The United Nations

Taking the nano suit was easy. I simply wiped the floor with Virgil and took it from him. It wasn't worth going into detail over. After taking the armored nano tech, I put it in my inventory with the batman beyond costume and then headed to the U.N. 

While I waited beside the Flash for the Thanagarians to offer their fake aid, I watched the other league members closely. I didn't hang out with them often these days so it was odd to see how much they had changed since I had last seen them. Wonder woman stuck close to Batman and her eyes and words were more playful around him. They had obviously gotten a lot closer. 

Green Lantern was very obviously upset about being cucked by Hawk Girl. The two had recently made love to one another only for John to find out today that she had a fiancé. I felt for him. He really loved Hawk Girl and was clearly hurt. It takes a lot for a tough guy like John to open up to others and it's even harder for guys like him when their trust is betrayed. Hawk girl was definitely for the streets. If only they knew she was a scout/spy here to gather intelligence for the Thangarians to invade. 

Flash who was right beside me spoke up. "What do you suppose is going on with them?" I could only shake my head at Flashes question. He was around them more than me and somehow didn't get it. I wasn't about to explain the birds and bees to him. 

Finally Hawk girl's Fiancé took the stage and started to speak. 

"We are on a mission of great emergency! Five years ago we secretly sent an advanced agent to earth to learn more about your people and to study your defenses. That agent was Lt. Shayera Hol, better known to you as Hawk Girl" Hawk girls fiancé motioned to her. 

"You mean she was a spy? Cool!" Flash exclaimed. 

"She was spying on us.." Replied GL John Stewart. 

Flash suddenly realized the weight of the situation and no longer thought it was so cool. "Oh yeah...huh.." 

For someone that had a mind that could think at super speed, he could be a little lacking in the thinking department at times, but I also believed he put himself at the butt end of a joke to keep the team in a cheerful mood at times. 

Hawk girls fiancé started to speak again. "Unfortunately, LT. Shayera discovered that earths defenses were sorely lacking. With your limited technology, you are totally unprepared for what is about to come." After saying this, he pulled out a small sphere and squeezed the sides and it then projected a big holographic screen above him for all to see. 

Hawk girls fiancé continued to talk as Gordanians appeared on the holographic screen invading, shooting, and plundering Thanagar. He went on to explain that their war had been going on for many generations and how the Gordanians had done so to many other worlds as well. 

"And Now they are coming here, this will be the fate of earth, unless you accept our help." The video finally ended and the United Nation leaders all began to murmur to each other. 

"I know you will all need to discuss this further amongst yourselves, but be quick about it. We are the only hope to your salvation."

I didn't care about about his hollow words, I knew these Thanagarians were the true invaders and I felt I owed it to everyone to at least throw in a few words that questioned their motives and so I flew up to the podium and took over the mic after Hawk girls fiancé exited the stage. 

After putting on a serious face I spoke into the mic. "I'll keep it short. I'm going into secluded training and so I will be away for little while in preparation for the upcoming Martial arts tournament and so I personally will not be helping, but I just wanted to remind everyone that although all aliens are not bad, not all of them are good either. We should all exercise caution when dealing with alien matters."

My eyes wandered to the nearby Thanagarians who for a moment showed a slight displeasure which Batman picked up on even if nobody else did. I then looked over to batman, nodded to him, and then walked off the stage. 

Superman caught up to me as I was about to exit the building. "I wish you would discuss things with the rest of us before you take it upon yourself to speak on such delicate and important matters. The Thanagarians are here to help and you have pretty much said we shouldn't trust them in front of everyone and to their face. We are a team you know? How do you think Hawk girl feels after hearing her teammate question her peoples motives?" 

I sighed. I still found Superman to be exhausting, but he did have a point. I should have talked with the league first before taking things upon myself. "Hawk girl has deceived us, at the very least you should be lecturing her, not me. Also, I never outright said to not trust the Thanagarians, I could have been talking about the Gordanians for all you know."

I didn't wait for his reply as I continued talking and opening the door to exit the building. "There is a reason you and I have a hard time getting along aside from your constant lectures Superman, it's your naive and sheltered way you look at things, but also your boy scout nature. I find it hard to trust someone so full of virtue. Real people have flaws. You feel two dimensional and fake to me. No offense." 

I had already walked out of the exit without looking back, but I could hear Superman speak behind me. "I have weaknesses and I am clumsy at times, of course I have flaws."

I was done with the conversation and didn't want to waste my breath anymore. We both knew his clumsy nature as Clark Kent was an act and I hadn't been talking about physical weaknesses like Kryptonite. I still needed to work on making at least one special ki attack unique to myself and so I headed to the training facility at home. I could come back for NTH metal and technology a bit later when the Thanagarians show their true face to everyone.
