15 Mission Hall

After a little while, Kyle made his way into the mission hall. It was buzzing with students from different years, all searching for a perfect mission.

He glanced at the large mission board on the wall and once he found a mission that suited him, he headed towards the section of the hall reserved for new students.

The hall was divided into three parts: the right side for first-year students, the middle for second-year students, and the left for third-year students.

There were plenty of missions available for new students, including some tasks from the upperclassmen like laundry or dorm cleaning in exchange for points.

After considering all the options, Kyle decided to go with the easiest mission that he felt confident in handling. Also, the location of the mission aligned with where he wanted to go.

Approaching the young man behind the reception, Kyle handed him the mission page.

"Hello, I would like to take on this mission."

The man gave him a weird look when he saw the 'herb collecting' mission. But he still took the torn mission page and registered Kyle's name for it.

"This mission was put up a week ago. You have got two weeks to finish it and bring back the item."

All the missions in the hall had time limits, so students had to finish them within the given timeframe.

"Alright."

Kyle nodded and left the mission hall, heading straight for the Academy's exit.

As he walked out of the Academy, Kyle turned around and stared at the majestic gates. It was still hard for him to believe that he had gotten into one of the biggest academies in the kingdom.

Just a week ago, he was thinking of living his whole life depending on his family because he knew he was weak. Never in his wildest dreams would he have imagined that after entering the Academy, he would find such a big secret about himself.

Kyle clenched his fists. Now that he had a chance, he wouldn't stay weak anymore. He didn't aim to be the strongest, even if his bloodline gave him an (S)-Rank talent, it would be enough.

The one thing he hated the most was being looked down upon by others. After his mother's death, he wasn't a complete loner, he had a few friends. It was only after the talent test that everyone left him just because he had a weaker talent.

He thought about his father and brothers, who were always by his side, supporting and encouraging him. Even after he awakened a (B)-rank talent, they never stopped caring about him. Kyle wasn't sure if the red snow flower would work, but now that he had hope, he promised himself to become someone his family would be proud of.

Kyle shook his head and stopped thinking. It wasn't the right time to dwell on all this. Without wasting any more time, he left, heading straight toward the back mountain.

It took him an hour just to reach the base of the mountain, and as described in the book, a large forest that spanned over several kilometers appeared before his view. As he reached the entrance of the forest, he chose to enter without even thinking twice.

Some might think Kyle was being too impatient and disregarding the danger present inside the mountain, but that wasn't true at all.

The mountains surrounding the Academy indeed had monsters, but due to the students' continued hunting for the past so many years, it was very rare to see a monster inside the mountains. However, if you climb high enough to reach the top of the mountain, there is a 10% chance of encountering some high-rank monsters.

However, the monsters present at the top of the mountain have been living there for a long time and rarely attack others, unless they're disturbed. Since Kyle has no plans to disturb them, he deems it a very safe journey.

Due to it being his first time traveling on foot for so long, Kyle was exhausted, but he decided to grit his teeth for his future. The expression on his face shows that he won't stop until he finds the red snow flower!

One hour later, Kyle, who was determined to reach the top of the mountain without taking a break, can be seen sitting beside a small pond filled with water. His determination only lasted an hour before he opted to take a break.

"Humans are born to take breaks, if they didn't, then who will? Anyway, it's not like the red snow flower would run away if I took a break."

Kyle hummed. Then, he took out some cooking ingredients from his storage ring and lit up a fire.
