Awakening

Outside the restaurant, an anomaly was forming on the atmospheric edges of Planet Charh.

Purple streaks of lightning suddenly appeared in the space surrounding the planet!

In a far away galaxy, on a discrete planet that wasn't on any star maps.

There was currently a very important meeting happening right now!

The Guardians was the group that formed the leadership of the Guardian's Guild. This group was currently hosting this meeting which involved thousands of other attendees.

All the attendees were people of high-standing in the universe. From Ancient Family elders, to intergalactic conglomerate leaders, every person had heavy influence.

They ultimately had control over their respective galaxies.

Thus, everyone represented the core of the entire known universe!

"Now that the main topic has finished, shall we move on to the second order of business?" The head Guardian of the meeting was speaking. He was on a huge floating platform at the center of an enormous circle shaped conference hall.

There were thousands of other people on small, individual sized floating platforms. These things formed a semi-circle around the center. Like a theatre or auditorium, the platforms were on different levels. This design was so that everyone could see the center seat clearly.

Suddenly, a loud warning rang out throughout the entire hall!

"A Netherstorm Anomaly is occurring! It is at the initial stages. Location: Planet Charh. Emergency Action Required. Grade 10 Threat is now active in the Dusk galaxy!"

The robotic voice repeated this warning several times.

"Netherstorm?!" Over two-thirds of the people in this conference room were greatly disturbed. The remaining people frowned.

"There has never been a netherstorm next to a planet before!"

"How is this even possible?! Don't they only spawn in deep space?!"

"Planet Charh is a dimensional gate hub! This completely disrupts trade and traffic!"

"Who cares about that! Millions of starships and billions of residents are there. Start an Evacuation Order immediately!"

Of all these people, the one that was panicking the most was Pearson! He was the guardian in-charge of Planet Charh!

Without hesitating, he summoned his dimensional beast to the hall. It activated a portal to Charh immediately!

A netherstorm would block out all spatial channels once it finished the first part of its formation! If he hesitated, he might never make it in time.

He jumped into the portal the second that it stabilized.

Normally, summoning your tamed creatures during a meeting was a grave offense. These meetings involved too many important figures. Thus, many restrictions were in place to assure safety.

Pearson, as a Guardian, represented the meeting's host. It was very out of place for a host to break these restrictions without thinking!

Fortunately, this only bothered a few people. The vast majority recognized Pearson and knew he was the Guardian in charge of Planet Charh. Thus, many of them were very understanding. If their own planets were facing a potential netherstorm, they would probably do the same!

The head Guardian at the center floating platform frowned. He cared more about the order of the meeting than the fate of an entire mega-planet and its inhabitants.

On Planet Charh itself, billions of people stopped what they were doing. Everyone looked up at the forming netherstorm.

"Mommy, what are those purple lights?" A small child could see purple lightning streaking throughout the skies.

The mother didn't say anything and tightly held her child. She recognized the signs and it felt like a boulder was sinking in her heart.

"This.. how is this possible?!" Many scientists witnessing this phenomenon were scared. They could instantly tell it was the beginning stages of a netherstorm.

There have never been any recorded incidents of a netherstorm forming around a planet! They've always been rare anomalies found in the empty areas of deep space.

"Why?! I just settled down on this planet and it's about to be destroyed?!"

"Repent! The end is near! Fall on your knees for humanity is facing retribution!

"Daddy, are those lights controlled by bad guys? Why are so many people screaming about not wanting to die so soon?"

"Oh my… have mercy on our poor souls."

Countless people fell on their knees in despair.

After a couple minutes, the netherstorm became more visible. All the dimensional gates on the planet were now inoperable. Fortunately, there were emergency measures built into these gates. These measures that made it so that nobody got stuck in a dimensional passage.

Planetary ships, for the first time in centuries, started landing all together. It was very dangerous to pilot a ship near a netherstorm that was about to breach the atmosphere.

The dangers of the universe are one of the main topics taught in secondary education. As a result, countless people understood that the sight of a netherstorm basically meant death. This was something that even spatial artifacts couldn't escape!

Millions of starships on the planet tried to escape. However, the storm engulfed the entire planet and created an unbreakable barrier. A few starships that tried to rush through got vaporized. Seeing this, all the remaining starships stopped trying.

Giving up, countless starships floated back to the ground as their pilots and staff lost all hope.

Outside the planet, many starships turned around immediately! Their pilots activated everything just to get farther away.

Some of these starships were soon pushed to their limits. They could only go so fast, yet the pilots in control kept pushing it to go even faster! That's how terrifying a netherstorm was to them!

A few minutes before the massive planet-wide panic.

Inside the restaurant room where Erin and his group was, the source of this entire anomaly was actually unconscious.

Erin passed out because the mental pain was too unbearable for him!

Alice panicked and rushed to Erin to check his vitals. When she realized his physical body was just fine, she relaxed a bit but was still very worried. Erin was far too unresponsive!

Ron and Alfred both sensed an odd fluctuation coming from Erin's deep subconscious. Ron sent out his shadow werewolf. It quickly encapsulated the room with a protective barrier. To Ron, this barrier should prevent the anomaly from leaking out of this room.

Unbeknownst to Ron, the anomaly had already started forming elsewhere.

The shadow werewolf's barrier worked too well. It also prevented the soon-to-arrive emergency notifications from getting in. None of their communication devices received these warning messages.

"Will Erin be okay?" The two children were on the verge of tears. They saw Erin fall unconscious and this sudden collapse scared them a lot. Erin's upper body fell on the table!

They worried that Erin actually died of over-eating!

"I should have stopped him from eating!" Olivia complained to herself for not acting sooner. She was too intrigued and didn't say anything just to see how far Erin could go.

'Maybe the 49 tables of food exploded in his stomach!' Olivia's thoughts got out of hand and she began crying."

Edward looked horrified too. Other than worrying for Erin's well-being, Edward's thoughts also got out of hand.

'If I eat too much, will I also die of over-eating?'

Edward's face became more somber as the seconds passed.

As everyone's panic was reaching a peak, a small dimensional portal opened above Erin's head! A purple light flowed out of this portal and took the shape of a shiny purple egg.

The egg floated above Erin's unconscious body.

"..This is?"

Everyone in the room thought the abrupt appearance of a floating egg was startling!

They were all thinking similar questions.

Where did this thing come from!? Why is it floating on top of Erin?

The egg emitted a very fragrant smell. The scent calmed down everyone's tense nerves.

Weird numeric symbols appeared above the egg. These symbols appeared very ancient and were changing at an even pace.

Alfred and Ron were both old and experienced. When they saw these symbols appear, they knew it was Draconic language! That meant that the egg was probably a Dragon's egg!

'Why is it so small?' Alfred has seen quite a few dragon eggs before. Usually through very high-profile auctions that happened every other decade.

These auctions were very rare since Dragon's are extremely difficult to tame! Even when personally hatched and raised!

The floating egg's size was comparable to a normal chicken egg. In terms of volume, Dragon eggs are usually thirty times bigger than that!

Outside the restaurant, chaos was erupting around every corner of Planet Charh!

The netherstorm was getting very strong. It could break through the atmosphere and destroy the entire planet at any moment now. Every city was flooded with tears and a sense of hopelessness.

At the peak of the netherstorm's power, the floating egg sensed that it's summoning had been complete. It sent out one command to the core of the netherstorm. In less than one second, the entire netherstorm condensed into a tiny stream of purple liquid!

From the perspective of everyone else on the planet, it was like the netherstorm completely disappeared! The pilots in the starships that got vaporized from trying to escape earlier would probably be rolling in their graves. The netherstorm that they thought would destroy the planet actually just vanished after some time passed.

The egg opened a small dimensional portal and the tiny stream of purple liquid flowed through this portal! Although the egg absorbed most of the liquid, some drops of it fell onto Erin's head and got absorbed by him as well.

An influx of information poured into every corner of Erin's mind. The liquid was an extremely valuable treasure. Just a few drops managed to upgrade Erin's intelligence and increase his knowledge to be up-to-par with the current era!

Once the egg finished its absorption of the liquid, it began hatching!

Thousands of tiny clouds and purple lightning streaks appeared. They came out of the egg-cracks and floated around the emerging creature.

It looked very mystical!

A small purple lizard popped out and started eating the eggshells around it. As it ate, the lizard sprouted a couple wings from his back that grew quite big. The wings looked like it could cover the lizard's entire body and still have some wing-span to spare.

'That's the most unique dragon hatchling I have ever seen in my life!' Alfred's eyes went wide.

Edward, Olivia, Alice, and Ron were simply speechless.

'Does eating a few tons of meat let you summon a dragon?!'
