, a little less unforgiving. Maybe, just maybe, this was the break I'd been waiting for. The universe, it seemed, had finally thrown me a bone.

In that moment, I felt a strange mix of fear and excitement. I had no idea what this discovery would mean for my life, but one thing was certain: things would never be the same again.

So there I was, thinking that my life had hit rock bottom, when suddenly, I found a spaceship. I mean, seriously, a freaking spaceship!!!!
