119 Champions Navi (Final)

After today I wasn't going to be at the store much, I was going to leave the business for Osul to run for me. I was just here today to make sure everything was in order and ran well for when I wasn't here in the future. I was of course also excited to see how the store was received by the public. By the looks of it, it seemed that it had been well received. It's already become a place where everyday citizens and Heroes came and shopped side by side for a number of different things.

This was also part of my plan. I wanted Heroes to seem more approachable to the common person. Flash was the only hero I knew of that was approachable to those around him, it would be nice if more Heroes were like him. The Justice Leagues image still wasn't the greatest in the public eye, but this should be a step in the right direction even if it was me just forcing it.

Not long after dealing with Billy I saw Zatanna and Speedy walk into the store. Zatanna was a half magi that was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Although she wasn't as wealthy as her childhood friend Bruce Wayne, she could become a wastrel and spend money her whole life and never run out of it. Speedy was also somewhat wealthy, but not as wealthy as Zatanna or even his mentor Green Arrow. Zatanna and Speedy were perfect first day customers and I welcomed anyone with big pockets to spend their money within my new store.

Seeing Speedy checking out the purple cloak I had hung up in a display case earlier, I approached him and spoke. "Does this hooded cape interest you?"

Speedy hadn't been as surprised by my sudden presence as Billy had been and he replied to my question with a cool head. "If this robe really does increase your speed by two times and helps you blend in with your environment, then its great, it's only..."

"Only what? Too expensive? I feel it's reasonably priced. I understand if a young man your age doesn't have $120,000 usd at your disposal. I can't change the price though. Sorr-."

Speedy held up his hand and cut me off in the middle of what I was saying. "No, it is indeed reasonably priced. If anything Id say it's under priced for what it does. I just wish it came in red, black, or gold, instead of purple. It's not really my color."

Hearing his words, I didn't say anything else and instead reached into the display case and touched the purple hooded cloak instantly turning it black with red bordering and a small golden bow and arrow emblem on the front where it clasped around the neck. The actors wardrobe wasn't ever not impressive to me and often came in handy.

Speedy had his mouth open practically drooling at the new and improved cloak in front of him. "I'll buy it right now if that's okay".

I only nodded and walked away as I made my way to Zatanna who was eyeing the clarity potion that I had priced at two million dollars. I had spent quite a lot of coins on it and I valued my coins greatly so I wanted a proper return. Approaching the beautiful woman from the side, I was about to speak, but she beat me to it. "Do you mind if I have a closer look?"

Picking the bottle up off the shelf behind the register where we kept all of the higher tiered items, I handed it to her. "You break it, you buy it".

Zatanna smiled. "Of course".

She held the bottle in her hands and then spoke. "laeveR ot em eht snigiro fo siht noitop" After she said her magical words Zatanna immediately sat the potion down on the counter and held her head as if she was in pain. Worried about her, I spoke. "Are you okay?"

"Yes...maybe, ...I don't know. I need to go." Zatanna said before turning to me and speaking to my face. "Can I reserve this till tomorrow? I'll buy it then. I have a bit of a migraine right now and I need to go for today."

Normally I would say no to such a request, but it was different when I knew the person was filthy rich. "Sure, I'll set it aside for you, but only for one day". Honestly it looked like she could use it right now, but I decided not to say anything as I watched her leave. I couldn't help but wonder if the spell she had just said out loud had bore any fruit. Did she know something? Or is the system and it's items invisible even to her?

Another thirty minutes or so passed before I saw the man from the future who claimed to be my son. He was wearing sunglasses and a hat, but either my son was incredibly dumb or I didn't teach him much of anything. Not only was his disguise very poor, but I was also very aware of his ki signature at this point and even if I wasn't aware of it, his power level was leagues above a typical earthling. Had he never learned to hide it? It was something that came fairly easy to me.

My future son and his girlfriend all but ignored me and were focused on Supergirl instead who was currently helping stock shelves that were being emptied quickly by all of the shoppers around the shop. I was now around eighty percent sure that Supergirl was his mother. I watched from afar as my son began to shed tears as he approached Supergirl obviously wanting to talk with her, unfortunately for him, his girlfriend stopped him as she shook her head and pulled him away and out of the store.

It didn't take a rocket scientist to assume he lost his mother at some point somehow. What had happened to her in the future? Surely she hadn't died right? My future son had the face of someone filled with regret and loss while also yearning to talk to his mother if even for a small amount of time. Aware that time travel in any universe was dangerous to play with, I did what every person who was ever in my predicament would do, I decided play with it. My curiosity got the best of me.

Locking on to my future sons Ki signature I called out to Osul. "I'm going out, if it gets to be too much for you for your first day, feel free to call one of my disciples for help or just close up shop early."

Osul waved goodbye. "I think I can handle it now, thanks for helping me out on my first day."

"No problem, just make sure to make me lots of money. I have big future plans and it cost a lot to dream big." I replied before flying up into the sky and heading in the direction of my targets ki signature. It was time to confront my future head on.
