Training (part one)

It would take a little over a month for the Thanagarians and the Justice League to set up everything and because I had already warned everyone in my own way, I did my part and decided to use this month to finally get to training. I had no interest in fighting with the Thanagarians because I felt the league could do it without my help. I just needed to make sure to make off with a ton of their technology while everyone was fighting later.

Because I wanted to make the most of my time I decided to train in the holodeck instead of the training room. If I trained in the training room, Id have to cut my time in half. I didn't want to do that and so I kicked the shark out of Hila's room and said my goodbyes which took around twenty minutes and then I made my way to the holodeck and had the system lock down the room.

"Computer give me moving targets at different distances and durability" After saying so, the computer spawned a number of targets within a couple miles distance within the holodeck. My goal was to create three new Ki techniques. I needed at least one that I could fire off quickly in a rush, an area of effect skill that could harm multiple enemies within a certain distance, and I also wanted to create a finisher that did great damage.

I usually used just regular small ki blast's for quick attacks, but I felt it was too simple and didn't have enough damage output. The thing about ki is that even if you had a power level of a million, your power was still pretty contingent of how long you built up you ki to some degree.

I needed to keep the time period minimal like my regular ki blast's, but make the output larger. The easiest way I could think of doing that was to build ki up in both hands at the same time instead of one and then combine them into one ball after the fact.

I began the process of a normal ki blast build up in both my hands to each side of me and then immediately after tried to combine the two. With a loud bang the blast exploded in my face but thankfully it's power was not great so it didn't do me much harm. This would be tough.

I figured id work on this over time and perfect it this month. For now I would move on to my area of attack skill and give it a go. I had already planned this skill out a long time ago and even had a name for it. 'Moonlit Rain'. This attack was the opposite of the attack I just did. Instead of combining ki blast I would be separating a ball of ki into thousands or maybe millions of pieces and then raining them down around me.

Using both hands I raised them above my head and cupped them as I built up ki until It was the size of a watermelon. I could always make it bigger later, but I figured I should perfect it first. With great concentration I began to visualize what I wanted to achieve as I began slowly separating the medium sized ball of ki above my head into as many pieces as I could. Before I could even separate two, it also exploded. This time It had hurt quite a bit.

I couldn't tell if I had a lack of talent with Ki or if wielding Ki was just usually this hard. I had always been able to sense ki, fly using it, and build it up fairly easy. Somehow wielding ki was a bit different and more tricky. Trying the last two attacks made me realize I greatly lacked control.

Temporarily taking a break from that skill, I moved on to my third and possibly final skill. If time allowed it, I had an extra ki technique that I wanted to work on, but by the looks of my progress I doubted Id be able to do so.

I also had a name and idea for this finisher attack. It was going to be a simple large ball of Ki that I built up to a big size and then I would simply throw it at my opponent. The attack name would be called 'Theia Destruction'.

Like the last attack I also built the ki above my head and just continued building it until I thought the size resembled a giant orb of light. The ball of light was almost immediately a bit unstable and and began to become hard to hold. It's movements were erratic and due to it's size, if I dropped it on myself I worried it would kill me. Afraid of the ball I had been building up, I pushed it out as best I could to get the unstable ball away from me.

After that, all I saw was light. I couldn't even hear the blast it was so destructive. My body felt like I was at the epicenter of a nuclear blast. It felt extremely similar to the time I melted in the sun. Thanks to the fact I healed a lot faster these days and the fact the blast had come and went in a fast manner, I found myself laying on the ground already somewhat healed, but in a lot of pain as my insides began to regrow.

I had plenty of time to think about my mistakes as I laid on the floor in agony. The only way I could think to make the blast more stable was to have it spin at high speeds like a basketball or better yet a planet. I also thought that maybe I shouldn't make the ball any bigger considering it's destruction already and the fact that it would take a lot longer to build up. This attack already had taken five whole minutes to create. Time wasn't something people let you have on the battlefield usually.

It would be nice if my clones could wield ki, id just have them build up attacks like this as I fought. Or maybe incorporate my clones into my attacks. I laughed as I imagined three clones plus myself building up a Theia Destruction ball and then releasing it on some poor soul. Wouldn't that be nice.
