Celebration of life: Beyond Veiled Boundaries

From one world to another, the working cogs of the afterlife have suited the souls within those worlds. Slightly beyond the sight of living people is a system of order that keeps all in check. Away from worlds of magic (as was in the previous books), here is a world as we know it. But peel back the laws that prevent the living among the dead, befall a strange way of life for one individual. In all honesty: this 132 chapter book is more the removed sections of another. This is a very broken long draft, I would actually not have this one in paper copy. But the elements of this book are basically for 'Shroud Over Their Eyes'. Welcome to my headache of untangling this multiverse.

Challenges

Getting back to a normal routine as a human wasn't hard. The monotony drags anything to a basic rhythm, even the unexpected had some random chance to be expected. Like illness among staff and students. Weather patterns are irregular and dangerous to travel. Those that travel have broken down cars or slipped on ice and broken limbs.

Gladly she was a stay on-site staff member part student. The unexpected was mostly avoidable or she gladly helped in covering for teachers. Health-wise, she was getting by with such cursed sight and her bone-only hands. She progresses of age like everyone else.

Adding to some of that uncertainty is the soul snatcher incident never happened. Although there was an article on the crystal tablet about a brave group being rewarded for preventing war, all in the due effort of capture and execution of the real culprit. There is no longer a need for concern about missing soul names and any cases that remain are being handled by royal family members. That 'erased names will be found and brought back at least in some way'. Interesting. They either are wrapping time or lying to those that last loved ones about the soul snatcher. They aren't using official law in hiring a poacher. She is the poacher.

It was gladly some break time; used to be reading more news articles, watching students in the central courtyard from the window here, and enjoying a little tea with biscuits. She would often glance around her in deep thinking about the information she does know so far. Pulling together the sort of laws she was and wasn't allowed to interact with Silverstone Empire goons. The bar wipeout yielded a lot of things she tested like perception and touch boundaries.

"This is not what I expected when I told the tome I was challenging the authorities of whom governments the multiverse index." She heard that loud and clear, she uses a reflection to look at them. As expected another dull-looking guy. She doesn't even feel the need to acknowledge the freak. The book clearly has other ideas, it forming as paper origami daggers stabbing about the place like rain on a tin roof. The goon dancing is about to lessen the challenge brought about by the sentient paper.

She naturally tunes it out and sort of just big-drag yoning. The sound stops the two of them mid-pose. Paper turned from daggers to paper aminals, creeping about trying to analyse her emotions. The fear is real, the souls of this universe have come to learn she no pushover. This acting in fear put stupid ideas in the goon. The idiot took a seat across from her, hoping she was looking right at them.

"Beloved Lady." One of the nightmares creatures of her dream territory spoke up, kneeling at her side and in full body bow.

"Speak gentle little thing." She tilts softly to them, "A lost in thoughts I was."

"Seated across from you is a royal of Silverstone. Please understand any manner of etiquette is deserved by this universe's internal affairs." She raised a brow and makes a big sigh.

"This dull looking fella is one the royals that has been putting orders to kill innocent people across sigil? Do I have to be kind to someone that would have me executed if I wasn't a living human?" The dream creatures posed at understanding her point takes a soft bow and leaves. She made a sharp glare over the weird man and he jolted like she was about to lunge at him, "As per simple declaration." She bothers the full and many law gestures she needed to preform accordingly. Everything she needed to cover such as soul business to deals. She made so many waves and patterns, this guy stares at her with mild amusement in getting lost with these things. When she finished, he stays so stiff to the seat. She brought out the dagger stroke system she has. Stabbing a silver one at he front, a big deal to not reply to her gestures. Gladly the tome seems to love this soul, and began replying for him. She watched the pages fold carefully at the sort of law manners they guide to. The biggest deal was this guy can soul snatch but his not the race of god slayer or soul snatching demon. Rather the gesture was that of scythe blades law, object soul conversion.

"The Compendium of existence turly sees use in an idiot like you. Even to cover up your mistakes on your behalf." The knife taken back, "You have been brought before me under the summoning method. You came here to challenge authorities over the many universes. You must think it is an honour. You don't see the beauty of light in darkness. As of what I seen and witnessed of things so far, you or your royal family members. You are going about blindly and see to enact the universe's wishes. The carnage you are creating will eventually make my work harder to preform. But given the sheer idiot fear the tome has, it has denied me access into the Index. Thus I am simply doing what I can, bending rules where I have to and accepting of the price to pay." She rants watching the goon expressions and his clueless manners. He seems just lost away in his thoughts. She can take a good guess why. If not her soul voice but also her outward appearance. She looks quiet ordinary other than wearing gloves.

"Are you going to eat me?" She keeps a straight face at least while processing the idiot question. She does however consider that maybe his perception is able to see her outsider appearance over her living human shape. She doesn't want to play him around to find out. She simply stares darkly and takes a moment to sip tea. The crystal tablet put down on the table, making the guy tilt confused to see that here.

"Stake the rule of the duel and the prize." The tome pushed.

"I can't give away the entitlement of multiverse index keeper. Rather, it choose me. This universe doesn't have the energy pressure to fight the things I keep in check. This fabric of woven realities are unstable, fragile and loosing more of itself. There is so much not working and so many unhappy souls. So many. Yet here you choose the ignorance of ignorance as a champion to your pages. I am highly disappointed. Until this guy can prove to me that he can shoulder burdens. To uplift burdens of an entire realms of souls. To save the broken. To understand even the coldest of hearts and be guide to the missing. Until you can impress me with something exceptional. I can't even trust them with a book of another's." She sips tea, "This is not a trade of duel. I can't give what isn't mine. I am simply just a tool."

"She is not going to eat me?" The guy turns to the book floating in questioning.

"She still can if she know why she would. Shut up and duel." She plucked that book from the air and stabs a knife through the binding. It not only went though the binding but stabs layers of pages. The book bleeds ink, flowing a river off the table. The idiot stares at her, unable to move at all. Afraid of him being next.

"Do you know the difference between a grimore and the tome?" She asked with twisting the dagger in more for more damage to more pages. She makes sure it really stuck through. She brought out another knife and pokes more stabs over all the surface. She was really mean, she knows where it hurts most.

"The Grimore is a single soul being trapped in binding. The tome is more like interconnect gates for soul names to freely pass through." She stops torturing the book at least, "What about you? What are you?"

"I am me. I. Myself. Me. I am what I am." She certainly in collective could echo this in all the many languages she knows. Making the guy snarl in the vast lost voices. She sits in sort of acting annoyed but she was also testing his perception. Playing around with the sort of thickness of veils he was looking at her through. He seems to continue to squirming the seat uncomfortable with each veil change.

"Why? Why can't you duel?" It must be that the Glamoire as internal telepathy link to the guy. Maybe there is a long width of translation going on here. So she finally settles on a filter she preferred and settled on waiting quietly for them to get over such things. She has patience of plenty.

"So why are you here?" given the sort of way he asked that, his been talking to her soul. She stays silent in just letting her soul do whatever talking. But her lack of speaking made the guy scared more. The grimoire believing it needed to attempt to defend them from her. She sips more of her drink and holds at hoping they will stop being so stupid acting towards her.

"Aren't you hungry?" Is this taunting her? No. But to what purpose does taunting bring for them? Is this attempt to prove she a soulless mindless? To what grand scheme was this chess board playing off. What are meant to be the stakes for this? She has nothing to offer, no even a name to spare. She can't give other people's names. She fundamental couldn't achieve any sort of stake claims for a duel that this guy or the book would be able to walk away from. She can't risk her human life. She has nothing to loose or gain. Stalemate.

Was this a distraction? very likely but she has many faces and many limbs. Many bodies across the books to enact movement of disconnect. Just as she can detach her living status away from her dead one. She has other detached soul fragments like waking and sleeping. They weren't able to capture her entire attention. She has hands always running through the other universes and checking index statuses.

"I am sorry for not talking to you properly. I realise that I was captivated by you many soul voices." He looking at her, properly looking upon the sort of human she is. Following that the grimore is not impressed with the changed tactics.

"You not the first idiot." She tilts, "You aren't the last idiot either. All them Enders are the such soul nosy bastards too." with finally a soft recline to peer from a different angle. Now she can bother with the full proper attention she is rightfully given, "What do you think you can get out of me? Have you taken enough yet?" The shivered in shock that she knew something was sort or happening, "Taking time away. You are a time eater or whatever along those sort of laws." She stabbed the book from interruption, "I don't care." She left four knives through the book, "You have a name written within the internal system. That is all I have to care about. Those written in are those protected. But this universe is vastly full of broken, half written soul names and just problems. Fragile state if unstable thread. No strong enough to burden." She crossed her arms, "So in answering your question. I am here because there is to many souls that can be saved. There isn't exactly a solution to solve that. My options have limitations. I am here for duty. Here because its just a universe I need a closer embodied manifested shape to watch in." She glares at that broken expression the guy has, "I am unpleased with how things are. I am allowed that much as a dweller to state, cry and argue about. But I am just a soul. A drop in an ocean of other souls. To many blind souls and stubborn souls. To many broken and unable to grow. Don't want to grow or care. This universe has to many factors I can't just leave unprotected." She removed the knifes now, "Don't forget what I am. I look and have a human shape now. But I am among the many upset and uneased souls watching this universe from the outside boundaries. I am just waiting to do with what little there will be left of this universe."

"I will not allow this universe to fall apart."

"Then stop tearing the seams and save souls. Stop getting rid of the fundamental principles like darkness. Stop trying to invade. You are breaking realms and soon the interaction between boundaries like the veils will collapse." She pointed threatening the man across from her with the ink dripped knife, "The longer you keep allowing the destruction of shadow pathways. The less there will be in keeping the stability. You do not have the effort or skill to stop the wrong realms becoming aware of each other. You will break nature's intent and fall the gods. You will turn the souls you are were meant to save into ashes and erase them from existence. You will screw up when someone fundamental becomes lost. I am not going to save your ass from the suffering made by your own hands." She stabs the knife in their hand, "Just as I told the many enders in my care before. You can do as need within the limitations that the internal law allows. But I will hunt you down and make you have cosmic karma rebuke when you think everything is over."

"Sorry... did you just say that in living terms correctly?" He asked confused.

"I am the wanderer of the boundaries to unknown existence. I will devour any prey that falls into my territory. I am someone that is about giving chances. But ultimately it is the universe that uses a puppet like you and pays the price you had to make to be there." She pulls his callor at her, "You asked if I would eat you." She has him trying to pry her hand off but he can't, "I will eat everything that existence has to offer. If you want to make this easier, then go right a head. The suffering you endeavour just makes more seasonings." She pushed him out of this living realm and follow up with throwing the Grimore following that. She has many silver useless knives thrown about until the portal gateway was gone.

She sits down thinking things over with how far that interaction had gone. She is fully aware that thing's will keep changing. The ball to give a reaction was in their court. Just how will the royal family members reach to her now they know how to find her. Or was that they were stupid to realise she is a living human that could be tracked?

They didn't seem god like at all. The grimore had more existence and powers than the man did. She isn't affected by his touch but he was of hers. The soul words traded made him unhappy and that she bleed some of those things to her living existence. Her hyperawareness put them at discomforted disadvantages. Then again... she has to keep in mind that the living realm had many restrictions. He simply was limited by natural barriers. If she met them in a boundary between or another status realm. Things would have been very difficult and different.

"You just made enemies of them." A dream creature comes to inform her.

"This universe has no care or love for me. As petty as it sounds. If they want to be my enemy, so be it. I am human and they got on the wrong side of me. This universe could be better but I am still so sour and still upset of the treatment. I leave it to the many thousands of other souls to continue doing petty things. Wondering what will this universe finally realise to make things to be forgiven. I don't even ask for a lot. I am not that demanding in turth." She shook, "I don't want my old way of life back. I will be never given back my soul names. I will never be accepted. But can I at least enjoy some little things I love? Just even for a few moments to see things that were once existence here. There is some exclusively found realms in this universe that were beautiful once. But now... now its all fading away. All of these broken souls bleed my ears. There is no peace. No silence. No rest. This universe is the loudest one in suffering, it is dying a slow agonising death and all these internal issues are unsolved by the very beings that made the problems." She looks at them, "When I first came back here, I thought I was able to be strong enough to fix it all and stop the screaming. For a little while, I was making progress and hope was surfacing. But this universe thought that I needed cosmic rebuke. It broke me. Sold my name. Throw me away so many a time. I can't even have a normal human life." She sobs because this was the pain she has held back and for once there was someone able to listen, "If you think that my actions are petty. At least I am not trying to break and make it worse. I could have taken over the title of Ender. I happily could have slaughter what little was fragile little bits in my hands. But I spent the effort to repair things. This is is the reward I am given in the justice." She makes herself so small and she completely closed herself from all around her. She had to because she was feeling unstable on many waves. Not only her spirit inside and her living. She can feel deep inside that she felt wronged. Her vast many voices of her soul scream out in a chaos call. Many of her bodies were closed or done. The many bodies of her spirit spread across fragile realms withdrawn and lets them be lost. She withdrawn the bare minimal of protection she offered this universe, and now was ready to see the world's burn.

"I wish I had known sooner." The dreamer leaves with what they learnt. Following that was the spirits she pretended no knowing there. The many gods that came to protect the royal family member and lingered to see of she was going to harm. To stop her giving chase. Yet instead was a breaking glass moment, that her soul didn't come back here for nostalgic memories of her first time. She came to take what was left. That she is simply a vulture to devour the corpse if the universe.

The challenges to fix this universe from breaking was finally translated into depth understanding to the many gods that should have power to fix it. Silverstone being the new law of sigil is going to be put to the test with complicated boundaries dispute. The fake damned and the real damned are finally going to be properly processed into a tome like they should have been. Not just nameless and lost souls that been 'erased' or 'trapped'. The stake was set and there wasn't a need for her to give a reward. Fixing and saving was rewarded enough. She enjoys it herself to save others. She doesn't have anything to give because nothing was given to her. She is just done with being expected to do her duty without aid.
