He scoffed and I frowned at his behaviour. Was I wrong or was he displeased with my response? It wasn't like I was lying. What I had said was true, but I couldn't understand which one was more important: my heart which kept humming the words save him because he's a human as myself or my mind which kept uttering to save him to return to my land.

"If I have to repay my debt to you," he said with a grim face, "I shall have to teach you one thing for your survival. You had better harden your soft heart and not lend it to one person without knowing their true intentions. Even after all this time, you still haven't changed that nature of yours."

"Which? The fact that I trust you?" I said back. "I think I trust you enough now after you have taken me as your guest. But my heart still bears the brunt of Mr Grant's death, so I haven't been able to forgive you yet and will never be able to."

"If your heart ends up shattering into a million pieces, don't blame it on me."
