Celebration of life: Beyond Veiled Boundaries

From one world to another, the working cogs of the afterlife have suited the souls within those worlds. Slightly beyond the sight of living people is a system of order that keeps all in check. Away from worlds of magic (as was in the previous books), here is a world as we know it. But peel back the laws that prevent the living among the dead, befall a strange way of life for one individual. In all honesty: this 132 chapter book is more the removed sections of another. This is a very broken long draft, I would actually not have this one in paper copy. But the elements of this book are basically for 'Shroud Over Their Eyes'. Welcome to my headache of untangling this multiverse.

"How dare you leave the dagger behind! That has our crest and the scapegoat isn't one to carry such item!" The horse whip slap harsh over young hands. All the children tasked in fetching 7 materials of each realms they forced into. Most of the children didn't know those realms were the afterlife. For these Seer children, this was a test see who was worthy of being the book keeper. The turth was that the next head in line was trying to have the new book keeper be executed and be done with not being able to work out which child of many reckless nights.

"I can't believe Alex isn't here." The youngest that wasn't even able to realm leave pointed out, "We made him one of us and his abandoned us."

"Yeah but Alex was Luna's freind before he even met us. I would bet his spying into her personal life." More smacked hands. The children all bowed in accepting the punishment, hand out and shivering in the pain. Bowed downwards in knowing that in the eyes of higher seats, they are failures. Even the youngest that didn't travel was now punished for interruption of this.

"A bag of seven angelic victims." A elder gentleman with a black cane ornated handle which is a raven holding a book. Black neat top brand suit and with his assistant matching outfit. The assistant with gloves inspected the qualities of the harvest. The largest feathers being picked out and checked over with a small hand jewelry microscope.

"Whoever got the demon horns are a terrible butcher. The hearts are useless." A succubus lass in tight office uniform crushing one the seven collected hearts. The child responsible lowered to kneeling and shivered, "You make up for it with collecting the scales in perfect condition. So you are forgiven." A little less shivering from that.

"Seven torn faces..." The demon servant then puts a second bag up, "fourteen. An other achiever. I am however grateful of the homework you went into the second half, that you took from another kingdom to add to the confusion." The glares, "The god slayer was sloppy work." The kids look to each other to work out who did that. But it's clear that it wasn't them with the god slayer.

"I am the one that lost the silver dagger. But I was not anywhere where undertakers would be." The second eldest stands, "I lost that dagger in escaping a fight with a stranger. They came from out of my veiw and forced me into combat. I took chances in losing the dagger in exchange of losing the stranger. I took extreme care in purification before returning back."

"So none of you had anything to do with the god slayer found with the fourteen slain undertakers." All shook.

"I made sure they weren't to be discovered. I blocked the frame and made sure it melted into the plastering." The child that took care of the undertakers kneels in answering the concerns, "The spirits that became damned are unable to speak without their faces." The Succubus nods impress of that detail and gives the child a pat at the shoulder for the loyal work for the cause.

"So there is a double agent among us, that is working against us." Dreaded prolonged annoyance sounded in all three high seats present to judge the children's work.

"This Luna girl that had the demon that killed Alex." The living high seat asking the children, "What do you know about her?"

"The whole school knows to avoid her, she can see like us. She can interact and saddly she just fell down the popularity for doing it in a creepy manner. She doesn't help herself being secretive of her home life. At best she lived along the high street, in the poor part of town." The gossip maker of the child's isn't the most favored child but this information is useful. Earning a pat on the shoulder too, praised for being a good spy.

"She has a weird accent, and has American spelling mistakes on top of having learning difficulties."

They stop as the elder with the cane taps them silent. The Succubus posed at thought, smirks at the red cheeks of the living leader. The children all are bowed unable to see the adults having glare matches. The assistant to the old man bows and was quick at fetching something. A class photo, bringing it to the old man and soft bow.

"I can't blame you for the reckless behaviors of a little boy. I was there when you tried to properly educate your three sons." The elder peering at the children, matching faces to photo. He softly nods in seeing the resemblances in the girl, clearly the Luna of topic, "Alex's death had to been her first time acting within stopped time. She may have been able to hear and see things. But this was her frist time where attention from other societies has noticed her." Deeply peering about her in all he can with this photo, "What was it she screamed that last time?"

"Something about never being a book keeper and joining us." The old man returned the photo.

"So she not going to be a problem. She easy to get rid of." The assistant puts the photo back and the offers the latest school letter, "Mmmm..." The old man had to read it four times.

"Is that so..." He drops it but the assistant quick grabs it, "What of the parent souls?"

"Off grid sir. There is unknown forces interference. There is also been a god slayer found in each realm these children have passed through, as if tracked. Followed even. Framing us or able to cover tracks." The nod gently agreeing.

"It could be the tomes working against us." The living leader suggests but the glad as sheer nonsense was broken by glares.

"Let's see how far the court is going." The Succubus posed, "The killing of a human before his allotted time is met by punishment gods breath upon all sides. The undertakers are compromised and they know it. So..." The posed open hands, "Who will they go for and how can we manipulate to advantage?"

There was many that tilted sideways and pondered.

"Who would they send as impartial judging? Even death god realm and the clothus are exclude by the sheer fact living people are in testimony. They would have to break their own rules to justify a hearing." More tilted sideways as this is a sticking point, there could be some off tectonic realm boundary judges to pass this was but even then, there is a cost. Always a cost.

Little to anyone paying any focus to it, the locked glass casing for the family's power and influence flicked open, turned pages and closed itself. The after thud made the eldest child look that way, peering at it in wonder of hallucinations. They looked away. Pages unclip out from the book bindings and thin through the most accessible gap. The page spat through eventually, lays low. The child looking this direction again, hear the creaking of rbe glass move. The child attempts to ask another for opinions, looked away just long enough for the page to sink into darkness. Escaping the place just in time.
