1 A Cliché Plot?
A young man with messy blue hair was kneeling on the ground with an unwilling face. His face seemed to be as sharp as a sword with curved eyebrows and deep green eyes that shimmered like stars. His fists were clenched in rage as he pressed them on the hardwood flooring of a small house.
There was next to nothing inside save for a bed, a desk, and a dresser.
A young woman stood over him, sneering with crossed arms. She had fiery red hair with long sharp bangs that framed her face along with a messy bun at the back of her head allowing half of her hair to be tied up with the rest cascading down her back, even resting on her shoulders.
Her eyes were filled with disdain and disgust, beautiful black orbs looking at the young man with enough arrogance to look down on the world! She had a little star shaped birthmark at the corner of her right eye. Her eyebrows; gentle and elegant akin to drooping branches. Her nose was small and cute, her lips plump and red naturally…
She was absolutely beautiful!
The young man growled, "How could you, Mu Yu!? We've been sweethearts since childhood! You've changed!" Mu Yu sneered and snorted with disgust, "Times have changed, Jin Wu! We are in different worlds! Our marriage will be annulled! Live your life knowing that this is for your own good."
Jin Wu snorted, "30 years east, 30 years west, don't bully a poor man! You'll regret this, Mu Yu! At that time, don't come back!" Mu Yu laughed disdainfully, "Fufufufu~! Toad lusting after swan meat! We are Heaven and Earth apart! Goodbye!" as she turned and left the room.
Jin Wu roared "Ahhhh! Mu Yu! You'll regret it!"
Suddenly…
'Mu Yu' came back and burst out laughing, running over happily, "Clint! Hahahaha! You should've been an actor!" Clint sat down and chuckled, "You're not too bad, Sarah. You were perfect! Very 'Regretful Female Love Interest'-like!" he gave her a thumbs up and jumped up.
They locked shoulders and laughed, walking out of the house, arms interlocked.
An old man looked at them and his lips twitched… These damn disciples keep getting more and more rowdy!
That's right!
Sarah and Clint, or Mu Yu and Jin Wu, we're best friends!
To understand this story, we're going to have to go back… All the way back!
A young man was born into the Jin clan. His talent was average. He was well fed and loved, not facing any difficulties… but! This world was much different than the world he was used to!
He had died in a freak accident!
Apparently, not even walking outside was safe as a piece of rock from Mars flew into Earth's orbit and smashed him to meat sauce. Unfortunately for Clint, he wasn't even missed! Everyone was more interested in the Mars rock than him!
So Clint's heroic sacrifice went undocumented…
Sigh! What a cruel world!
He found himself in a Cultivation world from the novels he used to read! Understandably, Clint was shocked. He didn't even know that these places existed in the grand calculus of the Multiverse as Dr. Strange talked about.
From what Clint could understand, he was currently in a Mortal world. The Jin family was the city lord of a Cultivator city. His father was named Jin Ren, a rather huge man with big muscles. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone had a harem!
Clint noticed that his dad didn't have a Harem at all! Only one wife… Although, his mother… Clint's lips would twitch whenever he thought of her. She was as aggressive as can be! Very kind to her own people but more arrogant that the God Emperors in the Novels!
She was more arrogant than the Young Master of the Peng Clan! And everyone knows how arrogant he was!
Her name was Liu Ying.
Unnoticeably, Jin Reng did everything to make her happy. They were really in love, Clint knew it was true love… Mostly because, no matter who visited or what his father was doing as long as his mother passed by, he would rush out and hug her tightly.
Even if she was busy.
She would even do the same!
Therefore, it wasn't strange that they had 7 children.
Clint was only the youngest of the 7, his talent was average and he was sent to a Cultivation Sect by Jin Reng who pulled a favor from an old friend. Mainly Jin Reng was worried that Clint would have an accident among the family as they competed for the City Lord title.
Jin Reng had no delusions. Although he built Golden Willow city from scratch, he knew his little gremlins would fight for the city. He tried his best to suppress them all, mainly because they were his babies. He didn't want any of them to have an accident. Liu Ying also beat them all fiercely, making sure they were never arrogant.
As she liked to say 'The only one capable of being Arrogant in this city is me!' and so, all of Clint's brothers and sisters were scattered to different sects.
The funny part was, according to his eldest sister, every time she came back, there was another sibling…
But how could such a heroic action, sacrificing your life for extraterrestrial progress, go unrewarded?!
Clint was a special guy with a system!
Not just any system… but a…
Well…
Clint named it the proficiency system. The system would auto learn any techniques or methods Clint came across and allow him to train over and over to increase his rank from 1-10. When it became 10, he could upgrade the skill into a new one.
Not only that but he could also fuse techniques to create something new!
Very human, Clint wanted to give it a 5/5 in customer service.
And so, Clint came to Heaven Sword Sect. However, his talent was really just shit… He practiced hard everyday to raise his proficiency and even used a backdoor to enter the sect, but he came to the Hidden Sword Mountain Peak.
There were 5 Peaks with the Hidden Sword being the lowest, only having an old man sitting here. But Clint was ecstatic, you have to know, the lowest peak was always a hidden gem!
In all the novels, the lowest peak was the best, raising above the skies and soaring like a dragon, etc and so forth…
Clint was sure he'd skyrocket to the heavens and all that jazz! This was when he met Mu Yu, or rather, Sarah…
When he came to Hidden Sword Peak, he saw that a genius had picked this sword peak as well! Clint was dumbfounded and looked at her, she was extremely beautiful… At first, he thought that she must be the FL. A woman designed simply for him.
But he got a rude awakening when he approached her and she told him, 'Get away from me, scumbag creep jerkoff.' Clint was dumbfounded and told her, 'So full of yourself?! Don't be a cunt!'
Sarah was dumbfounded, you have to know, she got hit by a brick and lost half her face but the brick uncovered a secret lab that held the cure for cancer on Earth! How could this heroic sacrifice go unrewarded?!
She came to the Cultivation realm of legends only in books!
Not only that but she got a Sign-In system!
How nice!
She originally thought she would be the heavens chosen! She came to the Hidden peak because everybody knows that the weakest peak is the secret strongest in the world. She was stunned to see someone else there.
She thought that he was the Main Romance interest like in the novels, then she saw his arrogant and confident face, full of scumbaggery… Then she couldn't help herself, spraying him directly.
Clint was stunned at the same time. They looked at each other and were full of confusion. Clint took a gamble and asked in shock, "System?" Sarah jumped and replied "You too?!"
Clint's eyes lit up and he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, laughing "Proficiency!" Sarah burst out laughing doing the same, replying "Sign-In!" They laughed at the sky.
This was an instant friendship!
In just a moment!
A bond that would last a lifetime!
That was yesterday.
